They have history of punching above their weight in the limited overs and like every other team they also enjoy stronghold in tests at home turf. Unfortunately media never gave kiwis players much footage, one example is Ross taylor. Taylor average above 45ish in test and ODI but we never hear much about him.
It is true that Ross Taylor always flies under the radar, just now i checked his profile and his ODI average is 48.44 which was surprising and i thought his biggest issue was his inconsistency and lack of performance in big matches.

Pakistan was lucky to win the toss and after loosing two matches and the series defending the team total and failed miserably and now they was able to somehow win the match chasing the score and when i was watching the match i thought Pakistan would loose the close match as they were loosing wickets but somehow chased down the target.

The main Pakistan bowlers are getting trashed and until they are able to pick wickets or restrict the run flow there is nothing you can do, either you get the toss and bowl first and try to chase, defending the total is a dream for Pakistan  Cheesy.
It looks like the Pakistan captain was following your posts as they won the toss and put the opposition to bat first and then chased down the total and won the match  Cheesy.

All the credits goes to Mohammad Rizwan for batting till the 19th over and scoring at a good pace and then Iftikhar Ahmed finished the final finishing job, it was an unexpected win as always with Pakistan.

Finally Pakistan got a consolation win in New Zealand. Good for them! Two South African imports (Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips) scored more than half of the New Zealand total of 173, but Pakistan managed to chase it down with two balls to spare (thanks to 89 from Mohammad Rizwan). BTW, the player of the series award went to Tim Seifert of New Zealand.

But still they done very good work for this all because few years back we have not much interest in cricket from here as Kiwis was Rugby lovers but currently some good and strong domestic system bring good number of youngs in this and they are dominant in last few years back to back to finals lost is not problem as goood thing now they have good quality cricketers.

Despite its limited talent pool, New Zealand has always managed to find very good pace bowlers, starting from the time of Sir Richard Hadlee. Only batting was a concern for them, with New Zealand producing world class pacers such as Shane Bond, Trent Boult, Danny Morrison and Chris Cairns. Now with players such as Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson, they have improved on the batting department as well.

Whatever is the situation the New Zealand cricket board is able to pick the most suitable and talented players to represent their nation, for a long time they were looked upon as a dark horse but now they have a really great team that could challenge any team and they need to groom the younger players as well to continue this journey.

New Zealand is now a world class side with world class players. In terms of revenue generation, cricket is still dominated by the big 3 (India, Australia and England). But in terms of performance, now it has become big 4 (big 3 + New Zealand). A huge gap exists between these four countries and the remaining 8 test playing nations. And this actually surprises me, because New Zealand has a population of only 4 million.

New Zealand now has the depth in their player pool, and at least part of this should be attributed to the massive influx of players from other countries. With the Kolpak option getting phased out in England, New Zealand has emerged as the primary option for the white players from South Africa. More than a dozen of them are currently playing domestic cricket in NZ. Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips were part of the team that beat Pakistan today and the playing XI also included Ish Sodhi (who was born in India).

It is surprising that after playing so many warmup matches and getting enough time to get acclimatized to the local conditions, Pakistan is still performing in such a pathetic manner. New Zealand is playing without some of their key players such as Kane Williamson and Lockie Ferguson and still they are able to win consecutive matches. The last T20I match will be played tomorrow and I don't expect any miracle from Pakistan.

I agree with you. Pakistan is failing to find new talent. And they are not able to produce talented players properly because of internal problems within their management. Firstly, they have to make the board free from corruption. Secondly, they have to solve their internal problems. And thirdly, they need to increase the number of domestic leagues. Only then will they find more new talent.

Rather than increasing the number of domestic leagues and domestic teams, they need to have a standard first-class system, similar to the one the y have in England or Australia. IMO, the main issue is that their 4-day domestic tournament (Quaid-i-Azam Trophy) doesn't have the required quality. Also, they are changing the format every now and then, and therefore there is no stability. A total of 16 teams participated in this tournament during the 2018–19 season. One year later, the number of teams were cut down to just six. Despite the reduction in the number of teams, the quality of cricket has remained the same.

The Pakistan team is now devastated. Earlier, we were anxiously waiting to watch Pakistan's matches. Because they had some world class bowlers in their team. They had some hard hitter batsmen like Afridi. We enjoyed watching them play. Now watching Pakistan play is just a waste of time. The team is now in such a bad condition due to the corruption of the board.

It is true that Pakistan no longer have world class bowlers of the calibre of Wasim Akram or Shoaib Akhtar in their squad. The management failed to find young talent, after the legends retired. One reason for this may be the poor shape of their domestic cricket. The format of Pakistani domestic cricket is constantly being changed and this actually has a detrimental impact.

Pakistan cricket team are passing very crucial time right now. Pakistan team management have made wrong move recently, putting too much pressure on players if someone fails, they will drop him from the team just like they dropped Amir. Politics and rivalry among players play a prominent part in the way Cricket runs in the subcontinent. Pakistan Cricket Board have to work on it.

New Zealand showed that they could win with without Kane Williamson against Pakistan and they dominated both the T20 matches and apart from their spinner Faheem Ashraf none of the bowlers could stamp their domination against the New Zealand batsman and they will white wash the series. Pakistan needs to improve their fielding and support their bowlers if they want to be competitive.

Seifert and Kane Williamson are taking this game away from pakistan. Although hafeez played well in the first innings but seifert is playing equally better than him and newzealand are not losing wickets on the other side which give him opportunity to play more freely and aggressively.

Not just the board or the management, the player themselves seems to be divided or at least that what Mohammad Amir suggested during his retirement.
Come on mate. It's nothing new. I have been watching this for years now for a long time since the time of Shoib Akhtar. They hardly had a good inner combination I think and that's what make the team a trash.

Personal differences can exist within a team and I don't find anything unusual about it. Not just Pakistan, but other teams have also their fair share of internal squabbles. But the trick is to make sure that these quarrels remain within the team and it doesn't impact the performance. As far as I can see, the Pakistani team has managed to do that. Only a few players such as Amir are not happy with the current setup.

Pakistan team surely is a bit messed up now. Not just the board or the management, the player themselves seems to be divided or at least that what Mohammad Amir suggested during his retirement. Whenever people and their opinion becomes larger than the system and the selection procedure, you can't expect a strong team. This is not entirely a new thing in cricket but they should solve it as soon as possible.

This can happen, when the team is not performing well. When they are winning matches continuously, the players will have no issues in listening to the captain. But when they are losing matches consecutively the instinct is to put the blame on someone else and the captain and the management becomes the convenient scapegoats. It is OK for the players to make their complaints heard. But indiscipline should not be tolerated within the team.
