Technology is a gift from God that helps people live.

Thousands of years ago, people were a lot stronger. Look at the pyramids of Egypt... the gigantic blocks of stone that those people had to move without modern technology. Could we do it without modern technology today? People simply aren't as strong now as they were back then.

God has given us technology to help us with out weaknesses. Of course, some people use it for bad things - like war. But it helps many others in their weakness.

Traveling 100 miles before there were cars could tae a day, easily. Now it takes little more than an hour, with a car.

I can confirm, that's something that used to be absolutely awesome

it doesn't even compare to today's deluge of everything, accessible through a few clicks from your house. I've never actually bought any vinyl records, I'm talking about buying Mega Drive games in the early nineties as a kid. I would go to the store with my parents and I would be standing there for ages deciding on the game to pick for my birthday. These days, I still enjoy gaming a lot and I can get any game I want almost instantly but the thrill and fun of getting the game is completely gone Cry

Well it depends on the acceptation or vision of individuals also how we think about this things as we embrace the advance technology we need to accept the fact that in some reasons it benefits us ,advance technology helps us a lot .it made things work easier and faster.
Advance technology have advantage and disadvantage also it depends on how we use it and how it reflects on our daily lives .abusing so much use of technologies is not good in our health and mind like that wars,global warming, time for family we can manage this things as long as we are openminded about the things happening to us .

the disadvantage is that it takes employment of people, look here:

The machine is much better than people, It makes complex jobs in a few hours and at the same time takes employment of people.

Hitler did it wrong. There was no benefit in having concentration camps. The above picture shows how the new fascism is making strides in practicing doing it the right way.

The capitalistic model wants to maximize profits and the ideal situation for a company is to get all the profits without any workers at all. As the technological capabilities increase, those who cannot get skills that a machine cannot do will lose their job. Ultimately, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's only a matter of time before the technology is there to replace your job. If your job is complicated, you may have several decades until your retirement. There are some exceptions to this rule, like politicians, hookers, dentists, but I think 99% of the people do not fall within that range. On the long term capitalism cannot sustain itself because there are no longer people with money to buy the goods and services.

Technology may have the potential to save humanity on the long term, the sun has a limited lifespan and we need to move or find a way to survive if we as a species want to survive.
The damage done by technology may prevent a livable environment. The only certainty in life is that you are doomed, so have some fun along the way

I am for human life but not pro human life because I hate criminals they are not humans so it is better to punish them literary. But human life vs technology it is better to have man power in industry because it is the need of all people in the world JOB makes as alive. So if robut exist an average person will not get job.

You are free to move away from civilization and live as a hunter and gatherer. But imho even then you would need technology to survive (e.g. the knowlegde to make weapons).

I think that social media, cell phones and texts, and excess amount of other media have made teenagers lives pretty vapid.

What I mean, take away their phone, or even your phone for 24 hours, and monitor them. Every few seconds they're going to get the itch to check their updates on a bunch of stuff, see if anyone has written anything on Facebook, etc. But the phone is not there. They will get stressed out.

Then they're binge watching things on their phone, walking around the house watching one episode after another. Have to get up and pee, walks with the phone, or laptop in front of them. Up to season 3 episode 7. Ask them to tell you what happened 3 episodes ago, they won't remember because there was never any free time for the brain to process it and file it. Making it all a waste of time.

Technology is great, but before the internet, having limited time for things, like a tv show you like being set at a certain time. Those things were actually better.

Old question. Atomic power can produce cheap energy for millions but it can also kill millions. Besides high technology, a fork is very useful to eat but it can also hurt you real bad if someone pokes one in your eyes. Ultimately, technology is neutral, everything depends on the men using it.

Techonology makes the human life style easy. Like in communication, you can communicate to everybody around the world. Technology will have a bad effect if its use it in wrong doing, like in war.

How can technology possibly hurt anyone? People choose to use technology of their own free will, it's up to each and everyone to find their balance. You certainly can't blame lack of family time on technology. As for terrorism, well that's just an included bonus in the package, when you engineer an otherwise perfect balance to favor you, you gotta be smart enough to realize that the equation will still be balancing itself out beyond the illusory(?) comfort you've gained. One way or another.

The technology has nothing to do with the wars going on and all the other damage that our world is receiving. How did you post this thread? Using your smartphone, a desktop computer, or a laptop, right? Did your laptop slapped you after you hit the post button? It didn't. Same goes to the wars going on, global warming, terrorism, and our bad relationship to other human beings.

We are the ones who are hurting other people. We're just using the technology to hurt other people. For example, in a war, we can now use a nuclear bomb to hurt other people. We are the ones who are operating it, and we are the ones who had the intention to hurt other people. Not the technology itself.

Once the technology has taken all over the entire world, our methods of hurting each other will just be more efficient than it was. But the case would still be the same, it's the humans who hurt other humans.

I do not think that technology advancement is hurting us. Technology really helped us a lot. From medicine to our home everything was due to technology. It helps our lives so easy. The problem is that we rely in it too much that it makes us all lazy. We abuse the use of it that resulted to some bad effects like global warming and family relationships. We should know how to bakance things.

unfortunately people use the technology with intention to hurt the other. many countries are developing heavier weapons to destroy your enemy, many countries develop the most sophisticated equipment to spy on the enemy, more you develop the technology, the less freedom we have, reached an era where people have no freedom to express their thoughts on social media, in newspapers, on tV or on the street.

You can see that in many city has cameras for surveillance, are it very efficient to fight crime, but take people's freedom.

It is without a doubt benefiting us. But to a certain extent, and maybe in the near future, it will start hurting us. Such as human conversation becoming completely obsolete due to the overuse of social media and cell phones.

Yes for me. I mean technology is like control my self, especially gadget and internet.
I can't stay away from gadget, i think like 10 hours a day, I always with my gadget. And I like crazy if I lost my gadget.
But I still can't use gadget for good good profit.
