The youngster, Yashasvi Jaiswal is holding the rudder of Indian team alone where the other batters performance was below average. I think Indian will have advantages in this test match for his good batting performance. Gill performance is average in my opinion. Yashasvi Jaiswal's brilliant innings has seen India post 336 for 6 so far in the first innings of the second Test. Yashasvi Jaiswal stands like a wall at one end of the wicket and single-handedly tries to lead the entire India team forward. In the first test match we saw that India batted brilliantly in the first innings but in the second innings they batted opposite to the first innings due to which the host India failed to win the first test despite creating a chance to win. The two batsmen who are still at the wicket are capable of batting well and if this partnership is a bit bigger India's score will be around 450. But if India lose wickets in the beginning then it will be difficult for them to score 400 runs because the batting skills of those who will bat later are not very good. There is another test match js going on between Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan. It started today, in Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo. SL opt bowl and Afg was sent for bat. And Ibrahim Zadran out on 2nd bowl with zero. And then the main match was start. Rahmat Shah did 91 runs but unfortunately he out by catch. Afghanistan total scored 198 runs and its a very low score for test format. Vishwa Fernando got 4 wickets and Fernando got 3 wickets. SL openers Dimuth Karunaratne and nishan Madushka doing well and they made 80 runs as partnership. It looks good startup for SL and if they can keep continue batting with patient then its possible to come a good amount of runs from their bat

Still, I don't understand why team management added one extra bowler when one of your premium all-rounder is not available to play. Gill probably has one more inning to bring his form, or he will be dropped and need to find his spot again with other performances.
Everybody had a start but none of them converted which is a worrying sign and this is what will happen when we have an inexperienced team.
At the time of tea, India were in really strong position but losing three wickets in the session 3 changed the way.
Anyway, we are just 1 wicket away and we are royally fucked. I hope Ash Anna brings his A game with the bat today and gives some support to Jaiswal.
Gill looked good to me, couldn't make it big. On note, every batter seemed to have trouble with Anderson, Gill got one free life and next out.
IMO Looking good is not enough at this level when you are only scoring a couple of extra runs from your career average.

Apart from Rahmat Shah, none of the other Afghan batsmen could adjust themselves to the test format and with the conditions at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. Other batsmen simply didn't had the patience and were playing in T20/ODI style. And it failed against the experienced Lankan attack which was spearheaded by Asitha Fernando and Vishwa Fernando. And in return, Afghan bowlers failed to get any breakthroughs in the first day, as both Nishan Madushka and Dimuth Karunaratne dug in and played in an organized manner.

First test between Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan which is currently playing at Colombo SSC after winning toss Sri Lanka bowling first and having good success with just Rahmat Shah done some resistance and have 91 runs which is impressive from him against these Sri Lankan spinners which are doing good job and Fernando and Jayasuriya having 6 wickets between them after A Fernando strike in first over of the match and took Ibrahm Zardan.
Most chances we will have around 200 from the Afghanistan but still this could be not enough for them to avoid big defeat because they have no quality bowlers for this test match as well which is surely going to be big problem for them now we have 30 overs left in today's play and things are looking for the early end of this test match.

The first day was the match Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka tour match and at the end of the day Sri Lankan trial by 118 runs but this was a very good day for Sri Lanka because in this they all out the team Afghanistan by under 200 runs and they also made 80 runs while they lost zero wickets and maybe they can chase it without losing any wicket, and they didn't play it like a test, they want to be playing like a one day that's why they made 80 runs in 14 overs and tomorrow they make more runs than target and then they declare the innings or all out.
Looking at the Afghanistan innings, the opener Rahmat Shah made 91 runs but he was not able to complete his century. Ok this was acceptable but then none of the other players were able to score any runs and the whole team was out making 198 runs. With this performance of Afghanistan batting and they also unable to take any wickets in the srilankan team, i see an easy win for the Sri Lanka team in this test match at Colombo.

