Two interesting test matches incoming. We have India vs England final test where India will try to acquire more points in the WTC table while England will simply try to save face and make it 3-2.

Just as India dominated their three matches and won, India will try their best to dominate and win the fifth match as well. If India can defeat the England team in the fifth test match i.e. the last test match of the test series then India will win this test series 4-1. It is good to say that India have already clinched the series against England on their home soil.

Quote
We also have Australia vs New Zealand where Aus will try to win and acquire more valuable WTC points while the Kiwis will try to draw the series. Excited!
Before the final Test match of the series between Australia and New Zealand on March 8 New Zealand have lost three T20I matches and one Test match against Australia. If New Zealand fail to win the second Test match against Australia as well they will be completely embarrassed as they have been whitewashed by Australia in the T20I series.

^^ Not a series decider so yeah but as far as WTC is concerned it's not a dead rubber per se because 12 points are on the table. From England's perspective, points won't matter much because they are already lagging but they would prefer 2-3 scoreline, instead of 1-4.

India needs the remaining 12 points because they have a tough tour of Australia.

Last match has lost its relevance. I am only interested in it because I want to see James Anderson getting to 700 test wickets. Being a pacer, getting there is extremely hard. At this point, he has 698 scalps to his name. In the second place we have Stuart Broad with 604 wickets, but he announced his retirement after the 2023 Ashes series. Glenn McGrath is at the third place, with 563 wickets. I am sure that in the next 10-15 years no one is going to break Anderson's record. It may remain there forever.

In the first test of New Zealand vs Australia match, team Australia defeated new Zealand with 172 runs but i still believe that both team played so well. Australia luckily did 383-10 in first innings & only 164-10 in second innings. Where New Zealand made 179-10 runs and 196-10 runs respectively in 1st and 2nd inning. Here the difference wasn't much in 2nd innings. Both team had best batsman as well as bowlers But it was the first inning where Australia was dominating new Zealand with good amount of runs and Cameron Green (174) was the person who was about to made double century alone. Otherwise look at the 2nd innings of Australia team. Early out of Cameron Green, couldn't help Australia to make more than 164 runs with rest of 10 players. Hope 2nd test will be more interesting

Australia won not because of there poor batting in second innings but because of there first innings batting and brilliant bowling in both innings. Just look at the batting of Cameron Green in first innings and Nathan Lyon bowling in both innings. These two players alone took Aussies to victory in first test. Apart from Cameron Green there is not noticeable batting performance from any Aussie batsmen in both innings. NZ bowling is good but not much affective against Cameron Green.
The Australian cricket team's batsmen have been better at bowling than they have been at batting. Cameron Greene's innings in the first innings was simply unbelievable. Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon played a big role as Australia bowled out New Zealand for 179 runs in their first innings. Nathan Lyon took four wickets in the first innings against New Zealand as well as contributed most to New Zealand's 196 all out in their second innings. Nathan Lyon took six wickets in New Zealand's second innings making him a total of 10 wickets in this Test match. Had Cameron Greene not played a brilliant innings Nathan Lyon might have been man of the match in this test match.

I wasn't expecting Australia to won this first test match of the series especially after worse performance in second innings of test match but things got automatically changed for them within blink of eye especially after they broke the important partnership of Mitchell and the young impactful Ravindra. I taught they still have Philips and plenty of batters to chase down the required target which wasn't too big in my mind but Australia magician lyon nailed it and take each and every important player who can make huge difference at that format especially like Williamson, Ravindra, Philips , etc. but I think NewZeland batters too lose his wickets too quickly due to mounting pressure and that's the Turing point of them otherwise they will have easy win. Anyway congratulations to Australia for being so successful and undefeated in his recent series

Vidharba playing on familiar territory so the skipper Sai Kishore and support staff could've done a better job of reading the pitch. I can understand Tamil Nadu's confusion because it's a away game for them but not for Vidharba.

