Gilles Simon retired and bid farewell to the tennis world after losing to Felix Auger, he could have done well yesterday and beat Fritz but today Felix dominated it wasn't a tight match especially in the first set.
Looking forward to the next match of N. Djokovic vs. K. Khachanov, I thought it would be a two sets match and Djokovic won it, this year he hasn't participated in many tournaments but that doesn't affect him at all even since the wimbledon champion he hasn't been defeated

Carlos Alcaraz - Grigor Dimitrov

I Think Carlos Alcaraz will win the game, although he had an injury that was not even expected to participate in this tournament, he managed to participate and won the world number 38 Yoshihito Nishioka, so that gives me hope that Carlos Alcaraz can win Grigor Dimitrov who occupies the position of number 28 in the ATP ranking

Holger Rune - Andrey Rublev

Holger Rune occupies the position of number 18 in the ATP ranking, he is in a good moment of his short career, this year he won two ATP titles in Munich and Stockholm, while his opponent Andrey Rublev is in the position 9 in the ATP ranking I Think Andrey Rublev to win this game

Lorenzo Musetti - Casper Ruud

Lorenzo Musetti is in the position of number 23 in the ATP ranking, this was the best position he has ever reached in his career, he managed to beat Marin Cilic and Georgia player Nikolos Basilashvili without having many difficulties, while his opponent Casper Ruud is in the position of number 4 in the ATP ranking, in my opinion Lorenzo Musetti will win this game

And Holger Rune win again!
Only in two sets and he has not much difficult against Rublev. 6-4 7-5

The match was essentially easy for him (against Wawrinka it was completely another kind of effort).
Despite he was not the favorite he has been able to compete at a really high level even today...

Meanwhile nice win by Musetti (it was not easy at all) and by Alcaraz!

Will we see more of this type of celebration? anyway, congratulations to Daniil Medvedev
The same Daniil Medvedev that was celebrated was the tennis player that give me a loss in today's Paris Masters Tennis tournament bet when he played against Alex de Minaur. It hurt because I strongly believe he (Daniil Medvedev) will win the game when I was given the chance to sell the game at a fair price I ignore it until I lost the whole bet.
Did not watch the match but De Minaur is in good form now and I skipped that one yesterday. My main pick today is De Minaur ML against Tiafoe @1.9. This one could be a bit trickier for him since Tiafoe has the shotpower to power trough De Minaur defense but I belive that De Minaur will manage to force a lot of "unforced errors" and win in the end.

The match between Paul and Nadal is about to start. Nadal is the clear favourite in this match. Especially since Paul is currently going through a weak phase at the end of the season. He has won against Bautista Agut before. But Bautista had not shown a good performance. And so far Paul has always been knocked out in the second round in Paris. That will probably be the case again this time.

Not so!
Paul is through after beating Nadal in 3 sets. I saw the first set and thought Nadal's serve
was not great, he was giving a lot of errors there. Paul broke Nadal in the first game of
the first set but Nadal still won that, Paul won the second in a tie break and surprisingly won
the third 6-1. Bear in mind Nadal had a lengthy a sense from the tour and was was back here
to get some game time in for the finals.

I was going to bet on this match but didn't know which way to go so I held off, I probably
would have gone with Nadal though.

Yes, I guess I was wrong after all. It happens sometimes.  Cheesy
That was a great performance by Paul. Nadal gave up after the second set. Paul then understood that he could win and did it. Now he will play against Carreno Busta. I have no idea how this match will end. The bookmakers see Carreno Busta as the favourite.

I am curious about the game between Musetti and Ruud. Here I see Musetti with advantages. He has won 10 times in the last few weeks and has improved on the hard court. Ruud had problems in the match against Gasquet in the second set.

Not sure about the celebration but perhaps this is the first time that I'm aware of. Usually it was more of the traditional celebration in tennis, you go hug your opponents, shake his hands, the umpires hand and then you go on a speech.

And so it's good that the organizers allowed this one, or maybe they were caught off guard by Medvedev. Nevertheless, it was a good win for him and a needed, and it was a come from behind, he lost the first set and then comeback in the last 2. And he dedicated this win to his wife and first child, and so this really cause a celebration for him.

