South Africa's chances look very slim now, after their upset defeat to Sri Lanka yesterday. Given that only two teams can qualify to the knockout stage from each group, they need to defeat both New Zealand and Australia to qualify. And another poor performance against Bangladesh will make it impossible to proceed to the semi-final stage. Only two out of the three in Group 1 (New Zealand, South Africa and Australia) can qualify for the next phase, since the tournament format is designed that way. BTW, tomorrow we have the most important match of the tournament, between India and Pakistan.

Actually, it should have been easier for Sri Lankan women to win this match. In the end, it was possible for them because they kept wickets in hand. Otherwise, I do not think they would have been able to actually win this match. But at the same time, it was a little surprising to me that they were not able to go more even though they had a lot of wickets in hand. And South African women were unable to do that.

I was also expecting same teams could be in top four but now after watching first match of this event now changing my mind because Sri Lankan done good job and have impressive win against host and good team South Africa with now we have Australia, New Zealand and Bangladesh in this group most chances New Zealand and Australia will be qualifiers and home team had to settle for the third spot in this group but with this result now things could be interesting, and we can expect good entertaining matches from few teams as well which will create good hype for this format in women's cricket in other group most chances we will have England and India as the qualifiers for the last four spots. The only match I am interested in watching is on the 12th of this month. South Africa is far better as a team than Srilanka. They are also one of the world cup's favorites as the world cup is being played in South Africa, home ground advantage cannot be ruled out. The other three teams to watch out for in this tournament are Australia, England, Newzealand, and India.
