Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka first test match

The T20 series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and the ODI series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have warmed the audience and the fans just as every match in the Test series will warm everyone.

We had a wonderful T20 and ODI series between the two team but the question is whether there will be same entertainment in the test series too ?
Do you want to see ODI or T20 or prefer to watch a 5-day-long test match  Huh

That is my question and according to me, we should have to watch all the formats if you have an interest in cricket but nowadays, people are going to be very busy as the communication system increased while in the past, everything was slow and people had unlimited time to free that's why on that time, mostly we have seen ODI or 5 days matches and many people were also going to see those matches while being at the Stadium with fun but now they are getting tired after sitting with 9 hours at Stadium. Once a side there is a T20 match where in the powerplay of first innings, we are excited. In the middle, the match going to be slow. In the last death overs, the matches start again at a fast pace where we have seen many boundaries and wickets. Test matches will lack this type of entertainment.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka first test match

The T20 series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and the ODI series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have warmed the audience and the fans just as every match in the Test series will warm everyone. Now when Bangladesh and Sri Lanka play there is such excitement among the spectators that it seems that these two teams are arch rival . An interesting fact about the Test series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is that Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasharanga broke his retirement and joined the Sri Lankan squad for the Test match against Bangladesh.

In the Bangladesh Test squad against Sri Lanka we see several young players most of whom are inexperienced and some may make their debut in this match between Sri Lanka.

Quote
During the third ODI in the recently-concluded series against Bangladesh, Hasaranga was found guilty of breaching article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "showing dissent at an Umpire's decision during an International Match."

The incident occurred in the 37th over of the game when Hasaranga snatched his cap from one of the umpires and ridiculed the umpiring in the match. Bangladesh took the series 2-1 after winning the contest by four wickets.
They once again proved that the Sri Lankans are very bad minded players. Earlier they behaved like this with the umpire in a match in the World Cup maybe it was against Bangladesh. They misbehaved with the umpire that day, possibly after a controversial time-out incident. Cricket's apex body ICC should take strict action against these players.

One funny news regarding Sri Lankan all rounder Hasaranga.

After playing just 4 test matches, the dude took an early retirement. Recently he backtracked on his retirement and made himself available for test format, the funny part is as soon as he came back in the test scene. He was slapped with 2 match ban because he earned extra demerit points in the recently concluded ODI series.

Hasaranga handed two-Test ban after coming out of retirement

BCCI has the capability to even influence ICC and make changes in the rules that may restrict players from migrating but I guess they won't do unless the individual hurts someone's ego in the BCCI table.

[/quote]
I'm afraid that's not right on many counts. People migrate for a better life, better opportunities etc and Professional athletes are no different.

BGT is scheduled in Dec this year but look at how CA gets on with the scheduling. They already fixed the venue for all 5 test matches. Tickets should also be available soon and in contrast, look at how BCCI conducts these arrangements.

Getting into the list of 30 members squad it's an impossible task even when someone did everything they can still they have to wait for their opportunity because Indian cricket team is filled with players so they can't make everyone who perform in the domestic tournaments into the national side. Building different set of core players for different formats can give few more seats but it's impossible to fit every talents is the Harsh reality. And someone recently said I had enough now I want to play against India and other cricket boards will be happy to have them as well.
Yeah, Unmukt Chand India u-19 ODI WC winning captain. He was supposed to be India's new big star and was going strong, but the dude lost his mojo against Brett Lee and everything after that went in the opposite direction. He had to migrate USA and now i guess leading them.

Relocating is an option but players lose 3-4 years because of the cooling period.

We have dry season for OG cricket for the next couple of months due to the biggest T20 event until that this thread will go into hibernation.

^^ Not everything is related to backing. Likes of Patidar, Paddikal, Jurel, Akash Deep, and Sarfraz had no backing but they made it because they did a hard yard in Ranji and at the right time performed for India A.

