Congrats to Spain for winning the Davis Cup this year.

Rafael Nadal proved once again why he is Spain's number one player, first Davis Cup for Spain since 2011. Emotional and inspiring win for Bautista-Agut as well, just a day he was in his father's funeral and then come back to win, it was so remarkable for him and his team mates.

Hats off to Bautista-Agut. I never knew that his father has died that's why he is not in the semis against Great Britain. So I would like that it was really a emotional match and see that he had help Spain win against Canada and bagged this year's Davis Cup. Probably his father is watching his match, very emotional as he is crying, so congrats to Spain for a big win.

I just watch match between Shapovalov vs Minaur what a match by two good and emerging players in first set Shapovalov completely outclass Minaur but this kid came back very strongly and won rest of match really good and top class player for coming years last set was very impressive but Shapovalov have some problems with service too many double faults give him big set back he need to do some more work for good tennis in future.

Very interesting match between Shapovalov vs De Minaur. Alex De Minaur is one player on my radar that could potentially became a big player in the future. Anyways, it was Captain Lleyton Hewitt decision not to play Nick Kyrgios in this Davis Cup, but it was later revealed that Nick did have a injury obviously he is not fit to play in this tournament.

Then Shapovalov partnered with Pospisil to cliched it for Canada in the doubles and push them to the semi-finals.

You are right, Paire is unpredictable and that's why I was afraid to play it -5.5 games on Djokovic @ 1.87.

Finally played -1.5 Sets @ 1.36. Not a bad for Davis Cup game Smiley

I ended skipping that match and played Canada to win @ 2.50. First match went as good as it could with Pospisil beating Milman in straight sets. Currently Shapovalov and De Minaur are on the pitch and it is 1:1 in sets, so let's go Shapovalov win this so I don't have to rely on doubles to win the ticket  Grin

Nobody watching & betting on new Davis Cup? Was a bit surprised that I didn't see a single post on this topic. Russia started very nice, they are missing Medvedev but Khacanov and Rublev are still a solid force. They won all 3 matches against my Croatia but I sort of expected it and managed to cash in nicely on those games. Croatia is playing without Cilic and Coric was also sick before tournament so he isn't on 100%. Add to that some internal struggles and firing of the coach one day before we traveled to Spain and the result is more than realistic.

Russia has also won their first match against Spain but Nadal should make that 1:1 (playing at the moment) and then we will have a decider in pairs.

I'm Smiley

I'm not a big fan of small odds, but today I will make an exception for Davis cup.

Djokovic is always playing strong for Serbia and even @ 1.069 is a good bet on it. Paire is no a weak player at all, but cannot compare to Djokovic at all.

Paire B. (Fra) vs Djokovic N. (Srb) @ 1.069

Still considering the option for 0:2 on Djokovic @ 1.328

Your opinion?

That odds are way to small. When I get odds that small on favourite I either play handicap on his opponent or skip the game. For this particular match I would rather skip it since Paire is very unpredictable.

This tournament win should be the start of him to be placed in No.1.
He is so talented and he can do it in the next years. Now that Federer is near retirement and Nadal coming next, he is going to be on the top along with Djokovic.
For Stefanos Tsitsipas to become the world number one then it is a long battle, he played really well in this tournament and he needs to do that consistently to reach those status as the rest of the players who proved year after year are placed in the top and if Stefanos Tsitsipas is able to perform the same kind of performance consistently then we might see that next year but it is too early in my opinion.

All he needs is to be prudent and don't get angry and nervous when he is behind in the score.
This attribute is gained as he gets older. And after this title I think that he is more experienced to handle this anger.

Did not follow this Davis cup but just now had a look and seeing it has started from 18th. While I was checking the results I just noticed Andy Murray.

When did he back. I am a big fan of Murray and good to see him again in the court. His ranking is shit now which is 126 but if he is fully fit then he will rank up in no time.

The odd for Djokovic is really not worth to bet. I may wait for in play offers.

@BigBoy89

I will consider the 0:2 @1.328, the @1.069 is also an odd to consider, but both needs to be combined with some other pair, cause I will never put some big money only on that

Thanks for the reminder mate, maybe I can take a lot at up and see if I can put a bet.

You are right, Nadal won against Khachanov 6-3, 7-6. While Granoller/Lopez defeated Khachanov/Rublev 6-4, 7-6 to make a 2-1 comeback. Lots of games around the world are being played, and we all know that Davis Cup is a big tournament because every man represents his country, so it is a classic.

I watch first match between Bautista (Esp) Vs Rublev (Rus) in first set Bautista completely outclass Rublev but in second set he came back very strongly and best opponent very easily in third set Bautista again break very early but then suddenly Rublev came back and won for Russia Right now Nadal won first set by 6 - 3 and now heading for second I am expecting some good resistance from kachanova he is doing good against World no 1 player.

For all the fans who wants to see the match in youtube here is the link and it was an epic match Roger Federer vs Pete Sampras: Wimbledon fourth round, 2001.
That was an epic match and thank you for sharing the match as i have not seen this match and it was a dream match considering how Federer went on to create an historic career breaking many records and i guess this was his breakout performance as he was really young when he faced Pete Sampras who had a legendary career himself.

Can't complain as well. I also can't imagine the tennis world without our players who we grew up watching. I still vividly remember Federer vs Sampras in semis or finals, but I can't remember which tournament it was. Federer was the rising star that time and Sampras is on the way out, I'm guessing its the 01-02, hah, that was a long time ago.  Grin
Roger Federer and Pete Sampras only faced each other once in Wimbledon 2001 and it was a really close match and it was a back and forth match where Federer won the first set and Sampras came back in the second set and it was a marathon match which lasted more than three hours  Shocked and Federer won the match 3-2.

@Royse777 - Your boy Thiem also performed above expectations in this tournament. Those two will have a lot of battles ahead. And maybe one of those days he will caught Tsitsipas napping, LOL. But head to head Thiem still has the numbers if I'm not mistaken.
Can't complain.
Point here is that we can see some youngsters are showing signs to dominate the future of Tennis. Imagine a tennis world without Federer, Nadal. These guys will have to fill the gap to keep it going.

I lost a bet but I am happy to see that the deserved one won the final.

Congratulations to your boy and you to win the bet.

Great moral boosting win for Stefanos Tsitsipas in this tournament. And I"m sure he gain so much confidence in this tournament that we should look forward in 2020 and see him chasing his first Grand slam trophy.

They really played very well, but Stepanos knows how to play under pressure now specially in his match against Roger Federer. Just the way he played on the second set and then closing Thiem in the third, it was an amazing run.

This tournament win should be the start of him to be placed in No.1.
He is so talented and he can do it in the next years. Now that Federer is near retirement and Nadal coming next, he is going to be on the top along with Djokovic.

Rank no.1 is still far to reach. Maybe it should be best for Stefanos to aim his goals step by step and avoid getting hyped just by beating another player who's not even close to top 3 tennis players.
