There is a good match coming up between Thiem and Nishikori which should be a great game to watch. I'm hoping that Thiem can win as I do have some money on him to win the tournament along with Zverev who should win against Khachanov. I also now think del Potro has a big chance at going all the way as he looks in fine form at the minute.

Amazing. I lost all three of my bets yesterday, and by the looks of it, way off the mark. Was really not expecting Djoko to struggle the way he did, all that swagger and bravado almost cost him the last 16. Not sure I really like players who take it out on their racquets the way he did though, petulant little Serbian =p Still, the match of the day.

No bets today to recover, heh. Not even a tempting parlay on Edmund, Cilic, Zverev, Nadal to all go through.

Tough news and for a top 500 ranked tennis player, you've really got to wonder why there isn't more scrutiny at these kinds of levels. I wouldn't be surprised to find the same in women's too. You always have your suspicions for football where there are 11 in a team and some seem to have such wildly shitty games.

My bets for R3:
- Zerev should win easy at least 1 set, so Under 30.5 @1.92 for the Zverev/Dzumhur game looks good.
- Djoko made short work in the last match, so another Under 35 @19.2

Throwing in a mixed doubles today for Buzarnescu/Kontinen @1.7... playing against Yu/Marach, I actually don't recall their opponents before so almost betting on familiarity here.

I'm bit surprised you'll took a bet on yuki why in the world would you take a bet on him lol, I would never take a call on him. As far as the woman game is concerned I'll agree it's really difficult to take a final call, some are not in shape and those who're get suddenly knocked out. I don't think sharapova will win or S Willians though it was good to see her play.

I get slightly tempted when odds jump, Yuki went from 9/5 to 2/1 just suddenly so I thought, yes, why not? Besides the fact that I always bet silly on tennis haha. Totally stayed away from betting yesterday after 2 days' straight loss. I've never been a fan of Sharapova, but that's just personal. I don't watch women's games anyway, but always like to pick on high odds - it seems to me likely that winners tend not to be the favourites unlike men's.

Anyway, Djoko had it easy after the first set so he's going to be my well-rested pick on Friday against Bautista, depending on how the odds may or may not change. Only 6/5 so it's going to have to be for a 2/3 game parlay.

No bets today as well, and only the Nadal-Pella game to watch.

@babygun: well at least tell us how to spot you!
Del Potro, Nadal, Zverev, Thiem and Djokovic all made it to the third round of the competition. Meanwhile Ukraine's Dmytro Badanov has been banned for life and fined an additional $100K for match fixing. He had a career high of 463rd position during 2015

Looks like Badanov have been doing this for years now before he was caught. I wouldn't be surprised if he is really tanking in his games as he always loses on the first round in straight sets. However, that's normal though, may be investigative body really found the smoking gun that's why he is banned for life in tennis. Its good for the sports though, clean them before its goes out of proportion.

Its Yuki Bhambri , he is Indian ( currently #1 Indian tennis player) , I had great hopes on him , this is his first Roland Garros and he screwed it up Sad He was facing against Lucky loser and couldn't manage to steal a set , disappointed .

Btw, be very careful while betting on women's matches because they are highly unpredictable.

Yeah, I lost the Yuki bet, looks like he was far from it too. And Sharapova lost a set along with my parlay, even if Williams won her game. Thinking I should rest my luck for today and just enjoy the games. Not happy with consecutive losses.

Yep women play is very unpredictable. It are womens, what do you expect  Grin (just joking lol).

I saw S. Williams play today, she still has some powerful strokes but is really not in shape. I can't imagine her to lift the title this year.

Now, now, just because theirs aren't as high-octane as mens don't mean they are any less predictable than men's... the Williams are always a surprise to me and make good value bets early on to lift title. She won last years Australian open at over 20/1 odds, while the favorites were always doubtful to me.
There was once a lot of competition in the women’s tournament back in the days, Sharapova was on fire mainly because of the performance enhancing drugs that she was using, but now their games aren’t as ferocious as it used to be.

I always find that there are more upsets in the women division in the earlier rounds compared to the men. The Williams sisters can surprise also this year but I don't believe in it.