On Pujara, it's subjective but if he were to come back he should come in place of Iyer.
Some might say that India has put 300+ runs on the board and looking okay but I believe India are in big trouble overall be it this test match or test series. Considering the injuries and Virat's unavailability and top of that every top order batter decided to go out of form in the same series. If we leave Jaiswal who was brilliant, it was a pathetic day for the Indian batters IMO.
Yes, Jaiswal is sole saviour in this inning, without him India would probably be around 200 at end of day and under huge trouble for second inning. Now, I hope Ashwin and tail batters to come can save their wickets at least until Jaiswal is on crease and not throw it away like Axar and Bharat did.

The 2nd test match between India vs England is started And the 1st day has ended up with team india batting round and for last update, india have made 336 runs with 6 wickets. This score may sound like indian batsman were perform so well but in reality, they didn't. Most of batsman were out with scoring 27 to 32 run in avarage. Actually this is 22 years old youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal who contributed to score 179 run alone and still not out for day 1. Jaiswal really played so well in recent matches and it is wise to select him for indian squad. And I'll be excited to see him yesterday if he can cross double century or not. In the previous match too we thought there was no chance of England winning. But in the end England team was able to win the match. India lost due to bad batting in the second innings.
India started today's match well. Opener Jaiswal scored a massive 179 runs and India ended the day with 336 runs. There is no doubt that Indian batsmen have played very well. But I would say the chances of India's victory are still low. In the first innings of the first match, the Indian players lost despite a brilliant performance. And so if India cannot play well even in the second innings of this match, then they will be defeated.
We just have one day of play and based on that we can't say who has chances of winning the game. Let English team also bat then we will be in better position to tell who has more chances of winning the game. Right now Indians are doing good because of Jaiswal 179 and he is still on the crease. other then Jaiswal there is not even a half century from any Indian batsmen. Gill has been given another chance and he once again failed to play a long test innings.

Today's 2nd Test match of India vs England team has already started. India team has come to bat now. They scored 163 runs in 47 overs with the loss of 2 wickets. Team India batsman Rohit Sharma did not perform well in batting. Rohit was dismissed for 14 runs in 41 balls. Sharma. Shubman Gill got out with 34 runs off 46 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 93 runs off 146 balls. Shreyas Iyer scored 22 runs off 49 balls. If England team's bowling line can perform well today, India team batsmen will be under a lot of pressure.

Today's match is their eighth match in the Afghanistan Test format. Test match are endurance games, Afghanistan need to gain more experience. When Afghanistan crossed the team hundred I thought Afghanistan would score 250+. Except Rahmat Shah's 91 runs, no batsman could stay on the pitch for long. Sri Lanka's fast bowlers bowled well, with seven wickets coming against Afghanistan. Sri Lanka finished the first day's play with 80 runs for no wicket in the first innings. I don't think the Afghanistan bowlers can do much on the second day either, almost all the bowlers are just starting their international career. I think Sri Lanka will take a big lead tomorrow.
With time Afghanistan will learn more about how to handle the test format. They are new to this format and that's why they can be given leverage of not performing well in this format.
When Afghanistan score was 100 they have lost just 2 wickets and it was expected that they will give some decent target. But wickets keep falling once Afghanistan score crossed 100.
At the end of day 1 play, Sri Lanka trail by 118 runs and they still have whole team to bat. To me this match has slipped away from Afghanistan and they need some extraordinary bowling tomorrow to made a come back in the game.

336 runs are not good on a wicket which is not favouring the bowlers. Indian batter got out because of their fault and not because the wicket was bad. Only Jaiswal was the one who was still teasing the British and scoring runs. All other Indians got out before they could even reach 40 runs. It is alarming as these guys are known to have played multiple international tournaments. Struggling to score runs on home ground is not a good sign as they are either out of form or busy partying in the Bollywood circle. BTW, stokes being a captain has only lost 4 test games in 20 matches that he captained the team, he does not want to lose any game but Rohit Baba is still not out of his World Cup loss.
I am amazed by the batting performance of Jaiswal in the second Test match between India and England. He is ruling the British alone for India. Among the few players playing in the Indian team i.e. the second Test match, I think Jaiswal is young and inexperienced but he is an experienced batsman as his batting performance shows. Jaiswal is currently unbeaten on 179 runs and may soon complete his double century. India's 336 down by six wickets leaves them with just four wickets in hand and if they play well, India might put up a strong score against England. legendary
