Box has arrived undamaged.  Loud sound of plastic falling about inside.

Some of that plastic wrap coating for the aluminum would protect from scratches in assembly.

Mercury so only one PCIE-6 plug protruding.

T-20 torx was noted as the screw size and is so.

Wow, my PCI-E-4 lead must be wrong.  The PCI-e 4 lead has yellow to the clip side while a PCI-E-6 video card testing cable has ground to clip side.  I just tested ground between the center two pins of the Molex 4 pin connector and the PCI-E-6 and found the ground on the clip side of the PCI-E-6 as found on the video card test cable.  Good thing I checked.  Also, the 12v of the Molex 4 is not common with the 12v of the PCI-E-6.

Okay all up and running.  Somehow the password was missing a digit and that probably explains why there was no indication of testing on Slush.  So, the IP address wasn't showing up on linux arp -a so I went to my router and checked the DHCP table and there it was.

So, changed the password and restarted.

getting 10 HW errors in a row after about 8 accepted, repeatedly, sometimes only one or two accepted before a 10 HW error notation.

Cooler Master stand true to their name, their cooling products are awesome, their cabinets are also great. But their PSU's are crap (90%). I've rather bet on Seasonic/Antec/Corsair. They are the most trusted names in psus, at least when it comes to powering up computers. There is a tiered listing of psus somewhere in bookmarks, if I find it, I'll post it.
agree, but usually it could stay alive for few months even it is crap
so im still using them for my jupiters
i think the silent pro gold 550w is the cheapest solution for power cost + the psu cost
Corsair gs 600 x 2 / silent pro gold 550w x 2 is the cheapest way i found

PS: i also use two Corsair HX650 to power my 7970rigs

The Silent Pro series and their 1000w+ units are good, other than that, avoid Coolermaster psu's.

can someone confirm the reset procedure via the little black button.

Is it (I know I read the Manuel but just need to sanity check) press 5 time in a row, then wait 5 seconds and then press it a further 5 times in a row.

What does this do and how does it differ from Power off and back on.

In other news, my brand new Coolermaster V1000 PSU that was powering my Jupiter just died.

I nearly had a heart attack, output went down to zero and I pulled everything apart thinking I had a blown VRM or something.. then realised the PSU wouldn't start even when it wasn't connected to the Jupiter, so swapped it for a 1500W Silverstone I had on one of my folding rigs thats down for maintenance and the Jupiter is back up and mining fine.

But the Coolermaster PSU is pining for the fjords, so RMA on that sucker. Sad

As this is a bit of a fuck-up and no one has mentioned it here yet, I'm going to xpost it:
http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/8377-it-should-be-removed-before-the-cooler-is-installed-this-is-a-instalation-quality-check-failure

Hopefully it was a limited incident, but worth adding to your "before powering up for the first time" checklist.

More than one too. Thx for the warning. Smiley
Yeah, just saw another person in that thread has found the plastic still attached.

LOL that's crap

Bound to happen to a few machines, I've seen that on HP and Dell servers that we've recieved before. Heck I've even done it on a cpu waterblock before Shocked

But good catch for anyone who has one or more ASIC's that are much hotter than the rest.
