Big win by Australian team in the first test match. I had a feeling while watching Rachin yesterday that he might go on but unfortunately he could not. Playing in their home ground if Newzealand are unable to win a test match then it shows how badly the team batted. It was a game when bowlers were in control but a test match is still considered a batters game. Cameron Green's first innings 174 runs contribution was the only reason why Australian won the first test.
Australia team defeated New Zealand in T20 match too New Zealand batsmen did not perform so well in test match if New Zealand batsmen could have batted well in the first test match against Australia then maybe they could not win the match against. But in the first test match, New Zealand could not do such a competitive performance against Australia. New Zealand was defeated by 172 runs against Australia in the first test match. New Zealand batsmen should practice better so that they can perform better against Australia.
Australia outstanding bowling performance in the second inning of the first test match bowled out New Zealand. The Player of the Match is Cameron Green from Australia for his All-around batting and bowling performance. They picked up 1 important wicket in the first inning by giving 16 runs. This amazing win credit goes to Green for his brilliant 174 runs batting in first inning and remain unbeaten and in second inning they scored 34 runs. I hope New Zealand will strongly bounce back in the second test match.

The Australian team batted very well in the first innings compared to their second innings. Although the opener Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith got off to a good start in the first innings, both of them could not take the team very far. Steve Smith scored 31 runs and Usman Khawaja got out with 33 runs. Cameron Green batted brilliantly in the first innings and scored 174 runs unbeaten. In the second innings, the Australian team bowled very well and bowled New Zealand out for just 196 runs. Australia won the first test match by 172 runs.

Just saw this on Twitter, people criticizing BCCI because Ranji semifinal is being played in some random ground In Mumbai, although it looks great, but BCCI can to do better.

I also find that bit funny when Sai Kishore is asked about why he decided to bat first, did he look at pitch and he replies with yea but didn't understand it lol
Vidharba playing on familiar territory so the skipper Sai Kishore and support staff could've done a better job of reading the pitch. I can understand Tamil Nadu's confusion because it's a away game for them but not for Vidharba.

Pitches are spicy and batters need patience to survive so no complaints from my side. Only following TN vs MUM because wanted to see Iyer but missed it, now will wait for the day 2 highlight package.

Australia is top class team at one stage New Zealand is looking to win this test match easily but the bowling performance of the Australian team is outstanding, especially the spinner Nathan Lyon who picked up 6 wickets by just giving 65 runs in the second inning of match and All Out New Zealand team in just 196 runs. Australia easily win the first test match by a huge margin of 172 runs against New Zealand and lead the 2-match series by 1-0.

Cameron Green was man of the match and he rightly deserves that award. It won't be wrong to say that Aussies won this match because of Green unbeaten knock of 174 runs. In bowling, its once again Nathan Lyon  who picked up 10 wickets in both innings. NZ had good start of the match but they lost the path as the match progresses. NZ scored 179 in first innings followed by 196 in second innings and that's too low to win the match.

Placed a bet at around 1.42 on Australia during the middle of the test and won it pretty easily as expected thanks to the Kiwis losing by 150+ runs. Completely one-sided match all things considered.

Green and Lyon turned out to be the game-changers for the Aussies and either of them deserves the MOM award if you ask me.

Australia team is performing very well especially since the end of 2023 world cup Australia team is in a great rhythm they are winning one test series after another T20 series winning every one  They are getting great success in the match itself.

Once again we witnessed a match full of failures from the New Zealand team. Seeing the failed batting of the New Zealand team we thought that maybe New Zealand would lose this match but it was beyond imagination that they would be so far behind. Has anyone noticed one thing since Australia won the World Cup they have been consistently winning every series and no team has been able to compete well against them. New Zealand lost the T20I series against Australia at home before this Test match. Once again the defeat continues as the New Zealand team looks likely to lose the Test series to Australia.

New Zealand lost by a big margin. The team could not even collect 200 runs. Like the first innings, we saw bad batting by the New Zealand batsmen in the second innings as well.

I said the outcome of the match depends on the first session. New Zealand couldn't get off to a good start on the fourth day. New Zealand started the fourth day at 111/3. And the team lost two more wickets to add just 15 runs to the scoreboard. New Zealand lost their sixth wicket for 128 runs. Nathan Lyon single-handedly destroyed New Zealand's top order in the second innings. Nathan Lyon returned 5 of the first 7 batsmen to the dressing room.

