I feel that Medvedev  (who already became "black cat " for Djokovic) and Thiem will soon replace "Big 3" and become new champions.
Djokovic,  Nadal and Federer are to long on the top and people wants to see new players on the top.
They are still young and need more experience and stability but they will come on the top eventually,  in a few years.

I do hope that Medvedev will continue his strong showings, specially on a bigger stage. We have seen lots of potential players to really challenge the "Big 3", but all of them came short when they are in a Grand Slam that's why the Djokovic, Nadal and Federer continues to dominate the tennis world even at their age. If Medvedev goes on to win the US Open, then I would say yes, so it will be very interesting to see how he will do in this year US Open. Do I really wanted to see new players coming up? Definitely, but they need to prove it by winning the big tournaments in tennis.

I totally agree as we have been talking about this on here for over a year now. Every time we think that one of the up and coming young talent is going to win a Grand Slam they don't because of the pressure from the top 3. I also think a lot of it is to do with being nervous playing Nadal, Djokovic and Federer in big matches like Grand Slam finals and that is why we always see the young talent lose as that is when the top 3 bring their A game where as the lead up tournaments I don't think they worry about so that is why we always see the up and coming guys beat the top 3. Lets hope we start to see a change in the US Open, we are yet to see Nadal in action so he will be fresh and ready to go for the US Open.

Exactly, we have sounded like a broken record here for years. Those young players need to really step up the plate against the big 3 otherwise they will continue to dominate this game and show their experience. Medvedev is already on the stage wherein he had matured already and have the capability to face the top 3 in the biggest show, the US Open. I think the qualifiers has started,  and the top seeds are:

1. Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Federer
4. Thiem
5. Medvedev

Yeah we have my friend, I was looking back in this thread and I can't believe how fast time goes by as it has been a couple of years now since we started talking about the young talent. At the time it was players like Kyrgios, Thiem and Zverev who should all be challenging for Grand Slams and even winning but we are yet to see this. Medvedev has stepped up recently and looks to be the best chance for the up and coming guys as even though Thiem is ranked 4th seed I don't think he is all that good on hard courts just yet and is more suited to clay so I don't like he's chances in the US Open.

True. Reading some interview on Roger Federer:

https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/roger-federer-feeling-better-ever-172004717.html

Quote
“Two years ago I came in with a back issue a little bit, I had a struggle early on with five-setters. Last year I struggled with the heat against (John) Millman. Obviously in 2016 I missed it entirely.

“We were saying on the practice court two days ago that this is probably the best I’ve felt in years coming into the US Open again, which is encouraging.

It looks like his very positive on his chance on the upcoming US Open. And that what's separate elite tennis players from the good ones. Elite players are very optimistic with there chances of winning another grandslam as opposed to many talented players we have right now, they don't have the mentality of champions like the big 3 and that is the main reason why they falter in this Grand Slams.

Medvedev has had a fantastic tournament and deserved the win against Djokovic as it looked like Djokovic would run away with the match and win but to Medvedev's credit he fought back strong and won it in three sets.

The final between Medvedev and Goffin was good to watch, Goffin always seems to finish second in these tournaments as Medvedev won it in straight sets and looks to be a real danger for the top 3 in the US Open. Congrats to Medvedev on the win!

Wasn't able to watch the match, but with the way Medvedev he recover and won against Djokovic I have no doubt that he can win the tournament against Goffin, no disrespect to him, but it looks like Medvedev is the potential heir and will be the next batch of champions at we all know that the big three is already again. And with this win, he will be in the top 5, and would also be one of the favorites coming the US Open. Hope he can sustain this run and see other players rising to the occasion and challenge Djokovic, Federer and Nadal for the top spot.

Medvedev has so far had a good month reaching three straight finals at the Citi Open and back to back ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, the Coupe Rogers and Western and Southern Open so he is in top form heading into the US Open and is someone who can really give Djokovic, Nadal and Federer a challenge and maybe even win it all. I am thinking about putting some money on Medvedev but I'll see just before the tournament starts as there could be more value elsewhere.
Medvedev current form is very good signal for Tennis fans as they will be able to watch some exciting tennis from new generation player and top 3 also feel some pressure as they all are struggling I watch last few matches of Medvedev and he is capable of giving tough challenge to top players in major events hopefully he will give this regularly and could be in top for next few years.

Same thoughts. With the strength of his recent showings, specially this Cincy Open, he could be the one to take the crown from those champions. He was a runner up to Nadal in the Rogers Cup and then lost to Krygios in Citi open. So he is really on the hot tracks right now. So certainly, its good to put money on him entering the US Open. So lets see what will be the odds, hard to stop a player when he is on the roll.

Yeah I was thinking the same with the Djokovic match however he was just too good for Carreno Busta. It is looking like Djokovic will win this tournament with almost all the top seeds going out in the early rounds except for Medvedev who might be the one to stop Djokovic.

Medvedev vs Djokovic in the semis. Medvedev defeated Rublev 6-2,6-3, and judging by the score, it looks like it was a easy match for him. So it will be a thriller, we will see if he will stop Djokovic as he is also playing good and high level tennis. Djokovic won against Poullie to set up the match.

Yep I am over Kyrgios, that is why I didn't mention it here because like we have been saying he can never control himself after winning a tournament. I just don't understand why he can't continue on with it after winning a tournament. Anyway enough said about him for now as he needs to learn to control himself a lot more and not let things get to him but not sure if he ever will.

