Clueless!

So, what a disaster~ another reporting Titan not function, setup and updated new firmware then working around for 1day since out of box; what is the going on with KnCminer!?
I'm starting to worry again, since they announce ship titan, i can't sleep in the night, I wish I can high, but it looks like a disaster and elimination to us whom orders Titan from them, oh man~ I just wish to have a refund, I'm getting believed they were really screwed whole batch by now.

well not sure if this makes it better but at current conversion of alt coins to btc and difficulty etc....at the 10,131.80 price in usa I got my Titan at...IF the Titan worked on the day you got it at 400mh with no errors and multi-pool from what I can tell you'd be lucky to get 1/2 of your purchase price back (not counting electricity either) at best...

so with current problems we likely will see IF LUCKY 1/3 to maybe 1/2 of what we paid for the Titan back ...the rest is a loss and this imho is best case

it could get worse..they could start failing after the warrenty in a dramatic fashion (ie 90 days) so you would effectively have a door stop

that seems kinda likely from what I see....they likely plain will stop working within 5 months due to burn out plug issue or other and just plain not worth the money
at that point to RMA the unit...assuming you are in the 90 day warranty period.....

so from what I can tell from how the Titan is built 90 days may just be the ave life span of this piece of sh*t product which means gettting 1/3 of my purchase price back would be a miracle (not counting elec costs either)

by the by KNC hates me I've been warned on banning 3x and such....so someone else should bring up the fact that at the very LEAST the warranty on these units should NOT start until they actually have working units/firmware..then start everyone warranty at that point....seems sensible but bet they won't do so...we have guys that will have blown off at best 30 days of the warrenty on a non-working Titan before it even hashes...but then again ...seems sensible to me bet any one who asks this of them will be met by

you guessed it

'deafening silence" TM KNC

as a side note I'm at #2101x march 27th order....so where are they now ...still on march 19th or what? I'm still listed as paid just looked

Actually, have yo guys hear story about GT, whom sign a supply contract with Apple, and after their expansion of productivity, Apple negative to offer their contract of purchase, then GT's stock drop from 99 to 1.2usd with in a day.

Lesson learned never prepaid anything too good to be true.

Apple did that so they could buy GT on the cheap. All those new sapphire screens coming down the road.

ltc.ghash.io:3333 I'll give multi a try later.

stratum+tcp://multi.ghash.io:3333 looks good to me.

What's your difficulty? Someone recommended 8192 for the Titan with 4 cubes.

I set mine to 2048, based on the fact that liteguardian has a max difficulty of 1500 and the Titan works perfectly there too.

Sounds good. I'm currently mining only with 3 cubes, 1 doesn't get recognized by the web interface at all. I've set the value 1024 after clicking at "workers" in the column "click to edit" right?

I only had 3 cubes recognized when I first set it up also. Turns out I hadn't plugged the data cable properly cube side, only 5 of the 10 pins were inserted. Might be worth a look?

Thank you for this hint but both cables look good.

After reading your post, I've given it another try and they are working now after 3 days but the hashing speed is damn unstable at Nicehash, SimpleMulti and GHash. Yaamp doesn't work at all.

Not realizing they wanted a screenshot of BFGMiner, ...

How can I show up the BFGMiner stats?

Not sure if anyone answered your question on this.  In order to see the bfgminer screen, you need to SSH (I use Putty) to your titan as user "pi" with the password you specified for "root" when you first entered the web interface.  Then type "screen -r" to bring up bfgminer screen.  To exit from the bfgminer screen use  "Ctrl-A" followed by "Ctrl-D".  That will disconnect you from screen without stopping anything.

I still have a die not working.  No further contact from Liam.  Maybe I hurt his fee-fees with my post.   Tongue

Thank you very much !!!

We miners have to stay united and I'm pissed after 6 months +1 week of waiting and 3 days working to get lose parts of hardware working, because AlphaMiner (= KnCMiner) has no need to ship 10000 USD hardware in a server case with a manual, right? The last word isn't spoken yet!

How much power do your cubes draw from the PSUs? My 4 cubes draw 244-246 watts each from two 1300 watt Enermax G2. 3 cubes have shut down 1 Enermax 1300 PSU after 6 hours but the PSU needed only some rest time to work again ... puh Smiley

I've read the current news form KnC today and I don't get hashing speed of 300+ at multi.ghash.io:3333.  2 cubes work nice between 100-155 MHs but 4 cubes between 0-260 with "stopped mining" messages nearly every minute.

So are there any batch 2 Neptune customers who haven't received their machines ?

Are there any people who have received their free Neptune ?