New Zealand records against Australia the test match is not good. Total 60 matches played where Newzealand only won 8 macthes. NZ should be strong on their own home pitches but this test show that they couldn't judge the ball brilliantly. NZ make a very good comeback in the second inning by making all out Australia at 164 but in the first inning Cameron green alone scored 174 which is equal to NZ first inning all players combined score. Now NZ have chance to level the series but the way NZ played this test, cannot win. NZ have to change the strategy and put pressure from the start.
New Zealand needed 258 runs in the second innings. With a target of 258 runs to bat in the second innings, the New Zealand batsmen did not bat that well. Australia bowlers bowled very well. New Zealand batsmen were helpless due to their controlled bowling. New Zealand team was bowled out for just 196 runs in the second innings. They will never win a match against Australia if they don't have to perform well. Australia's Nathan Lyon picked up a crucial six wickets for New Zealand with some excellent bowling by the player. New Zealand were bowled out for just 196 runs in the second innings. Congratulations to Australia for winning the first Test match by beating New Zealand by a huge margin of 172 runs.
I thought New Zealand would lose the match but could not understand that they would lose by such a margin. Rachin Ravindra and Tom Blundell were dismissed in the same over by Nathan Lyon after adding just 15 runs on day four. Due to the fall of two wickets in the same over, the match went under the control of Australia. In the first session of the day, New Zealand lost all the wickets to score only 85 runs. Australia got a big victory by 174 runs. Nathan Lyon bowled brilliantly, taking six wickets alone. As the home team, New Zealand could not show this Test performance, New Zealand has a chance to turn around in the next Test. However, Australia went ahead in the two-match Test series 1-0.
When the New Zealand team had seven wickets in hand to collect 258 runs in the second innings, I might have thought that if the New Zealand batsmen could bat responsibly, they might come close to winning. Australia is performing very well Australia team is performing both batting and bowling very well due to which Australia is winning in all T20 test matches one after the other. If the New Zealand team wants to win against Australia, they must bat well. New Zealand team performed fairly well against Australia in the T20 format if they lost the match against Australia in the T20 but in comparison with the excellent performance of New Zealand we might have thought that the Will win against Australia. With New Zealand bowled out for just 196 runs, Australia cruised to a huge victory by 172 runs.

I agree with you. The pitch is not batting friendly at all. The pitch is likely to become completely bowling friendly on the fourth day. New Zealand's top order did not perform well on the third day. The team was able to collect 111 runs due to the responsible batting of Rachin Ravindra. But it is very difficult to predict how New Zealand will perform on the fourth day.
I would say the match will depend on the performance of the first session tomorrow. If New Zealand can bat well in the first session tomorrow and not lose any wickets, they have a small chance of victory. However, it is much more challenging to score 258 runs batting on the fourth day on this pitch. Australia team will win this match.
If NZ wants to win this match then they should focus on playing long innings irrespective of runs scored or not and at one point Aus will be tired and wait for things to happen that is the time for punch back but experienced Oz won't let the opponents to get to that level and playing like not losing a wicket in the first session is kind of impossible task to be honest.

As expected, NZ lost the match and the domination by Aussies over NZ in their home land continues. NZ should have played Santner on pitch like this and even Lyon mentioned that he is surprised to not see Santner when a part time bowler Glenn Phillips got 5fer for them. NZ should play the right combination of they really want to rewrite the history and should avoid run outs which is the most terrible thing to witness in test matches and that too when the core player in the batting unit has to walk back with such kind of dismissal.

In the end, the New Zealand team was defeated by a big margin. And such results were expected. Because it was not possible to collect 369 runs in the last innings on this pitch. If a miracle happened then maybe New Zealand team could have won.

Australia scored a massive 383 runs in the first innings. On the other hand, New Zealand collected only 179 runs. The team was behind by a huge margin of 204 runs. The team batted very badly. It is difficult to make a comeback after trailing by a big margin of 204 runs. However, New Zealand's bowlers did well in the second innings. And Australia lost all wickets to collect only 164 runs.

The New Zealand team could not bat well in the second innings. Apart from Rachin Ravindra, no other batsman can stay at the crease for long. Australian bowler Nathan Lyon took 4 wickets in the first innings and 6 wickets in the second innings.

After third day play I was expecting good performance from the New Zealand batting in last day of game, but Nathan Lyon give early break through to his team and take three wickets which give huge advantage to Australia now we have Scott Kuggeleijn and Daryl Mitchel on crease which are trying their best for having another good partnership and already score 32 runs but still its very long way to go for them with 209 runs and now just 4 wickets in hand.
Another good five wicket haul for the Nathan Lyon which is now having tally of wickets 526 hopefully he will be able to have few more while New Zealand is trying to achieve their target good fight between bat and bowl.

Edit: Cameron Green after having amazing first inning big hundred takes 7th wicket with Scott Kuggeleijn catch out mean end for the New Zealand in this game.

It's true they have couple of wickets in hand and just required 243 target to win this important test match of the series and currently they have decent partnership going on which can easily get that target later some reaming  runs will be cut down by rest of the player without getting into any trouble. I think till Ravindra undefeated along side with Mitchell they will make huge difference as they still have one day to settle down things.
I taught at second innings Australian will make some extra runs to make things more interesting as currently NewZeland are going with one of thier worst form but surprisingly Phillips and some other bowler took each and important wickets and diver dominance toward them.

Edited:
NewZeland lose wickets of Ravindra too and now things are going more and more worse for them if they unable to build another long decent partnership because without that they will definitely under huge pressure.

New Zealand vs Australia, 2nd innings of 1st test match needs some more time to finish. Australia scored brilliantly 383 runs in 1st innings. But all credits should goes to Cameron Green who made 174 runs from 275 bowl alone. And rest of players didn't Perform enough for mention. Cause they did only 164-10 runs in 2nd innings. Besides Matt Henry got 5 wickets in 1st innings from nz. And Nathan Lyon got 4 wickets in 1st innings in 1st inning. And when its come to nz, they did poor score 179 runs only in 1st inning. And this time till now they managed 111−3 and still New Zealand need 258 runs to win.. huge runs need. This gonna be so hard
