indeed a lot of similarities at the language level (as well as differences). however we take another step forward towards a logical discussion platform, and from there a discussion about the platform itself (self-amendment). in quite accurate and broad summary: tau is a large-scale discussion about tau. with all we see as required to make it happen.

there is a whitepaper (http://tauchain.org/tauchain.pdf) and plenty of code and materials (cf eg idni.org or github.com/naturalog/tauchain).
just the design was changed due to a mistake found (as published in the article "tau and the cirsis of truth"), so we have to write a new whitepaper, much enhanced this time.

Definitely one of the most interesting projects. The main question is if it can be pulled off or not with given resources and competition.
The slow progress literally forced me to put money into competitors.
However, I might invest some the galactic profits back to multiply my old Agoras holdings.

everything is very good, little flooded in the last week but that's just good news. our web designer & graphics guy works with me almost every day in my home.

no, and quite the contrary. the plan is to have majority (or nearly majority) of the coins to be sold after tau is ready and before agoras is ready (which is the moment when unsold coins will be burnt). we'll try to adjust it to happen by price raises (i.e. to avoid selling nearly majority of the coins beforehand)

Anyway. Considering that 1 agoras token equals 3500 future tau tokens, i'd consider buying tiny pieces over time until this really takes off. Not that i see the actual price as "dirty cheap" or the usual hyping yadda yadda, but this seems like a good coin for long term accumulation.

Anytime a coin forks two separate networks are generated, so as long as you don't lose your private key everything is ok.
As for claimability/functionality, it remains up to the token issuer to support the development of their project on either blockchain