Are there people with outstanding RMA issues on the Neptune ?

Fly on the wall at the KNC staff meeting recently:

"Crap, BTC is in the toilet. We never expected this. Our business model assumes a minimum of $500 BTC."

"OMG, what are we going to do ? I just bought a nice new BMW for my girl friend"

"I know … we'll dedicate all of our production to Neptunes. We can ship them to our DC instead of to customers and mine the crap out of BTC while the going is good. Then we'll launch cloud mining and sell over priced mining contracts to stupid people. The stuff we can't sell we'll just mine and dump on the market"

"But what about all the Titan customers ?

"We've got problems with the Titan that we'd rather not talk about"

"We'll build and ship a few before October and then announce that we made our comittments."

"Shouldn't we wait until the Titan  works right and is reliable before we start to ship ? We're having DC/DC, SPI and urgent setwork/flush problems like crazy right now"

"No, we can always blame the pools or something. I'll tell our customer relationship management people to tell everybody we are working around the clock to make it right. Yeah, thats what we'll do. We'll just say that the pools aren't ready to handle the massive power of the Titan. Make sure we disable load balancing too."

"But people won't believe us"

"Wo cares ?  We can always pay a couple of the paparazzi press to run our story in their rags."

"We gotta mine the crap out of BTC asap or we'll be looking for jobs"

"Umm … that wouldn't be good. I doubt if anyone would give us work after the Neptune and Titan debacles"

So i feel no pity for anyone who ordered a Titan from them knowing full well they screwed their previous batch of customers.

I think you're a just a little confused Marvell1. Nobody is looking for your pity buddy. But I pity you for thinking so.

We're all big boys. This is like high stakes gambling. Win some, loose some. The jury is still out on the Titan buy.

And don't pay any attention to RoadStress. He wouldn't know a shill even if he looked in the mirror.

They have missed their promised delivery dates AND the product is faulty and doesn't meet advertised specs.

I'm too lazy to search for the posts where you shill for KnC, but it's funny to read this from you.

Edit:
I'm  just calling it like i see it my Sp30 will ROI , i got mine around Aug 27 and have pulled in about half what i paid for it if you factor in the $900 coupon i got
beyound that I will probbaly sell the coupon but my ROI will be around end of December it looks like.

dont take it personally , I have extreme hate for KNC due to thier DatorHall , and how they BLATANTLY , started using thier customers cash to fund it in truly villainous fashion.

So i feel no pity for anyone who ordered a Titan from them knowing full well they screwed their previous batch of customers.

I'm running my KNC rig at home. I live in the US, New Jersey. Would anyone know what the average cost of electricity is to run this on a monthly basis? It runs at 550-560GH/s and pulls I think around 600 WATTS.

I find it hilarious how you were going off on the SP-TECH forums about how they didn't meet their specs and how they failed to deliver on their promises (at least they gave refunds as requested right ?)
when you were ordering from the most corrupt company in the history of the bit coin hardware game , the balls on you brah must be outrageous

I treat 'em all the same mate. You should be following all the KNC forum threads if you want a real laugh.
SP/KNC/Alpha/MAT/Bitmain/etc  are all cut from the same cloth. Its a shame really because it is killing the crypto scene.

I'll be happy to revisit my Titan decision in a year after the fat lady sings. But for now, I'd guess my chances of earning a ROI with the Titan are still better than yours with a SP30/1/5

Face it, Bitcoin is in the do-do now and so are you.

I'm no KNC shill. I bought a Titan and I am pissed. You can laugh all you like until your Spondoolies boat anchors ROI amiga.

~L)L~

So why did you buy a "no refunds" product in the first place? By that time KNC had a good history of failing to deliver. No one should be surprised they didn't deliver again.

I agree in retrospect it was obviously a bad decision. At the time it seemed like the risk/reward ratio was reasonable. We've had a perfect storm with the Titan … collapse in crypto-coin values, late delivery, poor quality product. I still expect to recover my costs, but it's not going to be a slam dunk.

With respect to the refund issue, lets wait till the fat lady sings. Late delivery of a product that doesn't meet its specification and is unreliable is always grounds for a refund, KNC no-refund policy or not.

This is why you need to confirm with the manufacture before you buy something that it's going to meet their expectations and yours before you throw down the money. If they can't give you that guarantee then you should to buy your product elsewhere. This is common sense on the consumer level, yet people seem to always make the same mistakes on every level.

Sorry but lol. I had the impression that we were given all kind of guarantees and promises and such. The truth and credibility of such stuff unfolds throughout the whole ASIC industry since some months.
