They said MARCH! Then they said Q1/Q2 - in this way, people were certain to order @ $12,995 USD.
"We will ship no devices in December 2013, January 2014 or February 2014. Meaning that once we have taken the difficulty up at the end of November we will not release any more hashing power for 3 months. We will then release our new generation of devices, which will begin shipping in March 2014. These devices will also have a much higher GH/$ rating than any of our current offerings."
If they had actually said "June", they wouldn't have sold ANY!
So a statement made 1 year ago before the announcement of neptunes somehow means a definite shipping date?
Q1/Q2 means shipping some time before july. Most people understood this but if you were naive enough to think you would be getting a neptune in march hopefully you learned your lesson with preorders.
Next time don't preorder from a company that provides a 6 month shipping window. In fact you should never preorder hardware that doesn't exist.
Well Jimmy, as I explained, I believe they were well aware of what they did in planting the seed in our minds about
March. What did that mean to you? Nothing? Why did they state it? Most normal people make statements to communicate their thoughts and intentions. Q1/Q2 actually means January, February,
March, April, May, June and while I probably don't have to explain this to you,
March means
March.
"New generation of devices" means
Neptune.
Neptune being the name they gave to their next generation device.
The difference here is that I was trying to predict the future of events based on the information I was able to garner from KNCminer in order to make an investment decision while you are able to see this event as having been predictable despite there being little if any objective basis for its occurrence. Which is probably why you say Q1/Q2 means "some time before July" and statements made one year ago are invalid since they don't fit your perception of what transpired while congratulating yourself for doing nothing and staying safe.
So, when
March came and went, I requested a refund. KNCminer had said I could have a refund "right up until shipment". I have not received the refund yet nor have I received a delivery and yet they are shipping. Does this mean I am no longer entitled to my refund? Do statements about refunds made 6 months ago still apply?! Can you give me your analysis of this situation or would you prefer to wait until I do or don't get a refund to offer up your special brand of creeping determinism? Please don't leaving me hanging until AFTER something happens...
