Čilić was really good against Evans yesterday - he was on top of his game in majority of the crucial points. He's playing Alcaraz next, and although Carlos will be put as a heavy favorite, I do think Čilić is not without chances.

I plan to go with some handicap on him, considering the fact that Alcaraz still hasn't lost a set in 3 matches the bookies might favor him for an easy win. The main one is currently set at +5,5 and I think that Čilić has it covered. I hope the odds on Čilić increase a bit more the closer we get to the match itself. At 3.50, he is a decent bet to win outright as well.

In the final match of round 3 it is Jannik Sinner won the match. Brandon Nakashima had a good start, but he wasn't able to carry it forward to the next sets. Jannik Sinner after losing the first set 3-6 won the three consecutive sets 6-4 6-1 6-2. Finally the round 16 schedule is ready and more matches are going to be very close.

Alcaraz and Nadal won their respective match already, and yes it was easy 3 sets win for them. I thought that Gasquet might give Nadal a headache, but 6-0, 6-1 in the first two sets is enough for me to see that he will take a win without that much of a struggle.

Nadal won.easy, especially in first two sets, leaving Gasquet on one game in those two sets, third was a bit more interesting, but finally came out at 5:7, expected lower performance from Nadal, based on first two rounds, but he is now back

Sinner is still playing, lost first set, but sailing through second and third, and expect him to win

Rublev and Shapovalov are playing good tennis at the moment, and it is 1:1, with great fight in third set
both are looking pruned to pass into next round

What a match to watch, both were with the never give up mindset to move forward. Finally it was Rublev who won the match 6-4 2-6 63-77 6-4 710-67 and Shapovalov is no down to Rublev. From the very beginning of the match there is fire in the match. Every set is quite interesting to watch and I just watched it and didn't made a bet or supported one of them. If I've flavoured this could've pumped my heart beat to the extreme.

Yeah, was just in the tie break that Rublev take the advantage, was really good match to watch.

Kyrgios vs Medvedev tomorrow, this is going to be fun to watch. Let's see if Nick is going to have his tantrums and then break up in this game. LOL.

Nadal is playing Gasquet later tonight, that one could be interesting as well, Nadal lost first set in each of previous two matches, and then start playing on usual level, is that a new tactic?
A very good fight from Shapovalov now it's going to be ended with Rublev win this was really frustrating match as I place a live bet as Rublev was down in third set, but it's end in good profit he is a good player even unpredictable but still can do good in early rounds of any event.

In second bet right now Cilic is struggling badly against British player Evans which is giving a tough challenge in first set even most chances favorite Cilic will do this all easily but start is not good for him. Today we have another good match between Bencic vs Czech player Pliskova both are good and energetic players, but I am feeling Bencic can win this match she is doing good job in early match and here again she can go through to into fourth round.

De minaur is playing right now against Carreno Busta, and he lost first two sets and won the 3rd, and now they're in the fourth one playing a tiebreak, I really believe in De Minaur's chances to turn the tables on Carreno Busta, and win the match, the odds are high at 4.34, worth a try.

I watched the live game... he made a bad mistake on game point/tie break despite a clear advantage against Carreno Busta.

I have place a bet on Carreno Busta because it was clear that the Spanish was in a good condition.
However the odds was interesting, but after have see first two sets played so bad, likewise De Minaur was just awake or it was just a training match, it was to risky trying to bet on him.

It was quite a disastrous match for De Minaur. He did not play well. And even though he had some clear advantages in that match it is quite safe to say that he blew those advantages. He could not actually make anything positive out of what advantages he had. And I have to say his opponent Carreno Busta played very well. He took his chances wisely. But I feel it is more about De Minaur not playing well in that match. Before the match, I thought it would be quite close and quite interesting. I think it is safe to say that it was not the case.

Wasn't able to watch this game, but clearly this is a 50/50 match, never see the odds though, who is the betting favorite? It is Busta?

Anyhow, Alex though seems to be another player that is inconsistent so I wouldn't be surprised that he lost that way. He can't take advantage of his opponent eventhough he has a good chance. Alcaraz seems to be going on the next round as he is leading Brooksby by 2 sets although down 2-0 on the 3rd set.