He should never play professional tennis with that kind of attitude. I don't think that there will be a chance for him to change his mentality or behaviour inside the tennis court.

I'm watching the Djokovic and Medvedev match now and Djokovic is looking the goods right now after taking the first set 6-3 and currently in the second set it is 1-1 so hopefully Medvedev can fight back and push Djokovic to three sets.

Yes he was push to 3 sets, unfortunately it was Medvedev who won the match, 6-3, 3-6, 3-6, everyone thought that Medvedev is out, but he manage to have his second wind in the second and third set. Good call though, as you have been saying that Medvedev is really playing good tennis this week and could be the one to emerge as the most likely have the potential to be in top after the veterans retire. He will now play Goffin for the finals, Medvedev need to be aggressive in the beginning and not give Goffin a chance to have a momentum if he wanted to win the tournament.

I agree with you my friend, Kyrgios will never win a Grand Slam with his attitude and the way he is towards the fans, players and umpires which is a shame because he has all the talent in the world but can't control his mentality and attitude when playing.

Djakovic lost from Medvedev.
According to some reports,  Djakovic was injured but still it seems that Medvedev becoming "black cat " for him 😀
Recently Djakovovic shared his opinion that Thiem and Medvedev have good potential to eventually replace him,  Nadal and Federer and come on the top.
What do you think?

There was an upset today as Roger Federer lost to Rublev 6-3, 6-4. He beat Stan Wawrinka rin the previous run, so it looks like we have a giant killer in this tournament. Although he was really doing good tennis in the last two years but a injury (lower back stress fracture) forced him to miss and sideline early 2019.

Medvedev won against Struff, Djokovic match in two hours against Pablo Carreño Busta.

Yeah this was a big upset with Federer losing in straight sets, Rublev did it with ease which was not expected playing one of the greatest players of all time.

Not taking anything from Rublev, but it looks like Federer has a bad game, but in his interview, he says that he is fine.

I'm watching the Djokovic match right now and he is getting pushed hard by Carreno Busta early in the match, I don't want to say that another upset is on the cards but Carreno Busta is playing some good tennis right now. Lets hope he can push Djokovic and we see a three set match.

Djokovic prevailed and is going on the next round, it was a bit scary though as I thought that there could be another upset. Pablo Carreño Busta is no push over though, he use to be in the top 10, but Djokovic proved how tough he is and fought the storm, he will be facing Poullie next, rematch of their Australian open semis.

Enough with the Kyrgios tantrums, he is really a disgrace to the sport and to the Australian tennis, should be given harsh punishments for that action.

Federer is a gentleman he will never make any excuses on why he lost, he’ll gracefully accept it and move on. Rublev played way better than him and kept pushing Federer hence he won, I think he deserves all the credit for beating Federer. Djokovic had a tough match and I have to admit I felt he may just loose it, but he proved me wrong and won like a true champion.

Yeah I was thinking the same with the Djokovic match however he was just too good for Carreno Busta. It is looking like Djokovic will win this tournament with almost all the top seeds going out in the early rounds except for Medvedev who might be the one to stop Djokovic.

Kyrgios is one of worst players I have watch in recent times as he is never been good example for any one after losing match against Khachanov his behavior was really poor and now he is facing some hard punishments may be he could suspend because most of peoples don't want him in Tennis court again https://www.atptour.com/en/news/kyrgios-cincinnati-2019

And of course, Kyrgios is out in the first round of the next tournament. Kyle Edmund was good enough to win in two easy sets. Should have placed a bet on this one since I had a feeling Kyrgios celebrated after winning Washington and this match was quite soon after that final.

It seems nobody is watching early rounds at Montreal or at least writing about it? I usually like to bet in early rounds since it is easier to predict some upsets with good odds, but this time I didn't even had time to browse trough offer.

Kyrgios defeat is surprising as I was expecting his victory at Washington to inspire him to win more titles, it’s about time he get serious about how he plays his game. The fight with the umpire regarding the lack of towels was unnecessary, and on the other hand Edmund kept his cool and won the match. Earlier rounds can get tricky at times especially in matches like this, you never know when Kyrgios is in mood and when he isn’t.

No surprise for me as like I said, he always does this after winning a tournament, just go back and see how he has performed after winning a tournament. This is why no one can rely on him because he is too inconsistent, I'm still hoping for that day when he is able to put it all together but until that day comes I can't take him seriously.

Correct, when he lost interest, for sure it doesn't matter who is the man facing him, he will suddenly suddenly slip another worst performance. And as a tennis gambler, really hard to bet on him, never get the chance to have money because of his inconsistency. If you won betting on him on the last tournament then good for you. But the fact that he is very inconsistent? You need to be very very lucky to win big money specially if he is the underdog.

I don't really know when we are going to see him putting it all together though, doubt it will happen.

Kyrgios is one player I would never bet on unless we start to see him playing more consistent tennis. I bet that he has cost a lot of people a lot of money over the years because he is too inconsistent. Like we have seen, every time he has a good tournament and wins, the next tournament he doesn't seem to care and loses matches. We are just waiting for that day my friend but like you I doubt that it will ever happen.

After his recent bad behavior I don't think that Kyrgios is going to have a bright future in the Tennis sport.
If you want to be a great player and grow your play style you have to be decent, calm and hardworking.
Seeing him going to the dressing room and breaking two rackets made him pathetic, and he totally deserved losing against Kachanov.
