I was going through the IPL 2023 points table and found CSK is the number one team for now.

This led me to think about How CSK is winning matches? They have bowlers who have zero/least exposure to International cricket. I went ahead and check the stats of Deshpande, Akash & Pathirana.

Pathirana15620
Deshpande0141627
Akash05520

While every other team had to bid for bowlers. MSD is busy creating new bowlers.

Everything was going the right way for MI until Abhinav Manohar came to bat. Watching him bat with Miller was absolutely mind blowing. I never expected GT to even reach 150 but these two led their team to go beyond 200. From MI it was Nehal Wadhera who gave some hope in the last overs. If he had got proper support from the other end then MI would have chased the target more efficiently. Poor form of MI batters has crippled them in this season.

Ishan Kishan's poor form is the no.1 concern for Mumbai Indians. They spend so much money to bring him to the squad and he hasn't made any contributions with the bat so far in this season. Rohit Sharma is hardly getting any support from the other batsmen. Suryakumar Yadav is another MI batsmen who has been out of form. He made 23 yesterday, but couldn't convert the start he got to a good score. Cameron Green crawled to 33 from 26 balls, but his innings was not ideal when the required rate was over 10 runs per over.

KKR VS RCB
KKR and RCB will play their eighth match today. KKR have lost 4 of their last four matches whereas RCB have won three of their last four matches and lost one which means RCB has been far ahead in terms of recent performances. Not Performance RCB is currently fifth in the points table.
Even if KKR wins against RCB today, their points table won't change much but if RCB wins against KKR today, they can make a chance to move to the third position in the points table.

But the RCB batting line app is completely dependent on three batsmen. All but three batsmen should take responsibility. Because depending on these three, a team can never win a trophy in an event like IPL.

Pakistan VS New Zealand

The fifth and final T20 match between Pakistan and New Zealand was truly spectacular. After Pakistan scored 193 runs in the first innings, New Zealand succeeded in chasing the target of 194 runs. New Zealand reached their target with four balls in hand.

The fifth T20 match was a do or die match for New Zealand as if New Zealand lost today's match they would have lost the T20 series to Pakistan. After New Zealand lost the first two matches, there was a big fear of losing the series for New Zealand. But they have come out stronger against Pakistan since the third match. Although the fourth T20I was abandoned due to rain, in the fifth T20I, they defeated Pakistan.

Md Rezwan played an important unbeaten innings of 98 runs for Pakistan in the fifth T20I. Relying on his unbeaten innings of 98 runs, Pakistan reached a huge target of 193 runs.

Mark Chapman's storming innings of 104(57) saw Pakistan lose by 6 wickets to New Zealand. Chapman was named Man of the Match for the match and Man of the Series for the tournament.

When we see the results and the below picture sometime later in the future, we may say that the T20 series was drawn and the trophy was shared between the two captains but the fact is that I will consider this as a loss for the Pakistan team. They can't defend 190+ targets after getting some quick wickets is a serious question on their bowling performance.

The smile on Babar Azam's face doesn't suit him   Angry

It's a big loss and still no worries on face of Babar Azam. We are used to such pictures after every home series since last year. If such NZ team which is without its main player can draw a series against Pakistan then imagine fate of Pakistan against fully loaded NZ squad. Muhammad Rizwan just took single and doubles since he entered in 80s else Pakistan could have scored around 225. Rawalpindi pitch is known for big targets.

Seems like Rizwan was willing to play for his own century and do not care about the team's cause. Still, he was unable to make his century and fell two runs short. He remains not out at 98. How unlucky is that?
Also, he took 62 balls to score 98 runs. The strike rate was almost 158 which is not bad but since he batted for the full 20 overs, he could have increased the pace at the end but instead, he become a little bit cautious for his own 100 runs milestone.

You are right Rizwan had a chance to perform better. But he didn't want to take any risks. Responsible batting. A bit slower batting but I would say he has done well. Because if Rizwan was out, it would have been difficult for Pakistan to collect 190 runs. The performance of any batsman in Pakistan is not regular. And so if Rizwan is out, it cannot be said that any other batsman would have been able to perform well.
However, Pakistan was defeated because of the stupidity of the bowlers. Pakistani bowlers gave 77 runs in 11th-15th over. And because of bad bowling in these 5 overs, they lost

I get it, fans on Twitter can be very mean and distasteful but you have to stay professional when doing post-match interviews in front of millions of spectators, this hardly looks good and sits well among all sets of fans.
He is gutsy and dumb at the same time. He just gave them even more ammunition to target him since he only delivered one great performance among all matches so far. His behaviour with some of his teammates was rude too. He won't go far with this mindset.
Exactly, no one likes this kind of attitude in professional cricket. Even Indian players like Hardik etc had to tone down and completely change their personalities after a few fuckups.

I am not aware of his attitude towards his teammates and it's news to me but if it's true then it's a big red flag for his career. I really wish this early success doesn't get to his head.

GT is spanking MI thanks to Miller, Manohar, Gill and Tewatia. Am expecting MI to come close and lose this one.
I was feeling better about MI bowlers as they were doing decent job in early overs, but last three overs change the match momentum and GT have enough runs on board for having win and 10 points from 7 matches because now these 55 runs which scored in 18 balls by Tewatia and David Miller.

