Yo! Looks like orders are actually going out today.

I would also like to be leaving here today! Wink

Haha, with that kind of speed on the packaging line, they have to shut down the pick-n-place machines to avoid a pile up! :-))

(Bitcoinorama - was that you on the vid? :-))

and they can't promise that a backup mining pool will be in the first revision of this software.  Huh  Embarrassed
I wanted to SSH so I could add a couple of failover pools. This was the only thing I wanted to do the day I get my miner.

THIS IS NUMBER 1 SOFTWARE PRIORITY TO SORT KNC.

I don't want my miner sitting idle because one pool is under ddos  Angry

I called someone an amateur the other day for not having a failover pool and KNC are going to make us all amateurs if we can't set up multiple failover pools  Angry
use p2pool - forget about pool ddos
Can you explain why this is different to a pool like btcguild in terms of ddos?

By the way... not enough sticky tape on that box Tongue

Needs tape on all the edges, bottom and top.

Otherwise, delivery guy chucks it into the van, the whole box may come flying out because only one tape is holding each side Tongue

Is this Marcus? How much staff do they have?

EDIT: my private estimation is 50 - 75 units per day. 25 - 37.5 Thash per day.

BTW I hope they hire someone with more packing skills than the guy on oramas video, otherwise we are screwed  Cheesy
That was probably orama doing a selfie. Talks a good game, but can't fold the flaps on a box! Wink

I guess him and that box are on their way to Atlanta later today.

It's not exactly wishful thinking or day dreaming since Sam said on the launch video "shipping today", maybe it's naive to believe him but people are expecting their units today based on what he explicitly said.

We will contact you per email as soon as your order is ready with the details for pickup.

Starting the production lines did not go as smoothly as they did expect.

meeeh, I don't think that they will start shipping todat.(

It doesn't look like they will ship this week at all. AFAIK they are still working on debugging (+25% hardware error, right?), webinterface, etc. - as soon as they have gone through these processes they should implement everything on hundreds (if not thousands) of machines, pack them up, etc. People in here daydream and think that you can take the very first version of a bleeding edge piece of hardware directly from the production line, pack it up and send it up to thousands of customers in just one day, without any kind of testing/debugging. Wishful thinking and day dreaming all over this forum...

I am sure every customer would be more than ok to start with doing a software update of the miner right after receiving it. So there is no need to wait with shipping because of that.
Mining software should be already up to date as it is in the beaglebone...

It's cgminer with a custom driver... and has about 10-25% hw errors

Man, I hope there is something inside that box holding those heavy heatsinks in place or there will be a bad rattling sound when those boxes arrive...

meeh, don't scare me, this is my log:

2/10 - no info about shipping, no tracking number (taking another week of homeoffice to receive miner by UPS at home)
1/10 - my order is "in progress"status
30/9 - Jupiter launch: We start shipping today (last statement in video)
27/9 - mail from KNC: "We can confirm that your order is still expected to ship towards the end of September"

Wonder if there's any foam or air bags inside heh

Heh I knew it had to do something with the web interface/pool. As there were zero demo of it.

Kinda sucky. They've got the hardware but now they need to work on the software side (web interface, knc pool page, cg miner driver, knc pool software etc).

Hopefully they don't take too long..
