The first innings of the 5th match of the India vs Australia T20 series has ended. Australia won the toss and decided to bowl, bowling brilliantly from the start to keep India under pressure. None other than Shreyas Iyer was able to score a half-century, he was dismissed for 53 runs off 37 balls. Rinku Singh was in great form but got out for just 6 runs today, Suryakumar Yadav got out for just 5 runs. Today the Indian batting line has been very bad today. Australia have a chance to win today as they need to score 161 off 120 balls. Australia came down to bat with a target of 161 runs and so far have scored 40 runs in 4 overs with the loss of 1 wicket. At this moment, Australia is under pressure after losing an important wicket. If Travis Head and Ben McDermott do well, Australia can win easily. I think Australia has more chances to win today. Do you think Australia can win?
In the fifth T20, the Australian captain won the toss and decided to field first. Early on, Australia's bowlers put more pressure on the Indian batsmen. Australia managed to stop India within 160 runs. Australia is batting at a target of 161 runs. Australia now need 113 runs off 90 balls. I think if Australia batsmen can bat well then Australia will win today's match very easily. Australia's current score is 47 runs for 2 wickets with 5 overs to play.

Vaccinized.. immunity level is full.
Australia is batting at a target of 161 runs. Target is not too big. However, the Australian batsmen are batting aggressively from the beginning of the innings. Australia's batsmen should bat responsibly. Beating India in this match would not be a difficult task for the Australian batsmen if they could stay at the crease.

Australia collected 48 runs in the first 5 overs. At an average of around 10 runs per over, they lost the wickets of openers Travis Head and Philippe. If Australia lose two more wickets in the next 5 overs, then they will be under pressure and it will be difficult for them to win this match. Mukesh Kumar and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets.

It was a good toss win for Australia. Wickets are continuously tumbling for India. They are now 5 down for 97 runs. Australians are bowling in the right channels. Shreyas Iyer is playing sensibly and needs to be on the crease till the end if India wants a respectable target to defend.
I do not see any major reshuffle in the Indian T20I team after this series, as none of the youngsters is ready to replace the existing batsmen in the team.
The win or loss of the match will not have any effect on either team but naturally Australia will want to ensure their victory in this match as they have already lost 3 matches. They will definitely try to keep the 3-2 position by the last match. But the first innings score is in a position where either team can win or lose. 160 is not a big score in T20 cricket but there is no room to think of it as a small score. Naturally, betting sites have placed Australia at the top as they have already lost 3 matches in this series. As such, the Australian team will definitely want to end the series with having a win in the last match.

In the 5th T20I, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl and India batted. Batting in the first innings, the Indian team collected 160 runs, losing 8 wickets, compared to other matches, the Indian team did not perform very well in today's match. However, in today's match, the young players of India played under a lot of pressure and did not play so well due to their own reasons, so they did not score many runs. However, in today's match, maybe the Australian team won't be able to win the match by batting in the second innings because they don't have that much pressure. We know India have already won three matches and they have enough to win the series now they don't need any more. India team will win their series even if they lose today's match but even if Australia team win today's match it will be of no use because if they win today's match they will win only two matches so they will not be able to win the series. And India are in great form to clinch the series in today's match and it looks like it will be very difficult for Australia to score 161 runs.

Looks like this match will go to the Australians since India will likely end up posting a score close to 160 which should be chased successfully unless they collapse like dominoes in my opinion.

It's a pointless match for both teams though, but it's useful for the newbies who can gain more experience in this format.

It will not be easy for Australia to win today's match as well. The pitch is not batting friendly. Even in the last match we saw that Australia lost by 20 runs, the target of 175 runs given by India.

India's team collected 160 runs in 20 overs. Iyer and Axar Patel formed a crucial partnership at a time when the team needed it. Iyer scored 53 runs off 37 balls and Patel got out with 31 runs off 21 balls. We don't see a good performance from Captain Suryakumar Yadav. His performance in the previous matches was also not satisfactory. Today he collected only 5 runs off 7 balls. If the bowlers do well, India still has a chance to win. But the chances of Australia winning are high.

Normally Indian players don't announce their retirements publicly or early despite getting clear mszs from the selectors due to their deals with ad agencies as it could hurt brands a bit. One of the reasons many cricketers delay their official retirements. Management does move on and reasons could vary from case to case but it's up to players if they want to announce or not. Even the likes of Kaif, Raina publicly announced their retirement quite late.

If I am not wrong then Dhoni did announce his retirement from tests in 2014-15 and in white ball cricket official retirement came around 2020.

