not sure that your thinking is 100% correct tho, because I was testing the pcb with fan disconnected ie, no noise ??

(I got tired of putting cube back together just to test it so I did the vegas trick of just setting the heat sink loose on top and turning MHz way down to generate less heat)

We are testing the CUBE now. The temperatures are very good. But problem is that it works for 10 sec and restarts, works/restarts and so on.. So we can not test it continiously...
Previously the 1.02-1.04 firmawe worked normally, but now it is like this Sad

The 1.05 firmware does not see any cube..

ok, I suppose you can always pop in a 1000uf .. let us know how you make out

if doing it yourself you might want to practice on an old graphics card(we all have them lying around), especially if replacing the pcie connector too

the main symptom was the fan was running and the cube wouldn't be recognized properly on the card

-- one cube was completely dead and unrecognized, like it wasn't even plugged in -- I think the cap was completely shot

-- on the other cube it was just erratic, sometimes one die would work , then another, then none, sometimes it'd show everything blank in advanced settings, sometimes it'd screw up other cubes --- I think this cap was partially functioning but at the wrong values or erratically

-- the bottoms of both caps were pushed down

-- also both cubes failed after a power cable or y connector burned up

Im just curious steve, what symptoms was the board displaying when you replaced your capacitor? Ive done a couple of these and the symptoms were different both times.

I have just opened the box that did not work, took out the board with chips and looked at it with magnifying glass. I do not see any damages on the board Shocked

If it were me I'd replace that electrolytic capacitor next to pcie connector, you can't check it while it is on the board but if it is bulging top or bottom it is a sure sign it is bad, however it can be bad with out bulging ... It's a 5 min repair job at electronics shop with proper tools .. you can try repairing it yourself but knc used some nasty no lead solder that makes it hard, takes a lot of heat to desolder

no guarantees, but that's what I'd try, it worked for me on 2 cubes

do all your other cubes work ok when that bad cube is removed?

btw if it works send me .25 btc, just kidding I'm not selling anything .. most of this info is freely available thru google and other repair info and mods are on this thread

Found in my spare stuff one capacitor for 1500 uF (Original is for 1000uF). And now starting this job ))
And one CUBE that was working do not work in any slot now. Trying, reflashing and so on.. This is the BIG QUEST.

you better use 1000uf, you can go higher temp and higher volts, but you need same uf as original good luck

I had one cube with a bad electrolytic capacitor was looking like your bad cubes, it wasn't completely bad, one die would work, sometimes they'd all work, then another die would work, sometimes none of them would work, sometimes the cube wouldn't show at all -- after replacing the capacitor everything was fine -- that capacitor effects the power to the board -- seems hard to believe you have 4 bad caps, but it is possible I guess

btw that one bad cube I had was at times effecting the whole rig, so try running the cubes one at a time, see if it's just one cube that's bad -- if so pull it out

As I am having a full house of bad asics I am very interested in pricing policy!

Guys im about 50% through the hardware video. It contains very detailed information on everything you will ever want to know about repairing and modding titans. I'm getting crazy because I am trying to upgrade, but after I upload the 2.0 and reboot, it start rebooting but then freeze in the screen at kncminer spinux. And don't move. So I flashed back to 1.02 and it works. When I try to upgrade in whatever version (even the 1.15) it freezes.

Some things you can try:

Try a different flash disc
Start with ONLY 1 cube and see if it boots

OK I've got class 10 micro sd
flashed 2.00 img and it showed KNcminer / spimux
Then flashed 1.02 bin and all ASICS went online
Than made incremental upgrades one by one till 1.97 (I do not actually know if i need to make all upgrades one by one have no info), after it I had 1.25 working asics..
