But, I ask, do you think this "restriction" should be lifted?
If you want any limit in storage and data consumption, you shouldn't lift it Wink

This. As any website could start to use it. Which means you could run into porn issues and or simply tons of images 10x or 100x. the volume could be overwhelming.

My bad if this has already been discussed but I have a feature request...

It would be great if we could upload images via url through the website somehow.  I see it's possible via other tools but being able to do so straight from the website might make it a little easier to post memes.

Since I started using talkimg.com here in BitcoinTalk. I also started using TalkImg.com in other forum. I check my posts before in the other forum using TalkImg.com and the posts are still good without any issue, errors or problems. Not only in altcointalks but other forums like buy and sell forum.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
I started using it recently, for other forums
You should not use Talkimg service for posting images on other forums, or they could be removed and deleted, this was stated by joker_josue.
Talkimag should be used only for uploading images on bitcointalk forum.

Well, I'm not going to delete/removed these images that are uploaded.
The issue is that the server is configured to only accept traffic coming from Bitcointalk. That doesn't mean it doesn't work on other forums. I just can't guarantee that they always work.

But, I ask, do you think this "restriction" should be lifted?

i would be cautious about unlimited access for other sites as seems it would be easier to abuse and that could cause bct image issues.

maybe some officially whitelisted sites with full privileges with others on a "maybe, maybe not" status with some sort of throttling.

That actually make sense, talkimg images posted in altcoinstalks loads too long, you can observe it when you load a thread with talkimg image on it that the browser tab is still loading and the lower left/right of the browser has "Transfering data from talkimg.com.." for too long.

But, I ask, do you think this "restriction" should be lifted?
If there's no downside on the server and no legal issue (copyrights) (well you can mention it on the website terms), why not?

Do not rush to lift that restriction.

bitcointalk needs to be a priority until you know you are established.

shoot me a pm let me know how you are doing with income on this project. I can send some more coin if needed. I have a decent signature so sending you 1 of  every 5 weeks is possible

Wow, this is a great service.
Why doesn’t it get applied to every image uploaded to Talkimg?
If it is bigger than 2.5 Mb then zip, else upload directly.
Yes, I know.
Everything has a cost, but you wouldn’t apply the zip workload to every image, but olny, to those too large.

In reality, this is what I intend to implement. But this model is still in BETA mode, to check how everything works, and then I still have to do some tests, to understand how I can integrate it into the final platform.

For now I am preparing to implement the correction of some errors, and then I will try to explore this element. Until then, feel free to use the ZIP version whenever necessary.  Wink

I was wondering does the resize occur when uploading and I haven't encountered the file size error previously simply because none of my other images have come directly from my phone's camera?

(And how can I specify an image resize via an android browser such as Tor?)

Thanks again.

The main site does not resize to the size of a file. But...
Try using the zip service I have available, here:

Hello again, I'm on the road for a few days and have seen a couple of things Rugby related which I was hoping to upload to the talking.com web site direct from my phone (for use in the Rugby Bitcoin gambling thread here on the forum). However, I can't see an option to resize whilst selecting the images to upload and your site says the images are too big which is fair enough.

I was wondering does the resize occur when uploading and I haven't encountered the file size error previously simply because none of my other images have come directly from my phone's camera?

(And how can I specify an image resize via an android browser such as Tor?)

Thanks again.

No and no. So far the site is all goods now in mobile, idk later in desktop and thanks for the respond.
If the problem persists on your desktop, try checking if there is an add-on or extension interfering with the way the site loads. You can open a new window in Private or incognito mode and try visiting the site once again.

How strange. According to the verification site, the service has been functional for several days in a row:

Yes, i usually didn't mind things like this since i know it was temporary, i know what could be other possible reasons and solutions (on my end)  but it already takes much longer than i thought so i start asking.
Btw that's a nice uptime status webpage.

Are you using any VPN? Or are you using Tor?

I just checked, working perfectly normal here. And it was working normally earlier today as well, with no issues whatsoever.
Really? Then there's something wrong on my end (using desktop), i checked the site after receiving a tg notification from you, now using mobile (earlier was desktop) although i can access the site now but it takes at least 10-15 seconds, but still good though unlike earlier where i access the site for several times but no good.

I haven't had any access issues either.
