3rd T20I between srilanka and Australia is underway. Result will be very much same as was in previous 2 T20I. Australia right now are 79/1 in just 9 overs. Srilanka cricket is struggling badly and seeing the economic crisis in the country the cricket crisis won't be over very soon.

$9- $10 billion was looking realistic target at one point but yesterday Amazon has pulled out so bidding war might not reach there (they did the same thingy in last auction too) but again it's hard to predict the outcome in these crazy bid war.

Indian as well as global corporates are awash with money, after the crazy bull run of 2021. What happened during the franchise auctions may happen this time as well. The major contenders as of now are Disney+Hotstar, Sony, Zee and Reliance. The competition is actually more fierce in the online streaming sector, when compared to cable TV. Apart from Disney+Hotstar, other platforms such as JioTV, SonyLIV and ZEE5 are looking to increase their market share. On the cable TV sector, Sony Sports, Sports 18 and Zee Sports are looking to break the monopoly of Star Sports.
For streaming Amazon was right candidate, unfortunately they are out. I really loved their cricket based streaming. In comparison Hotstar (buffering etc) provides horrendous user experience and it looks like they don't even care and just want to increase their subscription base with cheap fees. SonyLIV is also same.

Get ready for more shitty ads in all this drama. I hope that these companies also considering ad-free cricket (additional category of subscription) to their audience, they can even charge extra for that.
Do not know about sonyliv but hotstar is quiet pathetic in livestream. I am using a high speed broadband connection and still the live matches tend to buffer quiet often when I am watching them on hotstar. Amazon is far much better when it comes to livestream. They will not remove those advertisement bas it is another source of income for them when they are paying so much to get exclusive rights to the matches.

So today we have 3rd T20I between Srilanka and Australia. Australia already won first 2 T20I and I have feeling that they will win today's game too. Srilanka batting and bowling both is struggling and they are proving to be a piece of cake for mighty Australia. Srilanka in both T20Is have given a small target in 120s.

Just heard that IPL media rights are about to go on crazy mode (base price is $4.5 Billions).

It will be similar to the auction for the two new IPL franchises. Everyone was expecting around ₹5,000 crore and the base price was just ₹2,000 crore. In the end, the two franchises were sold for a total of ₹12,690 crore, which is more than 6 times the base price. I expect the same to happen with media rights as well. Some of the players are in desperate need of a greater market share and they will splurge big money to get the IPL rights. I won't be surprised if BCCI receives more than $10 billion for all the four packages.
Not surprising at all considering the fact that IPL keeps getting more and more popular as time passes despite the recent drop in viewership ratings.

To be honest, India was a little overconfident. They had posted such a big total on the board that they thought they don't need to worry at all, but they were so wrong. SA played really well to win this match. And there were some very obvious mistakes in the captaincy of India. India really failed to do anything in the bowling department.
I felt like it was opposite, bowlers were fairly nervous ( bowlers of both teams).

I feel there is none to be blamed. Normally South Africa used to perform well against India. This time the performance of South Africa was found better in bowling and batting. When it comes to India, they managed to take few wickets and that isn't enough to make a win against the current squad of South Africa. Captaincy is important and I don't find anything wrong with Rishab.
Not criticising Rishab as captain because it was his first match leading the Indian team and you're bound to make some mistake but He's also captain of delhi and Axar patel playing under his captaincy for couple of years now so Pant should have known that Axar is better option in powerplay instead of chahal ( Axar has bowled in powerplay many times for the DC)

I think the Indian player was overconfident after giving a huge target of 212 runs. And so we didn't see their fielding bowling as expected. A catch drop in these types of important matches can change the entire match situation. Indian bowlers need to be more responsible. Otherwise they will not be able to win this series.
Not trying to disrespect any poster here but i don't think anyone here experienced any game in this stadium (i have, plenty cause i'm Delhiite) or even watched the last match (this one is stretch).

Yes bowlers did some mistake but there was some serious problem with the Rishabh's captaincy overall, like using Chahal in powerplay instead of Axar and pulling out Chahal in middle overs.

This is young team and lead by temp young captain (He made some mistake with bowling changes) so we shouldn't jump into any conclusion that fast.

It was small ground and when boundaries are that short, one have to be deadly accurate, one small mistake from bowler could turn into easy boundary.
I agree with everything that you said, but it still felt messed up watching South Africa destroy India when the target itself was great. Feels like the golden days of bowlers will never return at this rate.

Now there is a series going on in PAkistan against WZ, I wish to have matches b/w PAkistan and India.
Today we have seen a amazing moment when captain handed over his award to one of his team member. Amazing gesture by the captain.

Well... forget about it. India vs Pakistan is not going to happen for some time. No possibility of a bilateral series exists for another 10-15 years. At the most, we can have a few matches here and there during the ICC tournaments. And talking about such tournaments, one is just around the corner. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 is about to start in 4 months from now. And the good news is that India and Pakistan are placed in the same group for the Super-12. So at least one match is guaranteed during the tournament, and there is a possibility of more.
India and Pakistan match is a great entertainment - - but then again there are a lots of bets attached to them as well.
Not sure about now - but earlier it was a common statement after loosing the match - the match is fixed.

As a result of a dream chase by Miller and van der Dussen, the host team lost to the Indians despite setting a big target. Killer Miller literally destroyed their IPL mates thanks to their pathetic bowling. India's bowling card is poor due to ignoring its mainstream bowlers. They select a poor bowling selection. The decisions Pant makes demonstrate his immaturity as a captain. Only Rohit Sharma will lead India at the World Cup. In his team, he will have Bumrah and Shami, and I am anticipating a good outing.
The performance of Indian bowlers was very uncontrollable. South Africa lost their first wicket in the third over and their collection was 26 at the end of 3rd overs. At the end of 5 overs, South Africa lost only 1 wicket and collected 60 runs. If Bhumrah had been in the Indian squad, then perhaps the performance of the Indian bowlers would have been a little better. If the bowlers fail to perform well in the next match too, then India will lose again.
Bowlers are surely to be blamed as non of them were able to stop the run chase. Spinners were also useless on the pitch. The fielding of the Indian side was not that good too. Shreyas Iyer dropping an easy catch, if taken it might would have changes the game. Very disappointed with the overall performance of the Indian side.

Indian selectors thought that they can pick anyone for the XI and then win the match. The team balance was off, and inexperienced players couldn't perform well under pressure. Harshal Patel usually bowls well in depth overs, but he completely failed this time along with Axar Patel. Hardik Pandya conceded 18 runs in his only over, while Chahal went for more than 10 runs per over. In the end, despite the required run rate climbing up to 12-13 runs per over, none of the Indian bowlers could keep Miller and vd Dussen under control.

The current Indian squad lacks quality bowlers across all formats and the same applies to South Africa too. India clearly missed someone like Bumrah who is a game-changing bowler.

On the other hand, both teams have some amazing batsmen which doesn't really require a lot of improvement. I don't think either of these teams will win the upcoming T-20 World Cup.

The team that played South Africa is not having a great bowling strength to play in South Africa but when it comes to World Cup matches,  the team changes completely with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami back in the team and they have other bowlers that are yet to debut which i have high hopes to perform in South African pitches and i am expecting a good outing in the upcoming World Cup from India and South Africa.
