Brooksby won easily, Čorić barely appeared on court today. I expected way more from him considering that he was in a great form before US Open.

Čilić breezed through, as expected. He's facing a really difficult draw though - he's playing Norrie next and in case he wins, he's facing Alcaraz.

WTF is wrong with the guy, its all just an act, part of what he does, is it to try and disrupt
his opponent or something?

He is still able to win though, it doesnt seem to be affecting him that much so what
is his problem.

He plays Wolf next and should win that.

You need to admit, Kyrgios always gives us some nice headlines! He is crazy but tennis would be a lot more boring if he wouldn't be here. Guess Trofo was correct in his analysis to not bet on Kyrgios (-2.5 handicap) as he won in 4 sets.

Two Croatians playing today - Čilić is a big favorite against Ramos-Vinolas but it will be interesting to see how Čorić will fare against Brooksby.

Brooksby is marked as a slight favorite - but after winning Cincinatti with only 1 lost set (against Nadal), I will be betting on Borna today.

He was really bad against Couacaud though - whereas Brooksby demolished Lajović.
Cilic vs Ramos is going to be interesting. I agree, Brooksby is a good player and I personally like how he plays.
But I don't know if he will be able to win against his next opponent. I am not so confident about Borna either because recently his performance was not the best.
So in that comparison, Brooksby is going to be the better bet in my opinion.

Another familiar thing with Nick,  US Open: Nick Kyrgios complains of fan smoking marijuana during his second-round win.

And so Felix AA is out in the 3rd round, lost in 3 sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to Jack Draper.
But one can also feel sorry for Nick. So many people in the audience bothering him.  Wink

The break from Jack Draper in the first set made Felix AA nervous. And in service games 2 and 3 from Felix AA, Jack Draper fought his way back and almost managed a break there as well. After that everyone played through their service game and there was no much fight anymore.
I understand simple things. Things like you cannot blame someone else for your bad performance.
I am not saying that he blamed it on the spectators. But it seems like he feels he had a bad performance and it was very much affected by the spectators.
Obviously, that is going to have some problems for the players but they should be able to handle those things. I am also not saying that it is okay to do those things.
That certain person should obviously be brought under the law. But at the same time, the player should also not give an excuse.

Another familiar thing with Nick,  US Open: Nick Kyrgios complains of fan smoking marijuana during his second-round win.

Quote
In the second set Kyrgios, who is facing legal action from a fan he said was "drunk out of her mind" at Wimbledon, said a member of the New York crowd was smoking marijuana.

The 27-year-old swore when explaining that to the umpire and added that it could harm players who suffered from asthma, as he does.

"People don't know I'm a heavy asthmatic," said Kyrgios after the match.

"When I'm running side to side, I'm struggling to breathe, [it's] probably not something I want to be breathing in between points."

As play resumed, the umpire asked spectators to "refrain from smoking around the court".

And so Felix AA is out in the 3rd round, lost in 3 sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to Jack Draper. Medvedev is also getting through the next round. The match is going to be interesting now.

@cryptofrka  - yes, it's going to be interesting how the two Croats are going to play because they are facing tough opponents. Maybe a over bet is not that bad as a parlay.

Raducanu won last year the US Open with a lot of luck and it was shown now with her getting knocked out. I think we will see her below 100 rank once the list is updated on monday. Swiatek for me is the main favorite even tho she is in bad form.
She's not doing well in her performances that's undeniable but I don't agree with saying that what she achieved earlier was the result of luck, as far as I know last year's US Open was her second GS and being able to win in his second appearance is an achievement that not many players can achieve, and it must be remembered that for the women's sections no one dominates almost no player can defend her title in the following year after William's dominance is no longer there, Raducannu is still young and she will be able to get more achievements if she gets a coach who can develop her abilities.

FAA is already down 2 sets from J. Draper will this be the next surprise at the US Open?

Ouch! FAA is out , I had a bet on him to win!

Raducanu has been disappointing since her win this time last year for sure and we cannot
be roo hard on her because opponent in the final Fernandez hasnt been lighting up
the courts either.

I kind of know where Joca97 is coming from with the luck but that is true for many players
and could come through again this year on the womens side, nearly all the top seeded players
have been knocked out already which leaves a nice path open for the likes of Gauf to do something big.

