Sleep mode? C'mon, man :-)

I uninstalled/reinstalled it as "All users" instead of "Current users" and somehow that worked. Really hard to tell what's going on with the block syncing when it first starts out, but it *looks* like it's syncing.

So, I just saw this on Reddit. Apparently someone is selling Syscoin shirts Cheesy: https://fastprintcrypto.com/collections/t-shirts-men/products/short-sleeve-unisex-t-shirt-to-support-syscoin-cryptocurrency-sys

Is it official? I'd like one but I also want to support the team and not a random person!

It's not technically official but since Syscoin is opensource, anyone can use the logo as they please.

Symmetric key encryption between parties

Great, thanks! It seems like all of the features anyone could ask for are being included with security in mind.

Certainly, we wouldn't want to compromise anyone's security.

I don't fully understand the purpose of the master nodes. I didn't see a lot about it in the whitepaper. Is there a simple and straightforward article on it that you recommend?

The current whitepaper is really for Syscoin 2.1, we are working on the whitepaper for the next core version of Syscoin. Here's the recent documentation we've written:

What if a buyer purchases something from a seller and never receives the item? How is that type of situation resolved in Blockmarket?

Syscoin has the world's first decentralized 3rd-party escrow platform built-in directly to Blockmarket.

The buyer simply chooses an arbiter that both the merchant and buyer trusts to secure the purchase.

How easy will it be for a buyer to ask questions about a product from a seller? How will communication be secured?
Symmetric key encryption between parties

All communications are done via this encryption process as Jag has mentioned.

Anyone can have fully encrypted communications by simply using the encrypted messaging built-in to blockmarket.

What is the biggest challenge that Syscoin has had so far? How did you guys overcome it?

I would say our biggest challenge was in 2014-2015. We had some big plans to make Syscoin the most useful cryptocurrency and we unfortunately had to really slow down our operations since the escrow provided for our ICO stole most of our funds.

https://www.coindesk.com/uk-court-syscoin-injunction-moolah-750-btc/

We spent countless days of sleepless hours on our dayjobs, continuing Syscoin development and fighting Ryan Kennedy in court, it was exhausting and it felt very demoralizing to tell you the truth.

https://www.ccn.com/alleged-moolah-fraudster-ryan-kennedy-faces-first-court-hearing/

Ryan Kennedy was also put in jail for 11 years for multiple counts of rape:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3724522/Vicious-sex-fiend-emotionally-controlled-three-women-raped-jailed-11-years.html

We learned a lot from our experience:

1-That we will never give up
2-To do our due diligence with everyone we engage
3-We built the world's first decentralized 3rd-party escrow system!

How did we overcome it? We continued with development despite having no funds, a few of our community members loved our project so much that they eventually became team members and the rest is history! Now that we've received $3.3 million in funding we are able to execute our original dream and so much more.

Thanks for your reply. That does sound like a very intense challenge. I was not following the project back then so I had no idea this happened. I'm glad to see you guys overcame it, learned from the experience, and ended up with a lot of funding. It says a lot when a team can overcome something like that and be very successful after!

Thanks much appreciated! At this point, I can safely say that we've moved on and made it into a learning experience; it has made us stronger for sure!

What kind of fees are there for using Blockmarket? I'm wondering how affordable it will be because that sometimes impacts the number of people who are willing to use a market.

Currently fees are 0.019 SYS to create an Alias(that last 1 year), 0.019 SYS to place an ad (which also lasts 1 year). There's also very small "dust" fees for all other transactions (0.00001 SYS) such as sending and receiving funds (like all crypto wallets), sending encrypted messages, etc

Syscoin 2.2 fees will be even less expensive for the simple transactions mentioned(~100k transactions for one Syscoin), but could also be more expensive as it will be cost per amount of data that is transferred in the transaction, reducing possible bloat, yet providing the most cost-effective and secure blockchain technology.

I've been hearing some rumours that Syscoin will be on Binance soon. Is that true or, at least, in the works?  Grin

If we are to be added, we would certainly appreciate it, but we have no knowledge of being added soon or ever.

We heard a rumor yesterday that it would be added today that it would be have been added today, however, the entire day has passed and it is past 6AM in South Korea, we have not been added so I can only assume that the rumors are false.

So that's just a rumor? yes at least it has not been news for sure, everything may have been a bit quiet about it, while binance is currently down and can not be accessed.

Only Binance can really confirm or deny the rumor, we aren't aware when or if Binance will list us. As I am their first point of contact, I've reached out to many exchanges, including Binance but that's all I can really do.

That would, of course, be great if SYS was listed by Binance. There is another way to get listed and that is through the Binance “Community Coin of the Month” program. The community coin that receives the most votes will earn a place to list on Binance exchange for free.

Nomination of candidate coin:

Please fill in the Community Coin Application form. We will have a strict screening process. If you are not a core team member of the coin, please kindly ask a member of their core team to make the request.  If your coin is not selected for this month, feel free to apply again in the next round.
For this round, voting will be done on Twitter.

So, when the next round comes up if SYS isn't listed yet we could motivate the community to vote SYS on!

I'll keep an eye out for the next contest.

What kind of fees are there for using Blockmarket? I'm wondering how affordable it will be because that sometimes impacts the number of people who are willing to use a market.

I'm still curious about this. I likely just overlooked the details on it.

How easy will it be for a buyer to ask questions about a product from a seller? How will communication be secured?
Symmetric key encryption between parties

Great, thanks! It seems like all of the features anyone could ask for are being included with security in mind.

Still getting "Waiting to connect to peers..." though for an hour now, even after dropping nodes in config.

Any ideas?

I don't fully understand the purpose of the master nodes. I didn't see a lot about it in the whitepaper. Is there a simple and straightforward article on it that you recommend?

What if a buyer purchases something from a seller and never receives the item? How is that type of situation resolved in Blockmarket?
