Olga Danilović managed to win her first title in professional tennis after win against Potapova 2:1. It was very tough match but Olga was more calm and finished that match.

Olga became first player born in this century to win a title. Also, she became the youngest lady who won any title on WTA Tour.

I might be boring with all this but I think we are witnessing a birth of a new star. Cheesy

Potapova is a young star too. I think she won Wimbledon juniors a couple of years ago. Tennis is moving on, with new stars on the rise. Gonna be interesting few years coming up once the Williams sisters retire and Sharapova getting old too. It is absolutely crazy how long the Williams sisters have lasted on the tour. Massive respect for them.

Yes this is a huge achievement for someone so young to win their first title. She does look like she will be a top player but the question is can she continue to go on with it. We have seen so many players with talent winning great matches but can never go onto becoming that star player. One that comes to mind for me is Eugenie Bouchard who looked to become a star player but has since drop out of the top players in Women's tennis. I think if Olga can stay fit and healthy then she has a huge chance at being the best one day.

17-year old Serbian girl Olga Danilović reached semi final of tournament in Moscow! She outscored world's number ten Julia Georges 6:3 6:3.
She lost in qualifications to Badosa but she had luck to end up in main draw after some players decided not to play in Moscow.
Her dream came true! I can say that our future in women tennis is bright with this talent!

I have not seen this match but will definitely search for this, from what you have said she's definitely the next big thing in the world of tennis. I just hopes she's able to control her new earned fame and not end up making a mess like sharapova who had such a amazing carrer and now all that is left is tainted memory of her, when is the final and who's up against her it'll be epic if she wins it.

You are absolutely right man. It's too early to predict her future but for now she looks pretty good. I mean, damn, she is just 17.

Her adventure is not coming to an end yet. She defeated Sasnovich today 2:1 (6:2 5:7 7:5) where she showed strong head when she lossed three straight gems when she had 5:2 and managed to win next two and finish match.

She will be playing in final against another one 17-year old player, Russian Potapova.

Hmmm. Interesting, haven't heard about her but at this early age, I think he can definitely win some trophies and became a future number 1. I think most tennis greats started at a young age and developed their talent and skills and winning tournaments at age 20++. And around that age, she will peak already and be a contender. Surely gonna watch her develop.

@Juggy777, too early to compare here to Maria Sharapova.  Grin, let her develop her own tennis destiny.

I'm bored so going to dip into a bit of tennis, there's a football game tonight in the US I'm still unsure if I'll watch (a friendly at best, even if it's got a fancy tourney name).

Marco Cecchinato's been doing really well at the ATPs after winning his first only 3 months ago. His opponent in the final today also had a marvellous run, winning me two bets along the way but I'm going to have to back the younger Italian to add to his ATP title today.

So a ML bet @1.8 is as sweet as it gets: https://www.bitcoinrush.io/sportsbook/ShareBet?id=uI%2BQY%2BTP%2BBrbQ5yE2ubpjTLiv5uUju%2BxDo1TalSElqs%3D

I would say it's pretty good bet. Also, I place bet on Johnson. He plays against Ramanathan and he is big favourite in that one. The odd is not big but I combined it with some football matches.

Just as what everyone is expected about this past performance, it was more of a mental game for Novak.

Quote
Novak Djokovic: Wimbledon champion had 'mental hurdles' to overcome

Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic says he had "mental hurdles" to overcome as he fought back from injury problems.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/44896621

Ever since going down with injuries and not winning a trophy for more than a year, everyone thought that Novak is already done in the sports of tennis. And we speculate that he psychological barriers that he needs to overcome. He wrote a emotional letter to his Family and Fans to explain everything about the inner problems and what has he goes through the journey of winning Wimbledon 2018.

Novak Djokovic looks to be back at 100% winning his 4th Wimbledon title and 13th Grand Slam title overall. He deserved this win as he has been fighting to get fit for a long time now and its good to see him back up there with the greats. Djokovic in my opinion is the one who can overtake Federer with the most Grand Slam titles record as he is great on all surfaces and still has many years in him if he can remain healthy. The upcoming US open is going to be interesting to see who will start favourite.

I see Novak favorite for Wimbledon winner as he defeated Nadal after a tough match. Nadal played very well but it was unlucky and upset day for Nadal and finally Novak was the winner of game. After looking tough matched among these outstanding players now I can decide that Novak will win the final because you can not decide when you see top players Roger, Nadal and Novak but finally Novak is my choice.

Roger Federer won the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon tennis tournament by beating  Adrian Mannarino 6-0, 7-5, 6-4 on Monday. With a victory over Manarino, Federer, 36, has qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition for the 16th time in his history.
I told that Wimbledon is Roger’s game and he knows better how to defeat opponents on grass as it is hard to play on grass and this clears the difference between players as they find it difficult to play on grass but Roger has this skill and make troubles for his opponents. Novak and Nadal both are in form and they have the ability to make tough situations but you know Roger is impressive.

I think we can all rest the argument that he has no longer the will to win any tournaments. Although he has been struggling lately, but with his showing at the Wimbledon, there's no doubt that he is back at 100% and hungrier to win more titles. US Open will be coming so he is now the favourite together with Roger Federer.
Yeah, we can consider him one of the biggest favourites to win US open again. Even he said that he doesn't like number 13 (number of grand slams) and that he wants to move from it as soon as possible. Tongue

I am very interested to see his performance in following Masters, especially in Cincinnati since he has never won it yet.

Oh for sure, he's back. Had my doubts, and he probably had his too. But good wins under his belt, taking care of Nadal along the way, good route to the final. I think he deserves this.

All that said though, I can't see him overtaking Fedex. He's actually only got 5 years over Federer, and to achieve the Swiss's levels of fitness at his age is already a mean feat. Nadal's still got a better chance, and has met Fedex so often in finals.

Yes it will be hard to see Djokovic overtake Federer in Grand Slam titles however if he can get back to where he was a few years ago he was unstoppable even with the top players like Nadal and Federer playing and lets not forget Murray who was at the peak of his form. So I can see Novak achieving this if he can stay healthy. He also now has a big chance to take out the US Open title which as we all know he plays very well on hard courts. I just think he has a better shot at it then Nadal as Novak is a good player on all surfaces compared to Nadal.

Just took a sniff at the odds but @1.12 for Djoko to win is too small, and not worth the straight sets bet either. He's still my favourite too and he should win but I wonder if a punt on Andersen @4-ish is worth it. I don't think anyone can recover from 6-hour matches in 2 days, so that's somewhat against him but then Djoko's had his own long game plus he played 2 days in a row.

Hard call, and World Cup final's only 2 hours away from Wimbledon final. Choices, choices!