Defending champion Emma Raducanu has already been eliminated in the first round at the US Open. Another favourite, Yelena Rybakina, has also been eliminated. Most recently, she won Wimbledon. It seems that many recent winners are not yet playing consistently enough to continue playing at the top.

Really difficult to find value in this early rounds. I checked the markets today and nothing looks amazing.

Maybe Korda to win against Paul and make it 4. win in 4 matches? Odds are good.

Wolf should win quite easy against Tabilo, I am on -1.5 set handicaps here.

Kyrgios should win 3:0 but I said to myself that I am never placing a bet on this particular @#@#!& So skipping it

Took a quick look myself also, but hard to find any value bets. Personally, I still place bets on Kyrgrios but not when he is playing lower ranked players; we saw it in Wimbledon that he can easily loose 1 or 2 sets against these guys because his motivation is not always 100% in these matches.

Same here, not value bets for now, perhaps it's time to just watch and see how this players are doing, our favorites so that we will know their form and maybe we can bet on them on the next succeeding rounds if they are the underdogs.

Murray won already in 3 sets against Nava, good call for this one if he at least have Murray on handicap as he blasted Nava in the last 3 sets after a 7-5 lost in the first.

Medvedev vs Rinderknech later.

Just tuned into the Murray v Nava match and Murray is down 1 set already, Murrays odds
are 1.32 now, Nava's 3.4, I feel like doing something but dont know what ...

Murray is clearing it, 2:1 and 4:0 in fourth set, he is in for next round
Berettinni is also in fourth set, but it is just 2:1 in fourth, and without break, should be finished in four sets as well

nothing exciting to see for betting tonight, maybe Kyrgios to win 3:0, but I will refrain from tennis until tomorrow

Yes I agree, its hard to find value, my nice bet on Baez yesterday got cancelled when
he pulled out, I had a +8.5 handicap on him @2.13 and he was down 2 sets 6-4, 6-4 and
was looking like delivering my bet.

I think all of the predictions are quite a on point. Honestly, I would have also said the same things. I have to say it but this seems to be quite an easy prediction for anyone who follows tennis.

Korda vs paul It’s going to be interesting though. Don’t think one is Miles better compared to the other.
Odds are preety much similar,

I am going to agree that Wolf should have an easy time against Tabilo.

At least if something really unbelievable does not happen, Kyrgios can be unpredictable at times but I don’t see why he might lose this.

others like Raducanu and Osaka was not able to duplicate their performance.

Osaka was already not been good in recent weeks and had also had a lot to do with injuries. She had already stopped in the first round in Toronto because of back pain. Her opponent at the US Open, Collins, was also a finalist at the Australian Open this year. So in her current form, it is no shame that she lost.

Upsets do really happen specially in women's side. It's maybe the wear and tear specially for Rybakina, others like Raducanu and Osaka was not able to duplicate their performance. Williams is already way past his prime already and there are a lot of young tennis players coming into the ranks now.

Carlos Alcaraz going into the second round, Sebastian Baez  retire during their match. Nadal lost the 1st set but was able to control the last 3 sets and win.

Right now, we have a few very interesting matches in progress with V Williams are struggling in first round match against Belgium's Van Uytvanck lost first set by score of 6 - 1 and now in second set have score of 3 - 2 in William's favor. In another match Petkovic is doing much better than expectations against Olympics gold medalist Bencic after losing first set won second one and now in third both are working hard to win match.

In men's event, right now two Croatians are doing good Clic is leading match by 2 - 0 and Coric after having good start few days back now here won first set and now having tiebreaker in second set Rublev is also after losing one set now have led by 2 - 1 with good position in third set.
Venus Williams lost the second set also with 7-6 so she is out of the tournament. I am wondering if she will also announce her retirement; why not retire together with Serena; would be a nice goodbye for the homecrowd?
Right now, things are looking not good for many top seed players as they are facing hard time against new generation players for their success, surely Venus Williams's time is also ended, and she needs to announce her retirement as well with her sister. Naomi Osaka lost in just 90 minutes against American Collins and British star Raducanu also lost against French opponent Cornet, Olympian gold medalist Bencic done good job fight back against Petkovic.

In Men's event most of the players done hard work for their win as opponents done good resistance before giving up Coric, Sinner and Musetti all done hard work until fifth set for winning their first round matches which is interesting, and we can expect some more upsets after Tsitsipas exit from this event in first round.
