I am an american by birth. I deliberately don't capitalise it, because that implies "citizenship" which to me means conceding ownership.
The ideals of the revolution, while rather convoluted, were still based on individual liberty and the idea that men should stand alone to the best of their ability, and have the government under their collective control to a great degree.
That has been utterly lost. On the Caucasian side, my ancestors fought a war to throw off the tyranny represented by a 5 percent income tax. I think most of us would fight FOR that today, if we thought about it. On the Cherokee side, my forefathers fought for the right of existence. They sort of won, but got relegated to
prisons tepid swamps hellholes reservations.
