Any god might exist. Why not? There are so many religions and each of them is the "only" true one. Gods make sense only while people believe in them.

Because religions are created by people because they could not explain everything. Now everything can be explained with the help of science, and religions are only a historical document.

Science really cant explain everything that is the thing that you should know about science. Yes of course they are true with everything they said that has proof but when they cant explain it they will just give a theory

^^^^^ Normal atheism is always a lie. But it comes close to existing truthfully in people who have not ever heard the idea of the existence of something called "God."

Out of the normal relaxed atheism, as it used to be, we seams to have a growing branch of a special "atheists" that act as much as the next religious fanatic!

This "special atheists", pretty much common at US, so we can call them "American Atheists" (or AA) act like if they can't live without strict good and evil, they uphold their beliefs as it were the supreme truth, like to call it facts and often scientific facts to things science doesn't even come close to, such as human philosophic affairs.
Let's then start to examine this "new religion":

- It's mostly based on "studies" from "experts".

As result there are now thousands of concurrent "studies", most without any scientific value at all (sample too small, bias interpretation of data, non-repeatability, and so on) and paradoxical to its peers, and here, as religious do, they cherry pick the "studies" they found convenient to their belief.

- Anyone denying "MY" facts is an idiot.

The "supreme morality" of the group makes them so wise... It looks like they don't believe there's no God, but instead there's a job vacancy for being God and they want to apply for it.

- If you're not with us, then you're against us!

This is common ground to religious fanatics, they deal quite harshly to any criticism on their views. Moderation is out of the scope.

- The Dogma

The so called harmful part of religions isn't their crosses, crescents, yin-yangs or whatever symbols they use, isn't also praying - praying is somewhat the psychologist of the poor -, but the dogma: The incontestable truths they are meant to react violently if challenged! And in here, the AA's have a LOT of them!
Some are taking just as "to look opposite of what they recognize as their opponents", for AA's this means Christians, such as being "pro-choice", others are plain bull as feminism, lgbt rights, free-for-all economics and so on...

It won't surprise me that in a short these groups start to resource terrorism.
Please enlighten him

So far, the questions that science answers have only been opening up a whole lot of other questions that had not been asked. Science is kinda backward in answering questions.

Atheists more pragmatic approach to faith. If the existence of God is not possible to prove, why believe in him. I don't understand the motives of believers. They also do not see evidence for the existence of God, then why believe in him?

If the existence of God is not possible to disprove, and you know it, why attempt to believe that He doesn't exist. Why not simply say "I don't know?"

Atheists might have a more pragmatic approach to faith. But they don't believe that God doesn't exist like they say that they believe. Rather, if they are honest people, they believe that they don't know if God exists or not... because they can't prove that He doesn't, and there are lots of places and opportunities for God TO exist.

Do you know for a fact that the precautions you take to remain healthy are going to work? No, not for sure. But you take them, anyway.

Do you know for a fact that God doesn't exist? Perhaps not. But it is totally unwise to disallow Him with something like atheism, when you know that you might be wrong, and might be winding up fighting against a being Who is way more powerful than you are.

If you think you know that God doesn't exist, prove it. Simple talk proves nothing. Adamant talk based on nothing is religion.

Cool
You are trying to find evidence to the contrary. You don't just believe in the existence of God you believe in that he is able to do something. But you have never seen examples of his work. So I guess it is not.

Prove that God doesn't exist, then. Since you can't, He might exist. Atheism fails. People who say that they are atheists are only trying to be atheists. They aren't really. Of course, we can change the definition of atheism.

The only possible "respect" religious people can be entitled is to private practice, in short being stupid is a right, but in the moment they try to impose something on society based on their irrational God(s) they don't.

And it is the atheism religion that suggests that there is no God. It doesn't suggest that there might be a God somewhere. It flatly and out-rightly suggests that there is no God.

Bold and ignorant people suggest the same. But anyone that has a fraction of realization about how frail people are, realizes that he absolutely can't know that God doesn't exist... even if he can't put his finger on where or how God exists.

Actually, all atheists understand this about God, way down deep. All their adamant crying about the stupidity of believing in God, exists only so that they can strengthen their stupidity in themselves. They know that they don't know if God exists or not. And they know that because of this atheism isn't what they believe in. Yet they try to believe in it. Why?

Why not rather try to find the truth and believe in it?

