in the tennis arena, I always wait for roger federer to play, and I'm betting on his victory.
Rafael Nadal has won the first set in the French Open by 6-4 and is currently trailing the second set by 1-3 to Simon Bolleli of Italy.Nadal has  won all five games against Bolelli.

Football season is over so thank god for Tennis. Opening my bets with a single parlay on today's French Open matches:

Dusan Lajovic vs Jiri Vesely @1.45
David Ferrer vs 8117Jaume Munar @1.45
Novak Djokovic (-2.5 Sets) vs Rogerio Dutra Silva @1.46

For a 3-game parlay @3.1

Too early for risky underdog bets, and this win will give me some legroom for juicy gambles later on.

I agree with first and last bet but didn't want to put any money on Ferrer. He is just terrible this season.
I think following are good bets as well:
Gasquet vs. Seppi @ 1.4
Fabbiano vs. Ebden @ 1.4

I had few more but the matches started so I will not post them here.

Novak Djokovic, Thiem all made it to the second round of the French open whiles Stan Wawrinka was eliminated meanwhile Azarenka was also eliminated earlier today when she faced Siniakova.

Novak is not in great form, he used to be in top class form but recently he's really bad I expect this tournament to be another collection in the wins of nadal. Nadal has not only found it to keep himself in proper shape, but he's been top class in each and every match, I hope he wins it outright. Though it'll be interesting to see if the Novak makes it to the finals.

Not long now before the French Open starts and like I have been saying on here, I'm going to be looking for some value as Nadal is too short at $1.40 to win. I decided to put two small bets on Alexander Zverev @ $9.00 and Dominic Thiem @ $11, I think these two offer great value as they have performed well in the lead up tournaments and they seem to be the main challenge to beating Nadal. Djokovic is also good at $13 but just not sure if his fitness is 100% to challenge Nadal. I bet with Bet365.

Thanks mate for letting us know what the line is for Zverev and Thiem as they are the one who likely challenge Nadal for the French crown. Probably Nadal will go around $1 - $1.2 once the tournament started because he is really the favorite.

Or maybe we can see someone getting into the picture. I don't think that Djokovic will have the stamina to put up a good show in this tournament. Might take some time for him to recover to his old form.

It was definitely not meant to be for Zverev after he lost out to Rafael Nadal by 2-1 losing 6-1 1-6 and 6-3. This win ended up with Nadal retaking the No.1 position from Federer after this win against Zverev.

Zverev actually surprised me with the level of tennis against Nadal today. You don't see Nadal loosing a set 6:1 on clay very often. Zverev was up 3:1 in final set as well before rain delay. If there hasn't been a delay I think Zverev would have won this one, he had Nadal on the ropes. This way, after a break of more than 1 hour all the fatigue from 3 weeks of playing tennis every day probably kicked in and Nadal used his chance to win another master.

Congrats to Nadal and I expect another meeting between these two on Roland Garros.

I agree with you that I think Zverev would have won if it wasn't for this rain delay as he had all the momentum and Nadal looked down for the count. It does show though that Zverev can match it with the best on clay and that is why I give him a high chance at upstaging Nadal in the French Open. I'm going to put a small amount of money on Zverev to win the Open even though Nadal will most likely win but his odds don't offer much value.

Experience is indeed the best teacher because Nadal schooled him on clay today, at a point though i thought Zverev had a great chance but Nadal proved too strong eventually under some favorable weather conditions i must admit but that also makes you a champion because you need to adapt, no matter the circumstances you may face on the turf.
Experience can't be thought and I'm sure that game really give Zverev a good experience playing against Nadal. I wouldn't say schooled him but give him valuable lessons because after the rain, Nadal is more focus as he overcome Zverev. Nadal adapted while Zverev wasn't and that cost him a big win. Going to be interesting in the next coming years if Nadal stays in form and Zverev gaining the needed experience, not just physical but mental toughness as well.
I can say that he lost his focus after the rain and that cost him very dearly, Hopefully he is going to learn a lot from it and evolve into an even better player in the near future.

Right. it seems he went back as a different play and because he wasn't able to come back after leading the set and just watch Nadal took over. Everyone agrees that he has a bright future ahead, but he needs to stay really sharp in this kind of situations and not to succumb to it. Hopefully he really learn his very lesson and make him one of the best tennis players in the future.

True and that is something that Zverev will need to do if he wants to become a great player, adapt to all things that could come his way and in this case it was the rain delay. In time with experience he will adapt to these things that happen, as he looks like that type of player with a good mentality.

I agree as well, he has all the momentum going and I'm sure that those watching thought that he will bet Nadal, however, it wasn't meant to be as the rain delay chance the complexion of the game, he lost his momentum and Nadal took over because of his experience.

Yes, I'm sure that when the betting line opens for the French Open, Zverev's odd will offer us a good value and we won't regret betting on him so we might as go and take the chance.

I can actually see a legend in the making in Zverev, even though Nadal is past his prime and Zverev is still lacking some experience. Zverev did very well and i believe as he accumulate a lot of experience through the games that he plays, he will one day become a very formidbale player.

Zverev is playing great but I don't think he will be able to defeat the king today . Although yesterday match wasn't that "great"(because I was expecting more from Djoker in second set) I guess today will be an one sided match too . My bet goes to Nadal winning in straight sets.

I am not so sure about that straight sets bet. Zverev is probably quite tired from playing day after day for two weeks with lots of difficult matches. But today is the final against king of clay and he will want to show his best side. He is aware that he doesn't have a real chance if it comes to third set so I am expecting him to enter the match with all guns firing. I think I will play something like kh on first set or maybe even that Zverev takes 1. set and hope he will not choke under heavy expectations. It would be prudent to maybe wait for a match to start and than place a live bet.

This would be the most favourable thing to do if betting on a finals matchup in tennis.
To see which way the match goes for either player after the first set then view which one has the confidence to close the second.
Nadal against Fognini was hard to see who had the upper hand because Fabio broke Nadal early and took the first set. He also had the roar of the crowd behind him as he is playing on home court. Having lost to Thiem in Madrid during the last tournament, those memories are still fresh in Nadal's mind. Embarrassed

I bet on Nadal during a finals last year for the Australian Open when he was playing against Federer. And he lost it late into the match.
After Roger took a medical timeout he came back and beat Nadal.
So waiting to bet later into the second set would be the best option if you are planning on wagering any amount on either Zverev or Nadal to win this one.
