Despite the win today, I would still stick with my earlier statement. Zimbabwe doesn't deserve their full member status, and they need to be relegated to associate status. Keeping Zimbabwe as a full member is a great disservice to all those hard working associate teams, such as Scotland, Netherlands, Namibia and Nepal. Anyway, today's match was a very close one. Rather than an improvement in performance from Zimbabwe, it actually shows the inconsistency in performance from the Pakistan team.
Zimbabwe started playing cricket way before these nations like Scotland, Namibia and others started their Associate status and therefore ICC gave them a full member status at that time. However, it wouldn't make sense to take their full member status back from them, do we have any examples where the status was removed from the teams?
Also I think that in this match, the Pakistan team had more hand in losing this match as compared to the Zimbabwe team playing well to win it. Had there been a little better show by the Pakistan boys, it wouldn't be possible for Zimbabwe to experience a win.
