Hello kncminer,
Is there an estimate as to when the HW specs will be posted? Some concrete information (not necessarily physical proof) is necessary to motivate people for pre-ordering.
Also, given the BFL fiasco, its important to publish your schedule for the consumers. When can that be done?

What exact stage in this project are you in (like basic RTL design / simulation / foundry contract signed/ shipping )?

Time for a new theory (and a kick in the balls for this one).

Take a look at the page I linked to. You'll see only five major announcements, the last being kncminer.com with the one before that on Aug. 22, 2012.

Oddly, there are no screenshots of kennemarandcole.se or kandc.se or kennemarandcole.com from last year, because they only recently went live.

Could it be that Kennemar and Cole already work for ORSoc, or were their names simply "borrowed"?

Take a look at http://www.kennemarandcole.com/ and convince me it doesn't read similar to http://orsoc.se, both being consultant-type companies.

so what are you saying there can't be another consultant type company? And Kennemarandcole serves a completely different market of IT services, while ORsoc serves hardware.

Okay! You win! I thought it was a pretty crazy theory and all, but wanted to toss it out there nonetheless. There's no way in hell that ORSoC could've been aware of Bitcoin and what it incompasses until Kennemar and Coles brought it to their attention. Unless, that is,... http://opencores.org/project,btcminer

Has anybody ever heard of a company called BTCMiner before? Maybe it's a new company that's going to work hand-in-hand with KNCMiner.

Any insight will be appreciated.

Dude how do you have 1 billion posts and not know BTCminer? They sold FPGA's on this very forum lol! How do you know Coles brought it ORSoc's attention? Not trolling just wondering, because I think they are completely different companies that aren't involved with each-other.

My bad! Sometimes I forget to include the sarcasm tag in posts.

The point I was trying to make is that ORSoC knew about Bitcoin prior to KNCMiner bringing it to their attention in hopes of having them develop their miners.

Lol I'm like dafuck!! That's very probable as ORSoC is in that business I'm sure they knew about bitcoin lol, maybe KNC is a new company started by ORSoC just for the purpose of selling miners, might be a new venture.

how can I order?

Register on their website. When you log in go under products and then you can reserve a pre order spot.

I am confused. What does reserving a pre-order achieve if the units are sold on a first-come first-served basis?

You reserve a place in queue and when they are ready to take pre orders, you can then decide to pre order or drop out of queue. Basically a free queue holder if in the future you decide to actually pre order. It's vaporware pre-ordering!

I see. So if you want to pay all of the money upfront before the first product is delivered, a preorder helps you do that, but if you want to wait for stronger evidence- your preorder disappears.

yes pretty much, if you feel confident at pre order time you can order if not, you can wait and just lose your spot.

Interest in ASIC devices are big, I think they will collect enough pre-order fund to drive the project, just time to market is a variable

In my past experience, projects in Sweden are typically 6 months to couple of years long, only a small amount of them started to use Agile working method recently

Well I pre ordered 3 first batch and my number was #613, doesn't mean anything could just be their ordering system, end of the day if they are legit and produce a working product could care less if it's only for 500 people or not as long as you queued.

That number would be from the shopping cart database, not a reflection of an individual item. I've configured many osCommerce type shopping carts before, you can usually set a start order number (like #1000) - so your order number isn't worth a grain of salt and tell us nothing. Incidentally, please EDIT your posts rather than spamming the thread.

but I love to spam just like KNC will do with all of our email addresses!!! YEssss....Yessss says KNC CEO playing with his fingers near his face while saying such things.

They can easily tell the first 1,000-2,000 people who sign up that they are of the first 500 people who HAVE to pay 100% as soon as they get an email from them. Where's the accountability that there would ONLY be 500 people offered this option.

You're correct, but possibly misinformed. You can choose to order from the second batch now, the idea being you don't have to cough up (in full anyway) until the first batch (0-500) units are confirmed as legitimate.

http://kncminer.com/categories/miners

That being said, you are correct in stating that we have no way of knowing if the "first 500" item is truly limited to 500 purchases.