Sarfraz is a good example, he was performing poorly for India A but this time he had a nice outing against England Lions and got in the Indian squad. The absence of first choice players also helped but luck favors the brave.

For Ranji cricketers to draw attention, they need to pile up a ridiculous amount of runs and an average of less than 50 won't give you a front seat even in India A.

I stand with Palestine.

I really hope that players such as Akshay Wadkar are noticed by the Indian selectors. He has been performing in the domestic circuit quite consistently over the years, but never made it to the top level due to lack of powerful backers. He is a wicket-keeper batsman who has lead from the front. Also, I would say that it was a good comeback series for Karun Nair. His performance has improved and matured after he moved from Karnataka to Vidarbha. He was the leading run-scorer for Vidarbha in this season, with 690 runs at an average of 40.58.
I agree with you. It is sad when talented players like Akshay Wadkar do not get noticed because they do not have strong supporters. Selectors should give chances to players who do well in domestic matches not just the famous players. Akshay Wadkar is a good leader and plays well as a wicketkeeper batsman so selectors should think about picking him for Indian team.
And you are right Karun Nair is playing really well since he moved from Karnataka to Vidarbha. He is scoring good runs in recent season which shows that his decision to change teams was good. In general selectors should be more open and fair when picking players for Indian cricket team.

Yes, I'm watching the Ranji Trophy Mumbai very close to winning this trophy because Vidarbha lost his main 5 wickets in 248 scored at the end of day four test match. Vidarbha needs 290 runs to win this final match and only 1 day left, they only have 5 wickets in hand to chase down this big target. From Vidarbha Wadkar is playing well scoring half century and remaining unbeaten. I think Mumbai will win this final test of the Ranji Trophy easily if they are successful in picking the wicket of Wadkar's.

Is anyone following the Ranji Trophy final? Mumbai is on the verge of winning the title, as Vidarbha still trails by 289 runs with just 6 wickets remaining. Karun Nair was the only Vidarbha batsman who got going, as he made 74 against his name. Akshay Wadkar is still there with 56, but he is rapidly running out of partners. It is just a matter of time before the experienced Mumbai bowlers (Tushar Deshpande, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shardul Thakur and Shams Mulani) get the remaining wickets.

Lots of juicy cricket drama recently. Firstly, we have Kohli's inclusion controversy in the upcoming T20 World Cup which is ridiculous in my opinion since he is a key pillar of the team and excluding him would be dumb.

Secondly, we have the Gill-Anderson-Bairstow controversy where Gill acted mature by not disclosing their argument while 'Big Baby' Anderson made it public.
Guess, it's all media chatter on Kohli. BTW, I checked your IPL thread, consider me in.

Well, all credit goes to redhead Bairstow. This incident came into the limelight because of his bigmouth near stump mic otherwise Gill had already cleared things in a press conference by keeping things in between him and Jimmy.

LOL.. all this after winning the first match in spectacular fashion. They won the first test match against all odds, but then went on to lose the series 1-4. And remember that India was without some of their regular players. For me, the reasons for the failure from England resulted from the following factors:

1. James Anderson was under-utilized
2. Too much dependence on Shoaib Bashir, who failed to live up to the expectations
3. Usage of bazball even in situations where it was not suitable
4. Using spinners against tailend batsmen, rather than pacers
5. Continued poor performance of England's batsmen against Indian spinners.
Yeah, I agree with your all points about English failure because there were too much hype about Bazball, and they completely ignore Indian conditions even they have done good work with having few spinners, but they were no well experienced, and their technique was also not good to have good results in India they have few good pace bowlers, but they never use them properly which is also miserable but hopefully now they will be able to have their lesson and will come again with better strategy because we all know Indian conditions are never been easy to play for the SENA countries with here they needed good study of all things if they want to have any success.

