Weird, Just had a bank rep. from my local branch call me in regards to my "ahh, bitcoin, ahh coinbase purchases.....we are concerned....??''

hahaha, gave him the best 5-10min explaination of bitcoin I could. I don't think it was a money laundering concern, since the amount of money I have spent on bitcoin is peanuts in compared to serious money laundering so that was weird but intriguing because he did seem genuinely interested in bitcoin. He said to swing by in person since I hardly do.....keep'em close I guess.

Should try to turn him on to the idea of his bank setting up accounts in btc! Or perhaps an intermediary card like a visa debit that links to a btc wallet?

I hope there comes a time when you can buy KnC miners which ship immediately and will ROI at least +10%

Realistic any time in the near future?

yeah that won't get sold out in like 2 seconds....no seriously, they'll limit it to one miner per joe sixpack

is it hte beaglebone black in there?

from what i have seen they have LAN, USB(removed?) & MicroUSB(also removed???)

oh, and hurr' up!!

Yes Beagle Bone Black.
Based on my_read_of_the_pics it looks to me like all the USB ports have been removed.
(huge disclaimer ^^^^^^^)

Another BBB thing,

re: SSH and config.

The BBB Angstrom OS comes with a web server.
It would not be far fetched to think they may use that for config and documentation.
This would save a few trees. (a one page quick start guide perhaps)

If I were a Win user I would wait for word from KnC before going on a Win SSH client tangent that may not be necessary.
Unless you are into that sort of thing. Wink

IMneverHO

as usual YMMV I'm just guessing.

EDIT s/stock/BBB/  I made a statement about "stock" Angstrom that may only apply to the BBB

I wonder if they are waiting to give the very first  Jupiter's to the life on bitcoin couple weekend?  I think this was alluded to in one of oramas posts earlier.  He did not out right say they are waiting on this but he did mention it.

In addition to financial support, KnCMiner will ship a first-run production unit of the Jupiter mining rig to the couple during their experiment.

Speaking of bitcoinorama, since he has been instrumental in providing information in regards to KNC, should my rig arrive in a decent time to where my investment comes close to breaking even or better, then I will donate my burn in coins to BITCOINORAMA. May not be much, but if everyone else who appreciates his efforts did the same, it might come close to compensate him for some of his time and money spent on this project. JUST A THOUGHT, but I will follow through as stated....

Sounds fair.

Bitcoin for all & all for Bitcoin
October 01, 2013, 11:05:23 PM
I'm only slightly surprised to not see another eye-widening update today, those photos and videos sure do put a smile on your face. These guys and gals must be hard at work pumping out all orders. Can you imagine the energy in the building right now? All hands on deck at KNC's production facility. I bet they can't wait to finally get some decent sleep and spend time with their families.

Congratulations on your success so far KNC! I hope the next updates are as monumental as those most recent.

unless they spoofed the local branch number, and were pretty good at sounding Japanese/American, then I've been had, although I didn't give out any sensitive info, but thanks for the looking out....you are right about the phishing.

Be carefull, they may close that account, it has happened to numerous individuals already.

I am not selling bitcoins, just buying them and using for purchasing or as holdings....and not only are they my personal bankers, but my business bankers as well......my personal they can give a rats arse about, but losing my business accts. might make them think about it....maybe that's why the phone call....oddly it was even after the branch had closed. Maybe NSA/GOVT. is looking at me. The rep. did wonder if these were fraudulent, but he wasn't from the fraud dept., he is actually a rep. from the local branch, so not sure what to think.

If you gave out any kind of sensitive information, then you may want take some measures to make sure you don't get your identity stolen as spear phishing is the new hotness these days. Worth taking the time and thinking about what you said.

If they are not shipping because they are configuring the machines to squeeze every last drop of performance out of them it's probably worth the wait. Hoping that's the case Grin.

This is the likely delay....they know they can do better than a few hours of tweaking.
They probably want to reduce those hardware errors and squeeze the most high and reliable  hash rate from the units.

I'd be interested to know if we can reflash or update the beaglebone to get any later firmware into the device.
If they continue to improve the firmware it would be nice to be able to update the firmware/software easily and safely.

Would it be somewhat strategic to wait until just before the next difficulty increase before shipping en masse?

Honestly, this might be the best course of action. Better to have a full 11 days of mining full bore at a slightly higher diff than only 5 days at lower diff just to watch it skyrocket at the next reset...

I would not be surprised if they are simply building / boxing today, and mass shipping tomorrow. Ether way, if those numbers are correct, and they are tweaking these machines to somewhere around 700 - They can keep them all week as far as I'm concerned... a little pain now for more gain later. A no brainier.
