USOpen Potential QF 2018->

Nadal v Anderson
Del Potro v Dimitrov
Zverev v Cilic
Federer v Djokovic

I don't think we can expect Fedal Smiley Federer also has to face Kyrgios in the 3rd round , what do you guys think ?

This could be a possibility, depending on how well Kyrgios goes he could be a challenge for Federer if his mind is on the job. This is what's frustrating with Kyrgios as he has so much talent but his mentality isn't there just yet.

Right. But yeah, we understand why they crack under pressure because its really a big stage for them, it like unchartered territory for this young guns. Dominic is a good bet I believed and its good if you are going to put some small bet on him, might be able to pull some upset, but Djokovic is really back. I just wish that Murray name can be in the mix as well so that its going to be a exciting US Open specially if everyone is healthy.

When I checked the betting markets Murray is showing up but I don't know if he will take his place in the US open or not so I'm not willing to risk a bet on him and also I don't think he is 100% fit, to me he looks about 75% which won't be enough to win this. I only have a small bet of $20 on Dominic Thiem @35 odds 2 weeks ago.

the Us Open is about to start after this win for Djokovic in Cincinati i think his chances for him big to get the US Open alongside Nadal, Federer is slowly losing his game that's why i don't put him ias a winner for also it have been ten years for him since he won it before that he got it 5 times in row from 03 to 08 while Djoko got to the final 7 times in his career and won it twice he is starting to get back in shapre despite seeing him in difficult positions in Cincinati that's why i think that the Current Champion Nadal have a say on this one

Novak Djokovic has the momentum in his side going to the US Open. So he will be one of the favorites again with Nadal and then I rank Federer as my third choice. And its going to be exciting because it looks like almost all of the top seeds are healthier again. And then we also have Stan, del Potro. and Thiem  as well.

@Juggy777,  I don't think that the youngsters will have a good run and will come up raising the trophy at the US Open. They usually choke at this big stage, I still see that any of the big 3 will take the title this year.

This is what I mentioned in a previous tweet leading into Wimbledon, the up and coming young players play well in the lead up tournaments but when it comes to Grand Slams they seem to crack when under pressure. The only Grand Slam where the young players were able to do well in was the French Open with Dominic Thiem making the final but was no match for Nadal. I think Dominic Thiem is a good chance for the US Open and that is why I put a small bet on him at the huge odds. But I do agree that it will most likely be the top players fighting it out again.

While it is nice to see Djokovic finally back on his top level, I was little disappointed that Federer couldn't win. Djokovic was too strong this final and achieved a new milestone also.
I must also agree with Kemarit, chances are very high that on the US Open Djokovic, Nadal or Federer will win the trophee. While some young players are coming, they need to withstand the pressure that a grand slam can have on them.

Djokovic has beaten Federer in straight sets in the Cincinnati Masters final and becomes the first man to beat Federer in the final as he was 7-0. Djokovic also created more history by becoming the first man to win every single one of the nine Masters 1000 tournaments. Djokovic now leads Federer 12-6 in title matches, and 24-22 in the overall series.

Djokovic finally has the final missing trophy to his cabinet, it's been a long wait for him to finally get his hands on it. This trophy will indeed be special for him, as he has beaten Federer to win it. I didn't know his track record was so good against Federer, with the odds against him, he yet won comfortably. I'm lucky gave this match a pass, but if I played it would be a Federer winning it.

The US open is a whole new level, many youngsters are coming up and it won't be easy for these stars i.e. Nadal, Federer, Murray and Djokovic however I won't discount them, I would like to see their form, match fitness before I choose to play. Nadal on his day can win it, but with so many upsets happening it's to early to choose a favourite.

I already have a bet Dominic Thiem as my underdog to win the US Open at odds of $34. I also just put a bet on Alexander Zverev @ $11 and I also really like Djokovic at the odds of $3.50 as he looks in fine form leading into the Open. I see Murray is also in the market at $13 but not sure if he would get through as he does look like he is not fully fit for this tournament.

Anyone else here having a outright bet on the winner? and if so who do you fancy to win?

Well done to Djokovic here. He was slightly disadvantaged if we accept the bookie's odds, and you normally have to be at your very best to catch the Swiss on a rally, but he seemed relatively comfortable in this victory. I should have stuck to betting on him for the nice ML doubler. I really didn't think Federer would go down so easily, made me lose my over 23.5 games bet by a longshot too.