Maybe because they believe they have the capabilities to play more and they do not want to retire too early. Most of the time subcontinent players do not announce retirement for this reason. But the problem is, the cricket board does not respect them well. I haven't seen many retirement announcements from sub-continent players where the board organized anything special for them.

If you talk about Bangladeshi players, most of them announce their retirement in social media or TV media without discussing anything with the board. The reason is, players wanted to continue but the board selectors never try to convince them.

It's a dead rubber so doesn't matter if India wins or not but for Iyer it's an important match or may add Chahar into the same mix.
No ser, he gone back home for medical emergency.
Lol when did that happen? The dude was on the roster before the toss.
I only tuned in during toss, Surya said he went home, you can check playing 11.

Just now Surya gone and India 46-3, I wanted to see Rinku and Jitesh's batting so I'm quite ok with this quick fall of wickets Tongue

Should have given Shivam Dubey chance to play today.
Oh no Rinku Singh out at 6.
I thought Rinku Singh would play a good innings in today's match but unfortunately he got out for just a personal six. But Jitesh Sharma and Shreyas Iyer have managed to form a good partnership. If the next overs can be dealt with properly then the team runs can be 160 plus.

Again Jitesh Sharma 24 runs off 16 ball , unfortunately He out.

The Indian team stumbled at the beginning of the innings today. The team lost 4 batsmen for just 55 runs. With the help of Jitesh Sharma's 16-ball 24 runs and Shreyash Iyer's unbeaten 27-ball 34 runs, India managed to collect 115 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 16 overs. The way India started the innings, they are playing quite well now. If he can score 50 runs in the last 4 overs, then the match will be competitive. A target of more than 160 on this pitch will give India a chance to win the match. But if the target is less than 160, we will probably see the dominance of the Australian batsmen today. But since India has already won the series 3-1, today's match is not important for India.

Yea ser, not the batting I expected today. All hopes on Shreyas now, if he stays on crease India can make 150 otherwise that will be too tough.

BTW, does anyone else like Nathan Ellis bowling action?

Today is the last T20I and India already won the series so outcome of today's game not much important for any team. Aussies will try to win today's game to finish 3-2 rather then going with 4-1. Third game was thriller and apart from that it's all happening in Indias favor. My guess is India will win today's game also as Aussies are not much excited for this series. They are already tired due to ODI world cup.
Yes ,you are right. India is much stronger than Australia. Australia won the World Cup in India. They defeated India very well. Indian team can't forget this World Cup. Indian fans became hopeless after losing World Cup final. Australia cricketer Travis head changed the trend of winning World Cup in home ground. Now, India is in difficult situation. Indian score is 77 with fall of 4 wickets. Shreyas Iyer  is not out on 22 runs in 17 balls.Raturaj made 10 runs in 12 balls and Jaiswal made 21 runs in 15 balls. Suryakumar Yadav made 5 runs in 7 balls and Rinko made 6 runs in 8 balls .

^^ Looks like a tough wicket to bat on, the ball was swinging and doing some magic at the start. Wish they had gone for such wickets at the start for more meme material and maybe to test new batting talents.

Moreover, after today's fifth and last t20 match, all Australian players will leave, so there is no need to bring back any new players from Australia.
Of course Australia is a much stronger team in T20 but losing the T20 series with India does not mean that Australia is bad in T20. If Australia had experienced players, it would have been much more competitive with India in T20.

Well, the squad was already announced, so why would they call a new player from Australia?
All main Australian players are in Australia gearing up for the test match series against Pakistan, so they decided not to waste their energy on this bilateral series and gave their players much-needed rest after two months of continuous cricket. The same is true for India.

Well said. Almost all Indian batsmen are performing really well, but very bowlers like Axar etc are performing well which is their major weak point. On the other hand, Australia's batting and bowling departments are struggling.

India has a better chance at winning the ICC WC 2024 when compared to Australia if you ask me.

You are talking about the Australian team with major key players missing. Most of their main bowlers, let alone batsmen, are not playing the series. You are inferring all your analysis based on a bilateral series. Look at the Australian team's performance in the recent World Cup. Australians are the absolute beasts of ICC tournaments.
In the T20 World Cup, you can not predict the outcome this early because even the associate nations are playing good T20 cricket.
After winning the ICC World Cup 2023, most of the Australian players have gone to their country, so all but two old players have got a new chance in the T20 series. Maxwell and Stoinis were there till the third match but they also left. Since they have already lost the T20 series, there is no need to re-induct any old players into the squad. Moreover, after today's fifth and last t20 match, all Australian players will leave, so there is no need to bring back any new players from Australia.
