It was a great achievement for the youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal. While the batting of other player in Indian team were not impressive. You are right because India's top order batsmen did not bat that well if Jaiswal could not have scored 202 runs in the first innings of India's second test then India would never have given England a lead of 396 runs. I thought maybe India could score 500 runs in this match but they failed to do that as most of their batsmen did not play well except Jaiswal who batted well. Jaiswal gave an impeccable batting performance in this match as he single-handedly scored 209 runs which was the highest run by any Indian batsman in this match. In this match India batted first and scored 396 runs for 10 wickets.

Now the England team came out to bat and they scored 34 runs without losing any wicket in 7 overs which is a good start.They are currently scoring runs at 4.86 per over. Indian bowlers will have to bowl very well in this match as this match is very important for India as they have already lost the first test match.

Big applause for Jaiswal for scoring his maiden double century, he is just 22 years old and can become vital asset for Indian team if he maintain his performance. James Anderton, despite 41 years old is still bowling well and got three wickets. Shoaib Bashir who is playing his first test also got 3 wickets. At last he was able gets his name permanently written in the cricket history books. A well deserved double century which requires a lot of hard work and patience. I still remember a time when he was begging on mainstream media asking hitman to give him a chance in the national team. After his selection he has been unstoppable.

After 8 wickets gone India are still not over the 400 runs mark. They still would need 5 more runs to reach to 400 runs. A target such big is can be defended by the Indian bowlers.
