Seriously it's basically 2014. Who uses IRC!?!?!

Silliest thing I've seen in 15 pages of reading.

Some of the most powerful people in the digital world, to answer your question. Very handy interface protocol.

hmm...I wonder if sales have slowed down with the decline of BTC?

(again I'm a noob I just started mining with a Jupiter oct 18th...this is all kinda bizarre yet with all the drama BTC and prices up then down...etc was $150 usd when I started oct 18th....I'm like a frozen deer in the headlights on the road so far holding but no clue which way to jump.....on to my 28.5 btc but sheesh)

BTC seems to be on the way up again.  and this is normal volatile behavior.
See video below. Some probably have seen it, but for the ones that haven't it's good great info.

Seeing as no-one else seems to have mentioned them, are these grey sponge type things in there for any reason other than shipping protection?

I assume they are to be removed...?

I removed one just now.

They are the thickest thermal pads I have ever seen. Not sponge.

I'm assuming they think that they are transferring some heat to the metal bar which in turn transfers heat to the heatsink and fan. But I can't see how it would work.

I've removed one anyway from the one I could reach at the back of the system. I'll keep a close watch on the temps.

Neptunes are down to 787/1500
KNC details say only 1200 will be sold this batch.

Leaving 487 units up for grabs.

I don't think that number reflect how many Neptunes are available Wink

Still a tough number to swallow.  If they were more open with (aka, had available) any realistic estimates for hashrate, power usage, etc., they would be sold out by now.  I have to agree with whoever posted above that for the price tag they haven't put enough info forth and have such a wide open delivery window this is more of a faith-based purchase than their first gen devices.  I believe in a lot of things, just not a mining company holding my pre-order funds for up to and including six months.  Been down that road, got lucky it paid itself off due to dramatic rise in price, but for $13k?  My group has the cash but nobody here is that much of a cowboy. Smiley

whoo who!

"I'm a cowboy" (ordered 2 Neptunes 1 from batch 1 and 1 from batch 2) but then again not much of a cowboy if according to the Neptune descripton on the miner page...I can refund up to shipping (I'm a 'deferential cowboy don't ya know)..hey you are a cowboy on those coin operated poines too right?)

er as to the below info?

Is it just me, or does the HashFast video show the assembly fail? Yeah, those don't go on there sideways.

hey orama,

i got one november jupiter that has 3 die disabled on one board. any advise??

I think we need to wait for the tuning suite, mines like this currently (657Gh/s):

Board 0 - 3 Cores off - All VRM fine
Board 2 - 3 Cores off - VRM 7 - FAULT 4
Board 3 - 3 Cores off - VRM 0,2,5,7 - FAULT 4
Board 4 - 2 Cores off - All VRM fine

yeah, i am lookin forward for the tuning-suite too

here it looks more like this

Board 0 - 3 dies off

so its running at 25%

how to look-up the VRMs??

Bertmod 0.4 http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/main-forum/20546-bertmod-0-4-unofficial-firmware-mod-feedback-thread

ah, didnt know that bertmod is capable of that

i will have a look

but nevertheless waiting for 0.99-e-tuning is all we can do i am afraid
Fault 4 is overheating. You keeping your miner sufficiently cooled?

Potentially turning it off for a few minutes, letting it cool down and restarting maybe enable everything again. By all reports, Nov jups like to be kept *very* cool.

I have NEVER paid a penny for a faulty item to be replaced or repaired, this is called a warranty and is the whole fucking point of one. To keep the customer happy because he has peace of mind that his product will always be available during the warranty period, I have never even paid postage. When it breaks under warranty that is THE VENDORS/ MANUFACTURERS fault and their responsibility to sort out free of  charge.

KnC sent me UPS express shipping label to RMA 2 of my board a few weeks back and I received 100% working ASIC board in 3 business days 5,481 miles (8769 km) away (shipped Friday, received Wednesday).  So I am not really sure why you are all flustering over nothing?  You really have nothing better to do then to troll here about an imaginary problem that doesn't exist?
Exactly. Some would rather just cry, whine & moan than get off their duff to actually do something about it... but it's their choice... I say..... let them whine if their too lazy to have their Pick axe sharpened... They'll just mine less, and therefore get less....  which is exactly the price of laziness.
It's 3:39 AM in Hawaii right now. Are you such a sad git you sit in front of a computer day and night pressing F5 on this page? Do you even have a job, do you actually do anything? And you are describing other people as lazy. Maybe you should get a life and stop taking every opportunity to take pot-shots at people. Get away from your computer, maybe go out into the world you lame-o and do something with your life, rather than keyboard-jockeying 24-7?
Actually, I'm an insomniac, and I'm up trading on the exchanges, taking advantage of the price drop...did great!....thanks for asking!   In- between trades, thought I'd get a peek in here ... glad I did. You are enough to wake me back up at 350am with a chuckle watching you utter the same old rhetoric over & over somehow thinking it's gonna help...thx!

"The longer they sit & whine about it, the more they short themselves for no reason. It's like self-inflicted punishment!..."

You are a funny guy. It seems like all your dicking about tweaking destroyed some boards on your first miners. If you were a regular customer, you'd be sitting looking at a bunch of expensive, dead hardware. What would the man of action do then?

But as you get special treatment, you get free boards to replace the ones you destroyed with your own stupidity. I bet you didn't even have to return the boards you destroyed, buttyrammer just mailed you the new ones. So that was a lot of action eh?

And the fact it took you 24 hours to hook your first saturn up to the internet still makes me laugh Grin I doth my hat to your ongoing genius and value every comment you make.

LOL, I got my RMA two weeks ago, took two weeks of dicking about and they finally sent new board. Took two days to arrive then a week later two dies shutdown, didnt even bother emailing KNC just made a heap of calls to my solicitor. I'll let him sort it out.
