There is something I do not like here.

Maybe I am wrong.

My new worthless prediction (I'm batting .000, lol)...

There is some very compelling evidence that supports this hypothesis. But the most glaringly obvious is the single PCI power connector. They're not so stupid to design it to handle 420w. But they were compelled to squeeze as much hash out of each chip that they threw away common sense.

Remember "under promise, over deliver"? Yeah, not to so much anymore. The new motto... "We deliver dangerous crap because we're cheap bastards."

1 month ago (after I saw the picture of the PCB with only one 6-pin power connector) I wrote an alarming email to Sam directly. Sam replied within one hour, and replied he would discuss the issue with the developers.
My guess is that they have added a second power-connector (on the opposite side, so you cannot see it on the box photos), or.... they calculated that one connector was still appropriate, which would mean that only 200 to 250 watt is used per PCB.  If this last is the case then they have a rabbit-in-the-hat : one box gives 600 Ghs running 250 Watt gives 0.41 W/Ghs............

But my fear is that they didn't either add a connector nor have a 0.41 W/Gs.....

Huh?

A coincidence?

So obviously Elenelen has a man on the inside, lol.

It's very odd that there is only one Neptune in the wild. Elenelen, where do you live, Sweden?

obviously, Sweden or something close (Norway, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia)

I am so curious to know how many of those finally left their Datacenter ,er ,warehouse for delivery.
Well this guy got his:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7415397

And then bitcoinorama xstr8guy got his
http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/46873-first-received-neptune

No wait, he was just talking about the first guy.

So on record we have a massive 1/1200 shipped.

Once again, well done knc for not misleading customers and completely keeping the misleading bullshit commitment lying you made 2 days ago to ship all Batch 1 this week.

We salute your integrity!

@theshmadz
can anyone tell me how loud they are?

is it, ridiculous loud like a cointerra box that sounds like a vacuum cleaner running 24/7?

or is it whisper quiet like the jupiter? or somewhere in between? like an avalon?

noise is going to be my biggest limiting factor moving forward...

Just ordered 4x Antminers S2 for 9.741 BTC
So 2.436BTC per 1TH/s

A bold move...did you have some before? I had a somewhat flaky first unit that refused to handle all 10 boards (9 were fine).
Still, $5800 for 4th now instead of $10K-13.2k for 3th now plus 3th in 1.5-2mo
A bargain  Wink

I expect the announcement of a super duper franken jup with 10 boxes ≥5-6Th for $6K once batch 3 is done.
maybe 20 boxes for low low $10999  Grin

Well, I expect that all problems associated with the S2 are cleared by batch 4, right?

no problems with shipping (everything is bolted down), but some software/card/blade issues still linger. Typically, nothing major.

That's a good point
Hey guys... but if the NeptuneS are made of 5 boxes, how would this fit with the mini-neptunes??   5/2... so, they'll split one chip with hello-kitty paper-scissors or new designs will reach the foundry soon...!?

About the infamous "hash while we trap you"... could someone please confirm that, to NOT LOOSE the bonus machines, I have to SIMPLY IGNORE the "Plan B" email and its link... or maybe I've to explicitly follow the link and "make a choice" like I WANT TO KEEP MY BONUSES, AS IT SHOULD BE...?

Thank you so much in advance! Smiley

Cheers!

That's interesting...I'd venture a guess they'll send Mini's with 3 chips, Which does the following:

Mini Neptune @ $3500 - 3 chips - $1166/chip
Neptune Batch 3 @ $6000 - 5 chips - $1200/chip

So much for bulk discounts.

Batch 1 customers have paid nearly 2400 per chip, with closer to 1200 per chip with the two for one.
Batch 2 customers have paid nearly 2000 or more per chip, but with two for one, that drops to a more palatable 1000 per chip.

It pays to be second?!

...and 2x Mini(upgradeable)Neptunes would be FAR BETTER than 1x Neptune 3rd batch in that case (3 chips per mini)... in addition, the "Mini" would hash @2-2.5  and that wouldn't absolutely be comparable with an "entire" Neptune at its price difference expecially...

If you read my posts, I'm in the middle of that trap right now. I tried to get it right yesterday but I'll have to wait until Monday after the Swedish holiday.

Cheers

I know... and I wish you all the good luck possible! Smiley

keep stressing their contacts and, in the meanwhile, send an "official" email to Anna, Lu and all of them in cc, where you clearly repeat that thete was a HUGE lack in communicationsbfrom their side... DON'T GIVE UP!!!

This is correct. Ignore the "Plan B" email and its link and all will stay intact, according to best knowledge thus far.

THX!   Smiley
