In first test match Sri Lanka All Out in scored 280 runs against Bangladesh in first innings of first day test match. At start of first session, Sri Lanka didn't perform well give 5 quick wickets in just low runs but the partnership of Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Mendis is match-changing for sri Lanka. Both played good innings especially Dhananjaya de Silva batting performance was outstanding scored a hundred and 102 runs and Kusal Mendis also scored an amazing score of 102 runs and helped his team reach 280 runs. Bangladesh current score is 32 runs in loss of 3 wickets in just 10 overs of the match.
At this time, Bangladesh had a very good chance to win but also Sri Lankan team did not come slow in the department of their bowlers where they had learned just a lesson which was just to take the wickets and nothing. Today we are seeing them play in a very better way and if this type of play continues then it will be great for Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh had to catch up 170 runs which I think they cannot chase without facing difficulties because at this time, their bowlers are on fire mood and they will not stop as we are seeing their bowling. It is the test match that’s why we don’t expect to see back-to-back wickets but in this match after some overs, they start to pick wickets and give as little a score as they can. The match seems to be in the balance at the moment and I think a lot will depend on how both teams bat in the 2nd innings.
There is no doubt that the Bangladeshi bowlers bowled very well in the first session yesterday. Sri Lanka's quick collapse was due to the excellent bowling of the Bangladeshi bowlers. However, Sri Lanka managed to collect 280 runs thanks to two brilliant centuries by Dhananjaya De Silva and Mendis.
As usual we saw poor batting from the Bangladeshi batsmen. None of the batsmen in the squad could bat responsibly and stay at the crease for long. I thought I would see better batting from Liton and Miraz. But Liton got out for 25 and Miraz scored only 11 runs.
Bangladesh has now collected 188 runs after losing 9 wickets. Bangladesh team is still behind by 92 runs. It does not seem that Bangladesh will be able to collect up to 200 runs.
Sri Lanka's three bowlers Fernando, Rajitah and Kumara bowled well. Each managed to pick up three wickets.