Pitches are spicy and batters need patience to survive so no complaints from my side. Only following TN vs MUM because wanted to see Iyer but missed it, now will wait for the day 2 highlight package.

TN vs MUM is getting spicier and to be honest Mumbai added over 200 runs as lead that too scored by 8th, 9th and 10th wicket pair from 106/7 to 353/9, Lord played like God in this inning. Wink

TN was looking good in this season but their hope of winning Ranji after 35 years is getting thinner, any anti climax or MUM is going to the one.
Well, so far it has been one sided affair in TN vs MUM and there is a slight possibility of Mumbai not batting again unless Tamilnadu puts up some show, otherwise Mumbai will head for finals.

On the other hand, Vidarbha vs MP might turn into a thriller because there are no big differences in the scoreline.

Australia collected a huge first innings against New Zealand. Had the first innings collection been a little lower, it might have fought evenly in the Test match against Australia. Both the teams played two innings each and from watching their two innings I felt that the Australian batsmen and Australian bowlers fared better than the New Zealand batsmen and bowlers. Responsible batting by the Australian batsmen and all-round performance by the Australian all-rounders as well as some deliveries by the bowlers, Australia beat New Zealand to their heart's content.

Australians were able to collect 383 runs in first innings and were able to restrict New Zealand to 179 runs. New Zealand batting in both innings was awful, only 2 of there batsmen were able to score a fifty in 2 innings. If you see batting of Australians in second innings it was also a failure but they have collected enough runs in first innings to win the test. Cameron Green in batting and Nathan Lyon in bowling were simply too good for Australians.
Nathan Lyon bowled brilliantly and gave the New Zealand batsmen a tough test while Cameron Green played his best innings with the bat as the team needed these two Australian cricketers to secure a big win for Australia in the first Test match against New Zealand. In this complete series against Australia, why can't we find the New Zealanders of old who fought till the last ball and who never conceded defeat before losing. Every team goes through some bad times, maybe it's New Zealand's bad time, but this bad time won't last long, hopefully they will be back to their usual form soon.

Big win by Australian team in the first test match. I had a feeling while watching Rachin yesterday that he might go on but unfortunately he could not. Playing in their home ground if Newzealand are unable to win a test match then it shows how badly the team batted. It was a game when bowlers were in control but a test match is still considered a batters game. Just saw this on Twitter, people criticizing BCCI because Ranji semifinal is being played in some random ground In Mumbai, although it looks great, but BCCI can to do better.

https://twitter.com/BCCIdomestic/status/1763771503399870602

I also find that bit funny when Sai Kishore is asked about why he decided to bat first, did he look at pitch and he replies with yea but didn't understand it lol

Below is the summary of this match between Australia and New Zealand. Its very clear that the Australian first innings score of 383 runs was the match decider and after that we say that none of the team were able to cross even 200 runs in an innings.

If we analyse that innings of 383 runs, it was only Cameron Green who made 174 not out in that innings. Also in the 2nd innings, he was able to make important 34 runs. Also he got a wicket too, what an all-round performance by him.
However, the Australian team still need to analysis this game and focus on their mistakes. If we omit Cameron Green from the match then it was a pretty similar performance by both the teams.

New Zealand prepared a pitch that offered little assistance to the pacers, because they were afraid of the Aussie pace triad (Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins). But it backfired on them, as Green got to 174, and then Lyon destroyed the Kiwi batting lineup. It was a baffling tactic, given the fact that New Zealand has some of the best pace bowlers in the world (Southee, Henry, Jamison, Milne, Boult, Wagner.etc) and they are quite weak in spin bowling (it was Glenn Phillips who picked most wickets for them in this match).

Cameron Green is probably the only player who found it easy to score, and that also in the first innings. Because nobody found it easy to score on this pitch. Philips did score for New Zealand in the first innings. Rachin Ravindra was able to do something for New Zealand in their second innings. But other than that, both of the teams have not been able to score big. Nathan Lyon was incredible by the way.

