At least Krygios is now through to the next round, winning against number 12 seed Medvedev. Fognini won against J. Tsonga as well. Cilic leading Bassco right now. Goffin stunned Wawrinka while Zverev and Berrettini are fighting in out in the first set. Still a long way to go, we will see more seeded players later and looks like there will be more interesting match to see.

Tsitsipas didn't really offer much in this final against Djokovic as he was dominated and didn't really stand a chance. Wins on first serves let Tsitsipas down and is something he needs to work on if he is to challenge the top players like Djokovic and Nadal. Djokovic is now equal with Nadal on 33 ATP Masters 1000 titles which is an amazing effort. Djokovic had not won a title since winning the Australian Open earlier this year but now looks in fine form heading into the French Open which starts in 2 weeks.
I thought this kid will offer something different this time, he was a giant killer as well, but as we have said time and time again, this young prospects really succumb to this kind of tournament. Nothing to take away from Djokovic though, he's been playing lackluster performance in the beginning of the year. But winning this tournaments makes him dangerous again. He is that kind of player wherein he will be in the zone after a big win, just like last year. So he will be one of the favorites in this years French Open and I wouldn't be surprised if he win.

You gotta admire Tsitsipas for getting this far especially because he only 20 years old. This kid is a real talent and I'm pretty sure in maximum 5 years or so he will become world number 1 because Federer and Nadal will probably be gone by then and Djokovick will get to old of this. He is already in top 10,probably next week he will move to number 7 worldwide and that's really impressive. Experience prevailed in the end. It was a good match with Thiem dictating the points and Djokovic returning some nonreturnable shots. In the end Thiem just made too many unforced errors in the wrong parts of the set. If it can be called unforced error when Djokovic returns 5 shots which would be winners against any other player (probably even Nadal) and then you miss the 6th shot.
But from the score djokovic had to win it in tiebreakers for both sets. So it would be interesting to see him in top form against a struggling nadal recovering from his barcelona loss.

Yes it is looking this way, what an amazing match between Federer and Thiem with both players giving their all. Thiem is full of confidence saving two match points against Federer and is looking good at winning this title after falling just short last year against Zverev in the final. This year he doesn't need to worry as Zverev was knocked out by Stefanos Tsitsipas who is in top form. Its shaping up to be one of the best French Opens in a very long time with so many players in good form and the good thing is that its the young talent that is now starting to step up.
