I have to say that the hat trick in the last over from Karim Janat was not because he was balling incredibly well. It was because the Bangladesh batsmen were not playing good shots. I agree that Miraz got out on a decent ball. And it was still a bad shot. Baskin got out, chasing a literally wide ball. Nasum got out trying to uppercut and didn’t connect properly. Luckily, Shoriful was able to hit the ball for four and win the match for Bangladesh. I was actually a little afraid when I saw this message going to the tailenders of Bangladesh. And, in the end, Bangladesh was able to win.

The way Afghanistan started their innings I thought they would end their innings by 130. But they managed to set a decent target of 155 runs. I would say the performance of the Afghanistan batsmen was quite good. Had Rashid Khan batted a little better, Afghanistan could have given a target of 170.
Bangladesh could not start their innings well. But in the end, they won. Azmatullah Omarzai batted well. He scored 33 runs. However, Afghanistan did not get better bowling from Azmatullah. He gave 34 runs in 3 overs. This is also one of the reasons for Afghanistan's defeat.

No batsman of Bangladesh could score a half century but these two batsmen Tawhid Hridoy (47) and Shamim Hossain (33) played a very important role in the victory of the team despite not getting a half century. I don't think a score of 154 at the Bangladesh venue is reliable. However, since Afghanistan have some of the world's best bowlers, they are capable of beating any team, which is why any small score can be competitive. Although Afghanistan lost the last T20 match, the condition of the Bangladesh team also started to deteriorate. They had to lose 8 wickets and bowl 19.5 overs to win that match.

Last over hat-trick from Karim Janat bring some thrill into the match, but there was not enough chance for the Afghanistan to have anything positive from here now second match is going to be had tough fight.

Not a bad team for the Asian Games. In fact, it looks solid squad. Many names will feature in the national team for sure.

Guess the transition phase has started, if that's the case then kudos to selectors and new head selector Ajit Agarkar. He does have a reputation as "no nonsense" guy. Let's hope he takes some hard calls during his new gig.
