I have Cygwin installed on Windows, so I can do all the usual Unix stuff, including ssh.
omg plz tell more...   Cygwin?

I'm sure these's no advantage installing Cygwin on windows machine unless your a developer, and I think it's much easier/reliable with linux or OSX operating system for developing.

Nemo, what are your intentions. Do you want remotely access your miner.?

Any opinions on whether it is OK to place the miner on the side (standing up like a desktop PC) instead of lying down flat?

Would this put the fans under extra stress? Or maybe other bad things could happen?

I dont see the problem, assuming the heatsink/fan is mounted properly. That heatpipes would be less effective is a non issue IMO. Just look at your graphics card, the cooler is upside down.

Mining for the hell of it.
October 02, 2013, 04:20:13 AM
funny how one little computer glitch can rip away 3 months of planning with a simple address mistake. I'm still VERY upset. Not just a cancelled flight here with the miners sent here...  now its more cost effective to keep them here versus waiting for them & flying over. I'm totally bummed about the address NOT changing where the miners shipped to..... Too late now since they said "Everything locked in" yadda yadda

What are you talking about!. What happened?

......boy why would anyone buy a BFL
monarch card for $4694.00 600gh with shipping in FEB 2014 when you could get a 550-575gh Jupiter for $4995.00 with
another (I assume) 2 weeks to ship FIFO after Nov 15th if you order NOW....BFL is so beyond screwed....

Because of marketing !

You daily see TV adds of overpriced products ! Peoples are naive in this area, thats why marketing works so well

Giving freebies to bloggers and grabbing any opp for an interview looks good too. BFL look awesome and sound awesome until you get to know the reality, sadly that took too long for a lot of people, but they will require a whole new bunch of suckers now it's clear their bragging is a load of bollocks and other people can do so much better.

I still think Josh should be sent a cake with his words about KnC not being able to do September iced on the top so he can eat his words.

yeah sheesh...always go with the asic miner company with the "line drawings" vs the one with pretty videos and pictures

*gee...i'm happy I bought from KNC after BFL disaster...but "what was I THINKING in hindsight...musta stumbled to the KNC www site in shock or something...
hey BFL did not work ..lets try the site in SWEDEN with no info/demos/pics and line drawings of the miners...yeah that will work*

I musta been in shock or something...sometimes it works to be dumb and lucky!

did anybody try to make a phone call knc office this morning asking for delivery news?

I would do it myself but I'm not able to place a call to Sweden at the moment.

Yes, why not, US government is the only1 where instead save the $ just rise the debt, the second crisis will by like chain reaction, less folks working for fed ect.  Maybe Obama will star mining too Smiley or just get btc income tax  Cheesy

Ok, gotcha. Just didn't understand your abbreviation.

I am an american by birth. I deliberately don't capitalise it, because that implies "citizenship" which to me means conceding ownership.

The ideals of the revolution, while rather convoluted, were still based on individual liberty and the idea that men should stand alone to the best of their ability, and have the government under their collective control to a great degree.

That has been utterly lost. On the Caucasian side, my ancestors fought a war to throw off the tyranny represented by a 5 percent income tax. I think most of us would fight FOR that today, if we thought about it. On the Cherokee side, my forefathers fought for the right of existence. They sort of won, but got relegated to prisons tepid swamps hellholes reservations.

Give a government an inch and they'll take your country.

Or, as I think a Rothschilde said, "I don't care what form of government a country has, If I can control it's currency". (paraphrased).

These are some of the reasons I'm so interested in bitcoin.

All I want to know is when my units will be shipping. Apparently I'm only going to have maybe a month or two of good mining and that's it. What else can I do with a Saturn unit besides dump more money into it and upgrade it to a Jupiter to give me maybe another two months of decent mining?

All the $ notes being counted here are false - they have the same serial number. Wink

Not to mention that they are Federal Reserve Notes.
The se. crisis knock on door,  we'll see if there is some reserves,  federal or knox

se. crisis? Sorry, didn't follow.

@sbfree: Good. I've already sent a small tip to Bitcoinorama for his reporting efforts on Monday. Smiley

Now, which charity should a lone Jupiter at thier office contribute to?
I propose Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust (www.durrell.org)

According to Bircoinorama they are not going to mine with anything else for now as all hardware they have will go to order fullfilment.