I don't really get the fuzz after the celebration of Medvedev. Yes, I know, they just give a speech and speak nicely about their opponent and show around the trophee, but celebrating by spraying champagne is super common in cycling and formula 1. I liked the celebration lol.

Nice one Trofo, I wouldn't feel comfortable betting on Dimitrov TBH.

Just watched Fritz v Simon, Gilles has won another match to knock Fritz out, this is a bit
of a fairytale last tournament for him, I dont think many people expected him to go this far.

Back on Rune, he knocked out Hurkacz and with Felix AA just about winning today it means
he goes through to the ATP finals!

I had three bets on today, Medvedev, Felix AA and Alcaraz

I watched the Rune Wawrinka match last night and was hoping my bet on Stan would pay
but he lost in a third set tie break to Rune.
...

I made the same bet on Wawrinka but made a cashout during the 2 match points in second set.

In this case the option for cashout was not bad at all (initial odd @2.75 --> @1.10), and I have take advantage of a "no risk bet".
He was the strongly favorite of the match but Rune is in a good shape and was able to fight for the whole match even against the two match points!

Rune is in great shape on this turf and I am taking him every day, just now watching him destroy Hurkacz, a bit mad at myself for not playing ML and going with more safe +2.5 handicap. That one was also paying @1.85 so not bad at all.

Had luck with my early tickets, my absolute bet of the day was Dimitrov to win 2:0, in the end I sweated a bit in second set since Dimitrov did not play at all, he mostly just returned the ball and waited for unforced errors. Too bad odds dropped a lot before my second high stake ticket and I already used the boost before.

It was a busy day yesterday and another today with some very interesting matches to come
particularly keeping an eye on Rublev and Hurkacz who are in the race for the ATP finals.
Both won over their opponents yesterday so the two of them are still fighting to get into Turin.
Can't believe that Coric lost against Moutet and it's totally unexpected not watching this match, but I'm sure enough to put this match in a multi bet but sadly the outcome of the match spoiled the bet.

From what I think or remember of Moutet, he tends to have great performances at "home"
tournaments.

I watched the Rune Wawrinka match last night and was hoping my bet on Stan would pay
but he lost in a third set tie break to Rune.

Stan has been a long time favourite of mine and seems to be getting back in shape but Rune
has a lot of confidence lately and now faces Hurkacz, who himself needs to win this one.

All the big guns are in action today, Alcaraz, Djoko, Medvedev and Nadal.

Will we see more of this type of celebration? anyway, congratulations to Daniil Medvedev, quick question: Daniil Medvedev is Russian, how was he not covered by the sanctions? or in tennis did not put sanctions against Russians?
That's actually a good point, never thought about it but yes, celebrations in different sports are really different. I would have never expected this type of celebration in tennis, which is usually seen as more formal, whereas in F1 you often see this kind of informal celebrations.
I'm surprised they didn't get into any troubles with the organizers since they have so many rules about everything, even what you can wear, etc.

This was a really remarkable comeback by Medvedev after losing the first set. And he did well to win the match.
This type of performance obviously calls for celebration but I did not expect this type of celebration at all. I also agree that generally, we see some type of muted celebration.

This is probably the first time a celebration like this has happened in tennis. Yes, this type of celebration is often seen in Formula 1 and I have also noticed the England and Australian teams doing this type of celebration in cricket after winning major trophies or tournaments. It is something I haven't seen in tennis before and I think that it hasn't ever happened in tennis before.

It was a big celebration for Medvedev because he qualified for the ATP finals after
winning the title. It's different to see such a celebration, maybe there was no specific
rule about spraying Champagne, I can only think if there are matches to follow the court
would have to be cleaned, IDK?

We watched the match last night between Murray and Simon which turned into a 3 set
battle with Gilles Simon winning.

I was surprised to see Gilles playing but this is his last tournament.

Yes, he's a Russian. Players from Russia and Belarus were not allowed to play Wimbledon. They're allowed to compete on the ATP tournament and Grand Slams. During this they weren't allowed to carry their flags, now players from these countries will be represented as neutral players.