If we have good start from MI then things could be interesting for next one hour otherwise most chances GT will be at upper hand and MI which is already having problems going to be face problems in this big chase with their chances for the playoff are also going to be slim because they are already had poor start in early rounds and future matches are also going to be more tough as things are going interesting for the race of last four.

Gujarat Titans showed enough good game their batting performance was excellent. Gujarat Titans collected 207 runs in the match losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shubman Gill was in good form and his batting performance was excellent as he scored a half century. Gujarat Titans batted best towards the end of the game and their score was highest today. Rahul Tewatia was the best finisher in the last few overs of the game. David Miller also had a great batting performance but if he could have lasted a little longer there would have been more runs. But in today's match, if Mumbai Indians can't do a good batting performance, they definitely won't be able to win the match. To win this match, Mumbai Indians must put up a great batting performance and move forward with wickets in hand.

SRH keeps sinking and I feel that they will end up at the bottom of the table at this rate. Harry Brook might be a superstar in international cricket, but he is playing like a complete amateur in the IPL.

DC bounced back in spectacular fashion despite struggling at 75/5 at one stage. However, they only won thanks to SRH's mediocre batting line-up.

Sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with the expectations. Happened to Kyle Jamieson in one of the previous seasons. Even then, he hasn't done that poorly. He scored an unbeaten 100 against the Kolkata Knight Riders two weeks ago, which enabled Sunrisers Hyderabad to win that match (one of their two wins so far in this season). But apart from that solitary innings, Brook doesn't have a single score in excess of 20. None of the Hyderabad batsmen have so far scored a total of 200 runs in this season. Agarwal, Brook and Tripathi have totals of 164, 163 and 160 runs respectively.
Kyle Jamieson had a poor run and played only one season, it happens every time even with some Indian players. Sometimes players get the hype and franchise inflate their prices in a bidding war.

Harry Brook is an exciting talent same as Jamieson but he has to prove his price tag as competition is tough for foreign player slots. Meanwhile, a little bit of humility could help his case, I've noticed his statement when he made his maiden ton in IPL "There's a lot of Indian fans out there who'll say well done tonight. But they were slagging me off a few days ago. Glad I could shut them up to be honest[/i]".

Babar Azam's performance in this series was not good. Still, after winning the first two matches, I don't think Pakistan can't win the series. I expected Pakistan to win in the last match as well. Despite setting a huge target of 194 runs, they were defeated. The performance of the bowlers was uncontrollable. This is the main reason for defeat. In 5 overs of the power play, New Zealand managed to collect only 27 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. And at the end of 10 overs, their collection was only 73 runs. Then New Zealand won the match with the help of Mark Chapman's defiant batting.

Something wrong with Pakistan in T20 format. They lost the series against Afghanistan (one of the weaker sides), and now they have tied the series 2-2 with New Zealand. And it's not like they didn't had enough runs on board. 193/5 is a very decent total and Mohammad Rizwan really toiled hard to take them there. And the match was firmly in Pakistan's grasp until James Neesham joined Mark Chapman for the 5th wicket. Suddenly world class bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf started spraying the ball all over the crease and in the end the Kiwis handed out yet another humiliation for Pakistan.

Babar Azam's expression says it all. Let's me guess he's happy because they narrowly avoided another home series defeat. The result would have been different if it was New Zealand A team. As for Babar's captaincy, I think he didn't show a lot of aggression when it came to batting. That could have been a factor in their defeat.

Interestingly, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has a great record when it comes to chasing. This suggests that the ground will favor New Zealand side as they'll be batting second. So, I'll go for New Zealand.

9. SRH

KKR lost the first match by 7 runs using DLS method but KKR won consecutive matches in the next two matches. But in the next 4 matches Kolkata Knight Riders are losing streak and have played seven matches so far they have managed to collect four points only because of NRR KKR is at number 8 in the points table.
Sunrise Hyderabad lost the first match by 72 runs and lost the second match by 5 wickets but Sunrise Hyderabad picked up wins in the third and fourth matches, then the next three matches are consecutive defeats and like Kolkata they are also at the 9th position in the points table with four points from seven matches.
It is going to be a different story for Delhi Capitals, they have lost the first five matches in a row but they have won two consecutive matches in the sixth and seventh matches to stay at the bottom of the points table. If Delhi Capitals continue this winning streak, they can cross the knockout stage.

New Zealand didn't get off to a good start but they had some good batting players. Their wickets fell during the powerplay but Chapman and Neesham were instrumental in the match-winners to ensure New Zealand victory. Pakistan started a good over at the start and later New Zealand got the win thanks to their fast bowlers. Pakistani bowlers scored the most runs in overs number 11, 12, 13, 14. Here E Chapman secures a century and their victory is assured. Out of five matches, Pakistan won two, New Zealand won two and one match was postponed.

The Pakistani bowlers needed just one more wicket, but they were unable to take it. When Daryl Mitchell got out, New Zealand needed 121 runs to win from 10 overs, at required run rate of more than 12 runs per over. Mark Chapman and James Neesham started smashing the Pakistani bowlers left, right and center from this point and apart from Imad Wasim all the other bowlers went for plenty. I have pointed this out many times in the past, but the absence of a quality spin bowler is still hurting Pakistan. Imad bowled well yesterday, but after all he is a part-timer.

When we see the results and the below picture sometime later in the future, we may say that the T20 series was drawn and the trophy was shared between the two captains but the fact is that I will consider this as a loss for the Pakistan team.