By the way I will be watching some matches live on Friday (court 1)  Grin

OK, caught a last minute bet on Yuki Bambhri (or however you spell his name) as it jumped suddenly to 2/1 odds. Thought I would try women's but Sharapova's slim picking at -1.5 sets @1.3 needs to be parlayed with a Serena Williams ML bet @1.46 to be a nice 2/1.

If I don't do well, I'll probably do one last round tomorrow. I'm notoriously bad at tennis betting.

@Trofo Oh and yeah, Nadal's retirement came up on a british channel I was er... watching. Couldn't quite catch it but the same old blah blah about his injuries and wondering if he would still fight to be king of clay (he's only what, 32?). I might have overreacted when I made that post Wink

LOL. Yuki Bhambri has been campaigning for quite some time now and I think he only manages to go to the second round as far as the big 3 events, (US, French and Wimbledon), although as a Junior he won the Australian Open if I'm not mistaken. I think the last Asian we saw Paradorn Srichaphan from Thailand who made noises around the mid 2000's and as was even at the Top 10. Yeah, I wouldn't bet on women's matches are they are very unpredictable and upsets do always happens.

I think it's too early to expect something from Serena Williams but if any player was to shock me then i will say that it has to be her especially how she managed to overcome a first round defeat and won the second round to advance to the second round where she will meet Barty from Australia.

Football season is over so thank god for Tennis. Opening my bets with a single parlay on today's French Open matches:

Dusan Lajovic vs Jiri Vesely @1.45
David Ferrer vs 8117Jaume Munar @1.45
Novak Djokovic (-2.5 Sets) vs Rogerio Dutra Silva @1.46

For a 3-game parlay @3.1

Too early for risky underdog bets, and this win will give me some legroom for juicy gambles later on.

I agree with first and last bet but didn't want to put any money on Ferrer. He is just terrible this season.
I think following are good bets as well:
Gasquet vs. Seppi @ 1.4
Fabbiano vs. Ebden @ 1.4

I had few more but the matches started so I will not post them here.

Bloody hell you turned out to be right. Lost my parlay so narrowly too as Bleeding Ferrer actually won his first two sets comfortably, but credit to the hard-fought wins to Munar (I've no idea who he is to be honest), that was a 4 hour+ epic... and his reward is to face Djokovic.

And what's this about Nadal's retirement? Don't do it man. Just avoid clay and let this be your last one, but we need guys like you for a few more years.

Not sure yet but I might switch to Women's today.

Yesterday tuned out to be good day for me, I also had Checchinato (or however it is spelled) and he was loosing 2:0 in sets to Copil but managed to win. I am still waiting for Fabbiano on one ticket, match was interrupted due to rain. If he manages to win it will be really nice profit.

Is there some news that Nadal is retiring? Didn't see anything about that yet. If you decide to go for women's today - Good luck. I was never able to get them to win me some money.

Some players I believe will win today, still didn't check the matches thoroughly and made selection:
Shapovalov
Edmund
Fucsovic
Ymer
Lopez
Delpo
Johnson
Bemelmans

in the tennis arena, I always wait for roger federer to play, and I'm betting on his victory.
Rafael Nadal has won the first set in the French Open by 6-4 and is currently trailing the second set by 1-3 to Simon Bolleli of Italy.Nadal has  won all five games against Bolelli.

Bolleli is playing quite well for the moment, but in the end Nadal will win this.
The odds for Nadal to win the championship is @1.4 (@unibet), no value at all in this.
The last time I check the scores, 6-4 6-3 0-3, with Nadal leading but it was suspended due to rain. So they will resume play tomorrow but it looks like Nadal will go on the next round tomorrow.

Everyone can follow the tournament on their official twitter account: https://twitter.com/rolandgarros

Its a shame that rain suspended play, it will be interesting to see if Bolleli can keep his lead in the 3rd set once play resumes tomorrow or will Nadal fight back and win it in 3 sets. We saw Nadal come back and win in a lead up tournament after a rain delay but this time its a little different as play is the next day. Djokovic isn't in the best form however he was able to get the win and if he can keep going through it could help him hit top form at the back end which is where it all counts so I'm not riding him off just yet.
