I was hoping to see Tsitsipas win against Raonic but it wasn't to be. I still think that Tsitsipas is a good chance to win this years US Open if all goes well. Djokovic was pushed hard in his match but was still able to overcome Bautista which now sets up for a good final against Raonic. I think that Djokovic will win but it won't be an easy win for him as Raonic has shown in the past that he can match it with the top players in finals.

Well you know me, I always bet on my boy Tsitsipas and I thought that he will also beat Raonic. But it seems that the big serving Raonic is back. Also Djokovic had a hard time adjusting to Bautista Agut and even losing the first set. But he come back, so it will be Djokovic vs Raonic. The match will be good as long as it last, as long as Raonic can keep up with Djokovic, but I don't see this slipping in the hands of Djokovic.

Djokovic had big health problems in that match, stomach problems and big neck pains and that was a much bigger problem for him than Bautista himself.
If Djokovic had been completely healthy, Bautista would not have had any chances in the match.
This match showed why Djokovic is the greatest tennis player of all time.
Where 99% of other players give up he goes forward and does not give up.
These are the qualities of the greatest champions.
He deserve to be one off best players in Tennis history because he never give up fight and fighting hard is really his way of playing in tennis I never watch player like him in illness mostly players stay away from court but he is doing very good today after first set I was not expecting but he fights back very good and now able to win this title.

Konta was completely on in first set but after losing first set Azarenka fight back and take match without any serious resistance very good win for her in second match Osaka won first set very easily but in second we have tie breaker and Osaka won in straight sets now Azarenka and Osaka will fight for title in final.
You are right bro, in a final between Osaka vs Azarenka both are Grand Slam Champions but it seems Osaka will win the match and lift the trophy. For Men's sided Djokovic more favored to win the match in statistics Djokovic win all their metings.
Yesterday I watch both semi finals and have impact that now this time its not easy for Djokovic to win Roanic is also doing very good after return from break he completely out class Tsitsipas in Semi Final and won in straight sets and in other match Djokovic was really struggling against Bautista-Agut so its could be very interestin final even Djokovic is going with full win record against opponent.

Just sad to see Osaka, walking out in protest of what is happening in the US right now regarding the shooting of Jacob Blake. Semis on the mens side: Tsitsipas vs Raonic, although Raonic is playing good in this tournament, I think Tsitsipas will too good for him. Djokovic vs Bautista Agut, I'm looking for an upset here, but I think Djokovic will have this in the bag.

She did continue to play in the semis, I think it was just a one day protest not just for tennis for other sports as well which involve athletes of different colours. They pause in in Aug 27 and then resume the next day Aug 28 and Osaka play and beat Martens to set up a finals appearance against Azarenka.

In the mens, I'm sure Djokovic will be the clear favourite to win this tournament against Raonic.

My mistake, I thought that Osaka will just walk out and not proceed with the semis. And it seems the tournament organisations understands what Osaka is fighting or what message she is sending. So it's good to hear that they listen and allow a one game as show of solidarity and support. And I do hope that Osaka will win as he represents diversity and colour in tennis right now.

Osaka on Thursday said she would play in her semi-final after the postponement of matches. “After my announcement and lengthy consultation with the WTA and USTA, I have agreed at their request to play on Friday,” she said. “They offered to postpone all matches until Friday and in my mind that brings more attention to the movement. I want to thank the WTA and the Tournament for their support.”

Tsitipas sure had good practice on return before this match. He played against Anderson, Isner and Opelka. If that did not help him to get used on receiving the serve from those giants nothing will Smiley I think this will be a very close match with at least one tie break and possibly even more.

Did not know that Osaka decided to walk out in protest. I thought it was some injury problem.

@Trofo I too believe that Tsitsipas will only win, and it’ll be a big upset for me if he ends up on the loosing side. Furthermore while Raonic has indeed played well during this tournament, yet I would like Tsitsipas to win and progress ahead to the finals.

@Strongkored I’m glad to know that she decided to return, because it would have been a big blow for all the tennis fans had she decided to opt out, as they’ll had eagerly waited to see the semifinal match in the midst of the ongoing pandemic.

I see there has been some games suspended, Stefanos Tsitsipas and the John Isner match was the main one I was keeping an eye on but it got suspended. I'm unable to watch the matches but have been watching the live score updates. Djokovic and Medvedev look good at the moment. At least we are getting to see some players play before the US Open and we can get an idea on how well they are travelling ahead of the grand slam.

Stefanos Tsitsipas got the better of John Isner, 7-6(2), 7-6(4). He will be facing Opelka next.

Womens side is also heating up:

Mertens vs Pegula
Osaka vs Kontaveit
Konta vs Sakkari
Jabeur vs Azarenka

That's good as I haven't been able to watch any of the matches but have been following live on flash score. Have you been watching Tsitsipas and if so how do you think he is going as I'm thinking of placing a bet on him to win the US Open because he is a good hard court player and with less top seeds playing I think he has a good chance. I like Thiem as well but just not sure about him on hard courts, I must admit he is getting better but I just don't know how he will go against some of the other top hard court players.

Anybody watching tennis from New York? I was a bit busy and did not watch any matches but i plan to log few hours today before I start to bet serious money on the tournament. Just started with Isner-Millman match to see if Isner is still playing like his old self since he is one of my favorite guys to put some money on. Basically, handicaps since he often plays the matches with lots of tie breaks, same old stuff if you were wondering.

Later today we have first matches for both Djokovic and Thiem so I will watch parts of those matches to see what kind of form favorites brought to the tournament. Djokovic was looking quite vulnerable during Adria tour but that means nothing.
I'm not use to New York tennis but according to the odds Isner is expected to win the on going game, this is not the first he'll go head to head against Millman and it should be the winner. Besides, hes currently leading
