Cointerra kept their 20nm very quiet, or did I miss that??  Undecided
guess CT's dreams of 14nm FinFen being next are gone....
Considering CT's performance on 28nm, I wouldn't bank on anything  special there.
If there's any truth to the document, we will see Plan "B" soon

Quoted from the 20nm post...  "actual cybershuttle cycle time figures on the 20nm technology, which will be included in the Swedish mining manufacturer KnC and the US Cointerra, shows shuttle times of around 130days, with 16nm at 171 days."

Since KNC's 20nm is an industry 1st for AlChip and AST; where do the numbers come from?

a confidential document. you may now either choose to believe, or disbelieve. either way - keep your tinfoil hat on.
err...   thank you.

you are welcome  Grin

Hello,

The Neptune first batch was advertised with shipping either in Q1 or Q2.
*The miners are expected to ship before the end of Q2. Unfortunately, we do not have more specific time frames.
**We are now in the foundry stage and as soon as the chips arrive we will let you all know.

We have finished designing the chips and now expecting for them to arrive.
We should have more specific information and updates once the chips arrive.
Please do not hesitate in contacting us if you have further questions.

Theyre not gonna deliver annything scrypt base i think untill the end of 2014 as the production isnt yet at place as i can understand by talking back and forth.

I should note; there are no problems with 20nm that I know of. The shuttle/full mask details I have seem to be standard timescales - which should have been known by all hardware manufacturers in the first instance prior to making any promises on shipping schedules.

Depends on what you constitute as "problems" I guess, first eta for 20nm gpus were late Q1/Q2 2014 around a year ago, Nvidia didn't just push maxwell on 20 nm into Q1 2015 for no good reason. It could simply be supply constraints and Apple pretty much buying up every single 20nm wafer leaving everyone else stranded.

granted, and as a total neutral in the matter, it does seem that most manufacturers have been a tad overzealous, in the promises they have made.

Just got this email from Knc Miner, I wanted to find out more info when the B1's were supposed to be released even though I have an order for a B2 and also explained using a bitcoin calculator (which I gave the link for) in order to make my ROI back the Neptune's would have be between 6 and 10TH/s.

So we have proof people won't see their Neptune until August/September/October/November/December?

I can't believe it  Cry

I find it so hard to believe that kfc would mislead everyone and pretend they were still on track to deliver in Q2  Cry Why would they do it?  Cry

They've been SO honest up to now, not mining more than 5% of the hashrate they sold etc. They've kept all their promises to existing customers. They acted honestly and kept their customers informed on a weekly basis with those "Neptune progress" news updates we've all enjoyed to read.

We don't have 100% proof yet, but we will see.

Do you or anyone else know around how much hashpower did KnC sold with their Jupiters? I know that for Neptunes there were around 3600 units which means ~11880TH/s(3600*3.3TH). Am i right?
I figured about 3000 Jupiters in October (deathandtaxes had a similar figure).

November I dont know. deathandtaxes called it the same amount as October, so that is a good figure if you want to do some calculations.

So we have ~1710TH/s in October and another ~2010TH/s in November for a total of ~4000TH/s(with overclocking). Rounding up to ~16000TH/s everything sold.

Actually, now that I think about and dug back, the number is higher:

I created a ballpark figure of units produced from 12th -19th October around 3000, which is where I got my 3000 figure from.

Knc said on the 11th October that they had only produced 700 units.

So roughly 3700 by 19th October.

And they countinued to ship until about 31st October?

So the figure is probably a bit more like 7-8000 October Jupiters.

Not sure they shipped that many in November, as the production run was only 2 weeks wasn't it? So maybe half as many?

Which would actually give - roughly - 12000 Jupiters?

Refund Requested.

That's me Out.

You are not alone, I kept my batch 0 order just in case of semi decent delivery bot with the problems TSMC reportedly has on 20nm I just don't see the point of keeping it.

Jumping on a new fab tech with something as time sensitive as mining smells a bit of hubris, but as long as they keep processing refunds it doesn't really matter!

That's me Out.

Reasons  (BTC down money better spent on buying BTC than Mining) at todays rate I can get about 26 BTC with my refund money.

To mine 26 BTC at 3TH/s it would take 86 Days at the current Diff rate with no diff change.

With no message on Shipping Dates or Delays in manufacturing , even if they Offered 4TH in the Cloud, it still does not calculate.

Regarding Neptunes - they did sell 3600, but I imagine it might be half or less than that now with all refunds.