I have to admit that I didn't really like Serena Williams before, somehow she seemed too arrogant to me, but now I'm actually sorry that she lost her match and that we won't see her in tennis anymore.
It really seems incredible that she just played her last professional match in the tennis career. She was really very good in this tournament and it seems to me that she could have played at a very high level for a few more years, regardless of the age.
After such good matches, I sincerely hope that she will change her mind about tennis retirement  Cheesy

You need to admit that the last couple of years that she not was at the same level anymore as before (she lost her 4 last grandslam finals). She has been one of the greatest of all time but all good things come to an end. She played pretty good this tournament (especially against Kontaveit), but it is nice for her to retire on home soil!

arrogant or not, Serena Williams has always been a really talented player, if we just put aside her behavior and just think about how she plays, who will have to praise her?

the achievements that she has achieved are unbelievable, she has done so much in tennis and i think it is safe to say that she is quite respected all around the world
but it doesn’t matter how skilled a player is, he/she will eventually have to retire, and i honestly feel that the time has come for Serena William
obviously, people are most likely to disagree with me, but everyone can have different opinions

heah I lost straight away, it was only $10 but I still hurts a bit, despite Carreno Busta getting a little old, he's still in good shape to play more than three sets, anyways, I'm thinking today about betting on Shapovalov against Rublev, Denis lost the first set but I think he might win as well, due minaur turned me down but I hope Shapovalov won't, he has been inconsistent but same as Rublev, betting on the underdog is the best option for me.

that was her goal most probably, to retire at home, on biggest tournament, I do not think that she expected to win it, her form is far from even good, not talking about her top performances, and I am sure that she knows that

nevertheless, it was nice to look her matches again, yeah, some where really solid and intense

congrats on whole career, and best of luck in future life

There is no doubt that Alcaraz is a better player. But will he be able to defeat Rafael Nadal is something to be seen?
Yes, but when you look at these players and when they were 32, did you think they would be battling at this level at age 36? These guys are just from another star. Many people say there will be another Rafael Nadal and so on, but when? These are just marks that have historic value. It's so crazy that it is hard to imagine that some will ever beat that.
The players who people were expecting to be the next Rafael Nadal aren't in the most favorable of situations right now. As a matter of fact, Rafael Nadal actually ended up outlasting them all in the end. Despite being 36 years old, he is still playing a very good game. It is impossible for anyone to underestimate Rafael Nadal in any way. His age does not make him obsolete. Compared to a lot of younger players, he is still performing much better.

Andrea Petkovic will end her career. She will only play the US Open and then it is over. The reason is that she keeps having too many injuries. Maybe she will play a small tournament in Europe as a farewell. Today she will play against the Olympic champion Belinda Bencic.
I do not think her next match will be easy since she has been injured quite often during these years. So I don’t think she is able to carry on for a long period of time. It does seem like she is really nearing the end of her career. And honestly, I also do not expect too much from her at this stage. Because in my mind she will not be able to deliver what she could previously.

Regards

Duke

I agree and when he starts a tournament it pretty much depends on his physical condition. If he can play his best he is almost impossible to beat. His mental state is from another universe. All the great talents usually fail at mastering the toughest moments in a game. Defend break balls and match or balls or come back from a bad situation when it is not your best day. That's what sets him apart. Even on his own bad days he is patient and waits for his opponents to lose their focus and start throwing a game away. I wonder whether he himself believed to come back from all his injuries and one day lead the grand slam title table.

From the 1/16 round games so far tommy paul vs ruud was the best, it was a total war the score was two sets to two going into the fifth one but it seemed that tommy paul gazed out on that last one it was totaly dominated by ruud with a score of 6 0.

Unfortunately, he lost in the fourth set with a tiebreak, it's good odds but we realize that it's not an easy thing to win with that odds.

S. Williams was defeated by A. Tomljanovic, when she could win the second set the chances were very open to her, but age no longer allowed her to continue to play consistently in long durations of games, and she bid farewell in this tournament.