I'll pick up my dashed hopes and slink away to Premier League football for today.

Djokovic is through to the Cincinnati Masters final winning in 3 sets and now we wait to see who he will play as the Federer/Goffin match is live right now with Federer up by 1 game in the 1st set. I think this has been a good lead up tournament for the veterans which all look in fine form heading into the US Open. I would like to see Federer make the final and play Djokovic as it would be a great game.

Hah. Goffin gave Fedex a nice break by just retiring, so he'll be that much fresher facing Djokovic. A really great game, couldn't have asked for better.

Djoko always makes my day when betting on him, but then again, so does Federer and his incredible fitness at this age, giving me a lot of joy far longer than I thought.

The odds are all not too interesting for outright wins, and I feel too risky to go for straight set wins but this has to be a gargantuan match between 2 veterans, both past their peak but both in a rich vein of form. So I'm just going for a simple doubler on Over 23.5. As long as the first set ends up tight, it'll be fine.

Federer have the advantage in this match because in the last three times both met in cincinati Federer won but tonight Djoko had another talk and snatched his 31 masters titles from Federer while Federer account freezed in 27 masters title, Federer had a chance today to balance his wins and losses against Djoki because from the 45 encounters between both players Federer won 22 but now Djoko got the 24 also Federer won Concinati 7 times so it's one of his favorites while the Serbian won his only one tonight after this title Djolo jumps back to 6th place and he will be just little bit more then 100 points to get in top 3

After his comeback against Dimitrov, Novak managed to win another one tough match. This time against Raonić. Novak won first set, but lost second, and needed to catch up one break in third set. He managed to get his perfect play and win this one.

As you know, Novak has won all Masters but Cincinatti and I think now is the right time to do so.

Agree he has more motivation than others to win it, but the weight of history and the form of everyone else means he's still to me an outsider to win it. Del Potro lost to Goffin earlier and Fedex overcame an early setback to progress. I'd still put a fair bet on Federer to go on to win it, cept my bookies doesn't have the most interesting lines.

No other interesting match before football week starts, and I like my luck on Djoko but Cilic is no pushover so I'm going to go for an over 22.5 games @1.8: https://www.bitcoinrush.io/sportsbook/ShareBet?id=RyvlJ5gvkhqFYnMFxmKqkUh%2BdB2q%2BD1n3kKylIJIJfo%3D

Sadly though, the young rising star Tsitsipas, lost in Cincinnati to Goffin, 7-5, 6-3. So he was unable to sustain his magical run. Still nothing to worry, you win some you lose some. And he is still very young, and like everyone thinks of him, very bright future and could be the future of tennis. Oh and Roger Federer is a 6-4 6-4 winner over Peter Gojowczyk.

Oh yeah, he will be back for sure, the journey has just began and his is just another bump along the way and let this be a good lesson for his young career.

It looks like we need to wait for Andy Murray's comeback as he was defeated by Lucas Pouille in the first round of the Cincinnati Masters. He withdraw from the Roger's Cup to continue his recovery but I think he needs more time not just physically but emotionally as well. Novak, Kei Nishikori and Denis Shapovalov get a win and will get thru the next round.

I really think Murray should now rest up and maybe miss the US Open this year and get his body fit and healthy ready for the new tennis season next year. He could aim for the Australian Open where he has had some success making the final on a number of occasions. There is no point pushing on if his body isn't 100% ready just yet. Novak is looking good and is getting back into top form, I actually like him to win the US Open even though I have a bet on  Dominic Thiem to win it as a value bet.

Novak also had to make a lot of decisions when he was on a comeback trail. I read as well that he used like "natural way" to heal his elbow. Anyways, Andy's injury is hip while Novak is elbow, two different things with different approach, but I guess the best to recovery is just take a good rest or maybe sort of getting another opinions as well. Medical technology has advanced so much this century that I have no doubt that Andy can get the best treatment for his injury.

Rest is the most important thing right now for Murray as there is no point in him pushing his body for the final Grand Slam of the year and make sure that he is ready for the Australian Open which like I said he has had some success with. Only he knows how he feels but as we see he doesn't look fully fit going by his last match.

Agree, his body and mind are giving him a different signals. Specially after the Citi Open, he looks as though he stretch his body too far for a recovery. Its better for him to rest and don't join any tournaments this year and be back 2019 fresh and strong mentally and maybe its going to a slow progress but at least a better choice right now instead of pushing his body to the limits and get injured again.
