If they successfully restricted England under 250 runs then their chances of winning the match is high but they needs to batting well in first inning of test match.

) then even 5th day pitch feels like a fresh track and when the sun beating hard, it turns into a batting track. Having said that, the match looks in balance atm.

At least 300+ must be collected by England's batsmen. Joe Root remains unbeaten with 49 runs. Root and Smith are now at the crease. Both are very talented batsmen. England will collect big if this pair can stay at the crease.

If the wickets continue to fall like this then surely this match will be very competitive as the Sri Lankan team lost the first match. So the Sri Lankan team has the biggest chance to come out of the losing shell in this match, if the Sri Lankan team can put in a good bowling performance to take their team forward.

Agreed! The Rawalpindi crowd was energetic in the past few test series, but in the 1st test match, the majority of the stands were empty. I think the Pakistan cricket team's bad performances after one another might have fueled this behaviour.

I wasn't referring to a recent home series per se (last 3-4 years, in the context of full house) but a decade back or so.

Even with the recent series against SENA countries Pindi hardly saw any significant attendance. Political turmoil is part of it but I won't go there, apart from that pitch did play a big part. I will blame the brain dead management, Rambo (Ramiz) mainly because he started this and ofc lousy performance from the Pak team didn't help their cause either. They failed to win any match in the last 8-9 test matches.

Before Sri Lanka, England cricket team played a Test series against West Indies where they won the series. Similarly, they are currently performing well in Test matches against Sri Lanka and have already taken the lead in the first match series. It is difficult to beat England on their home turf. If Sri Lanka takes the wicket of Joe Root early in the inning they will have a chance in this test match. The problem with the Sri Lankan team is that their top order has not performed in the past few games. Their middle order worked hard to get them some runs in the last few games. If England bowlers manage to take the wickets of the Sri Lankan de Silva, Chandimal, Mathews, and Kamindu Mendis in quick succession, things will get difficult for them. Kamindu Mendis is an excellent talent and performed in many pressure games. I expect a good game of cricket as I think Sri Lanka will improve their performance in this test match.

Another thing that we might be missing here is that the two grounds are different and therefore we can't expect a similar performance by both the teams. From England point of view they are playing at their home ground, so they know about the pitch conditions but the Sri Lanka team will have to adjust according to the pitch. This match will be played at Lords while the first test was hosted at Manchester.

Another interesting fact about this venue is that Sri Lanka hasn't lost any test matches against England here. They lost the test in 1991 and then won in 1998. After that these two nations met 5 times here and in all those matches the result was a draw. Interesting:

- If not wrong then it's the same pitch as the first match and given they finally added extra spinners in the squad gives you some indication about the pitch but again 1st test pitch was supposed to a seam friendly but it turned out to be highway so maybe having a balanced squad won't be bad choice.