When New Zealand bowled Australia out by few runs in the second innings we had some hope that New Zealand might win the match but just as Australia got all out in the second innings as quickly as New Zealand got all out in the second innings. Australia secured a big victory by 172 runs with one day in hand in this Test series due to New Zealand's quick all-out. Australia went a long way towards winning the series with a 172-run win in the first match of the two-match Test series. If Australia wins the second and final Test match, New Zealand will be whitewashed in Test series and T20I series against Australia but if New Zealand can win then they will be able to go back to level in Test series. Since the New Zealand series was whitewashed in the T20 series, New Zealand should come back in the second Test match and not be embarrassed by the whitewash.

I also actually had some hope when I saw Australia getting bold out for so cheap in their second innings.
But New Zealand was also able to do anything, to be honest. Except from the first match of the T20 series, New Zealand has been losing pretty badly against Australia in this whole series.

Let's see if New Zealand can win the second test match against Australia. And New Zealand better rethink the strategy they are going to apply for the second test. Because if they prepare another track like this, it might not be the best idea.

The first inning of Australia's batting is what carried Australia to the win. A 172 from Cameron Green on the first inning and he was again the highest scorer for Australia in the second inning and even took a wicket. It was his game. Nathan Lyon was the star bowler for Australia, he took 10 wickets in two innings and was very economical. Newzealand could not bat well on both inning.
I don't know if there are changed pitch condition for test matches or not but we are seeing most of the test in 2024 to be low scoring one and I don't remember one being draw. Most of them even finishing on the 4th day. New zealand need to work hard to save themselves from a whitewash.

The Australian team batted very well in the first innings compared to their second innings. Although the opener Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith got off to a good start in the first innings, both of them could not take the team very far. Steve Smith scored 31 runs and Usman Khawaja got out with 33 runs. Cameron Green batted brilliantly in the first innings and scored 174 runs unbeaten. In the second innings, the Australian team bowled very well and bowled New Zealand out for just 196 runs. Australia won the first test match by 172 runs.

The game is all about Cameron Green 174 runs. If NZ had picked up his wicket early in first innings then Aussies would have been bowled out under 200. Moreover poor batting from NZ in first innings was also one reason why NZ lost the game. Aussies were bowled out for just 164 runs in second innings but they had a big lead in first innings that's why they had no problem in winning the game. Last test will start on 8th March and NZ can now only draw this innings.

Big win by Australian team in the first test match. I had a feeling while watching Rachin yesterday that he might go on but unfortunately he could not. It was a game when bowlers were in control but a test match is still considered a batters game. Australia team defeated New Zealand in T20 match too New Zealand batsmen did not perform so well in test match if New Zealand batsmen could have batted well in the first test match against Australia then maybe they could not win the match against. But in the first test match, New Zealand could not do such a competitive performance against Australia. New Zealand was defeated by 172 runs against Australia in the first test match. New Zealand batsmen should practice better so that they can perform better against Australia.
Australia outstanding bowling performance in the second inning of the first test match bowled out New Zealand. The Player of the Match is Cameron Green from Australia for his All-around batting and bowling performance. They picked up 1 important wicket in the first inning by giving 16 runs. This amazing win credit goes to Green for his brilliant 174 runs batting in first inning and remain unbeaten and in second inning they scored 34 runs. I hope New Zealand will strongly bounce back in the second test match.

In the second innings against New Zealand, the Australian bowlers bowled very well due to which the Australian bowlers bowled out New Zealand for just 196 runs in the second innings. Australia's Nathan Lyon bowled brilliantly. Nathan Lyon took six wickets. Nathan Lyon was the hero of Australia's victory. As the day goes by the performance of Australian players is getting better and better every player is performing very well if one player is not playing well at times other player is playing well every player is batting and bowling well. Due to which the Australian team is getting more wins in every match. The way the Australian team is performing, it seems that their team will be stronger in the future.