I  really dont understand their agenda. Well basically sorry to tell but mosf if the atheist that i know are weirdo honestly I am not saying that all of them are but as ive said most of them that i know are. They were basing on studies ok name it what so ever. Yet those who believe in God most of them also are basing on studies and also called an expert. The only that i could not understand is that why are they talking so much about Christianity, why not just be quite and respect those who believes on the existence

Well, cherry-picking is so common with religions.
But to turn to the cold stone here, so they are becoming with atheists, specially those who like to support themselves on "science".
There are many things for which science has no answer whatsoever, the honest answer to those things is "we don't know", but on there comes the market of pseudo-science, mainly the so called "studies".
"A study says this", "a study says that"... this market of studies comes for all shapes and sizes, and many many collisions. So what does this new batch of hardcore atheists do? Exactly the same any religious people do: they cherry-pick the ones that second their personal belief and sideline (if not with violence) those who don't.

I think that this picture that you found somewhere on the internet is nothing but a picture. It could be easily made by some people who do not support religion, or it could be made by some people that are stupid enough to believe in such things. Either way, its not something that is worth losing your belief. But we live in world of free will, so people will believe in all kind of things so ...

Do you believe God created Earth 6000-7000 years ago like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe God created man from dirt like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe God created woman from a rib bone like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe you believe a global flood happened 4000 years ago (killing everything that was not on the Noah's ark) like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe we should kill gays like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe we should kill people who work on Sabbath like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you might a Christian (and are slightly retarded).

The important point in the, above, questions is the part that says, "like the Bible says."

When you look at all the scientific reasons why many people think that we live on a young earth, and that billions of years  is complete nonsense, you will find that the Bible is way more accurate than standard science suggests.

The Bible doesn't say that God created man from dirt. Read what it says.

The Bible doesn't say that God created woman from a rib bone. However, it is way easier creating a woman from a rib bone than it is to form some dust of the ground into a man, and then breathe the breath of life into him.

The Bible doesn't say that a global flood happened 4000 years ago. If you want to see the approximate time the Bible says for it, look here: http://www.albatrus.org/english/theology/creation/biblical_age_earth.htm.

The Bible doesn't say we should kill gays. Did you see your name or the name of anyone else in there with the instruction for him/her to do this?

The Bible doesn't say we should kill people who work on the Sabbath. Or DID you find your name in there with that instruction?

Since the questions are essentially invalid questions, if you answered yes to any of those question, you might be a Jew or a Christian. You really need to go back and check out what the Bible says, thoroughly, like af_newbie obviously didn't.

Cool

I have not met one Jew who thinks that Earth was created 6000-7000 years ago or that the flood happened 4000-5000 years ago.  Only slightly retarded Christians believe in this shit.
Maybe some Orthodox lunatics do as well, not sure.   - Well, most Jews don't believe that Jesus was the Messiah, either. But they are way ahead of you. You barely have figured out that you aren't really an atheist.

In any case, it is nuts to believe in any of this shit.   - Since God guided the writing of those things you call shit, it would be extremely unwise to NOT believe it.

BTW, Bible says all of the above things.  If you think it doesn't you don't know your Bible. - You are unordinarily dense today.

Genesis 2:7
7 Then the Lord God formed a man[c] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. - Well, at least you could have found some words about God creating man if that's what you were trying to show us.

Genesis 2:21, 2:22
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. - Well, at least you could have found some words about God creating woman from a rib if that's what you were trying to show us.

Leviticus 20:13
13 If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. - Well, at least you could have found the place where my name or yours is listed, if you were trying to show that this directive was for you or me.

Exodus 31:15
15 For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death. - Well, at least you could have found the place where my name or yours is listed, if you were trying to show that this directive was for you or me.

Is the above clear to you BADecker?  Or you need to text your God to check the meaning of the above verses?

So going by your BADlogic,

How do you know the rest of the Bible is for you? Your name is not in the Bible, why do you even read it?

Great, we agree.  Bible was written by the Bronze Age people FOR THE BRONZE AGE people.

It is irrelevant today.  Never mind the discussion of imaginary beings...influencing your life...etc.  Just go see the psychiatrist.
He might be able to help you with your imaginary friend obsession.

Great. We agree. The parts of the Bible that were written for the ancient Hebrew people, were written for them. And the parts that were written for us, were written for us.

These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do. 2 Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.

Quote from: Exodus 31:12-15
The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: ‘Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever.  It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.  Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy.  Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community.  Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest.  I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’

The Bible doesn't say we should kill people who work on the Sabbath. Or DID you find your name in there with that instruction?

Cool

Jesus salvation thingy didn't have my name in there with that instruction.

So according to BADlogic, I can safely ignore that one too.  Wink

And I will.  Cheesy