First test win was surely shocking but too many high expectations after this win was another big mistake which give them the worst ever results in next all four games no English batsmen able to play confidently against spinners.
Saw some English experts' analysis regarding this tour and a lot of focus on the inexperienced spin bowling lineup because they overperformed in a way because the bar was too low for them. Their batters did shit the bed overall but most of them never had defense playing spin anyway so their style of play was never sustainable.

The main point is how come they failed to produce any quality spinner after Swann and Panesar (in last decade) and seamers who put enough pressure on the subcontinent deck by claiming a bag of wickets, tells you more about their seriousness and county system where assistance to spin is hard to find and seamers only rely on swing and weather conditions. One of the major reasons they always get exposed against top teams like India and Australia in the away series.

Indian spin bowlers have made a huge impact in winning or losing the game. England is definitely the best team in all three formats, so England should have planned the team according to how the wicket could be in Asian conditions or which fast bowler or spin bowler would be more effective for the test match. Why didn't England add extra spin bowlers to their team if spin bowlers get extra advantage. If a quality spin bowler like India had in the XI, the result of this series might have been different but it was not.
In the fifth test match India won by an inning and 64 runs against England. This test match ended on just the 3rd day of the match and India winning the series by 4-1. From India the Player of the Match Kuldeep Yadav for his outstanding all-round batting and bowling performance. Kukdepp Yadav batting well scored 30 runs, and picked 5 important wickets by giving 72 runs. In the second inning they picked 2 wickets and helped his team to all out England in just 195 runs.
England's Test series against India was like a bad dream. Test series between India and England are usually very competitive but this Test series we noticed something different. England won the first match of this Test series but it was entirely due to the mistakes of the Indian batsmen. In the second innings of the first test match, India performed much worse than the first innings whereas England batted much better in the second innings than in the first innings, due to which India lost the first match to England. However, in the last four matches, India did not give any chance to England.
You are right England performance give very poor performance in this series against India. They lost four back to back test match in this series and lost the series by 4-1. Its a huge setbacks for England team they didn't played good cricket in last test match India won by an innings and more then 60 plus runs. England needs to improve his bowling and batting performance and make some changes in playing XI.

If India and Australia both manage to reach finals again then it's another ICC trophy for the latter party lol. In a one-off encounter, India has only slim chances against any SENA country in the English conditions due to obvious, which I mentioned many times in the past.

Yeah, BIG -3 plays a lot of tests but India is still lagging as far as the fixed home season is concerned (In the context of a Boxing Day Test type schedule). In the long run, BCCI must also look at this issue.

If we look at current position of points table then India is at top with 74 points while Australians have 90 points and third team has got 36 points. So based on current standings It’s very obvious that Australia and India will play the final.
Only India, Australia and England play test with there full strength teams while other teams like SA and WI are not much interested in test and most of there players are busy in leagues during test series.
Points comparison has become irrelevant because ICC has already changed the criteria as BIG-3 plays more tests and that's not the case with the other test playing nations so now it's based on percentage. Although 6 test series are locked for every one (3 home+3 away).

It looks like Mumbai are going to claim another Ranji Trophy. This is like the 87th-88th season of Ranji and they already claimed 41 trophies so far, ridiculous dominance.

Australia won the test series against New Zealand and it once again they proved themself as legend in cricket history. In 1st inngins, both team scored medium runs cause they both have best bolwers lol. For new Zealand, Matt Henry took 9 wickets total which was epic and Ben Sears got 4 wickets in 2nd inngins. Similarly Josh Hazlewood took 5 wickets in 1st inngins, Pat Cummins & Nathan Lyon took 3 & 4 wickets respectively. Tom Latham(73) ,Rachin Ravindra (82) let people know their presence in team. Similarly Marnus Labuschagne(90) did great in 1st inngins. While Australia was straggling at 34-4 runs or 80-5 runs, many people thought maybe Australia going to all out soon. But i shocked how Mitchell Marsh(80) and Alex Carey(98) handle the situation. Mid orde all-rounder and bowler just done the impossible while top order batsman were suffering to score. That's why Australia is called a legend.
