South Africa need 262 more runs to win the test match but they are 2 wickets down at the moment with 43 on the board. I want to place the bet on this match and i fancy placing my bet on a draw and hope there is rain on the last day of the match.
If there is no rain, then both teams would have equal chances of winning, however, India might have a slight advantage.

Indian batting failed miserably in the second innings, not even a single one scored 50. India manage to give target of 305 to south africa, thanks to there 130 runs lead. With three down and 230 more runs required, I would say better place bet on India as they have better chances of winning the game.

To win, South Africa needs to reach a challenging total. India may hold a slight advantage. With two wickets down, will the fast bowlers take early wickets? Otherwise, the match ends in a draw if rain falls on the fifth day. Although there's no reason to be surprised if India doesn't win the test, it's now the bowlers' turn to perform well.

SA vs IND game might turn into good contest and some sort of mental gymnastic on declaration decision, only because of Rain forecast.

Kohli & co need to thread carefully about how long they want to bat or what target they want to set for Proteas. Pitch also looking dangerous for the batters so 250 seems defendable total but considering Bumrah's new injury, they should target close to 300 runs.

Edit

Lead is now 241 runs and they are 6 down.

Edit

SA need 304 runs to win.

In England there are almost all kinds of sports including football and rugby. At the same time they also participated in the Olympics and won many medals. Football is more popular in England than cricket. The ECB should take steps to increase the popularity of cricket. Otherwise, they will not be able to find talented and experienced players for the national team after a while.

That's not the case in England. Developed countries don't only focus on one sport only. See case of Australia they play every sport like football, rugby and have good presence at Olympics. Cricket is major sports in under developed countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri lanka.

Meanwhile 3rd test of Ashes has completely taken over discussion here and no one talking about India/SA test match. Match is in interesting phase with major chances of India winning the game.

Unbelievable scenes unfolding at the MCG. England blown away by Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc for 68, as they slip to an innings defeat. Australia is up by 3-0 in Ashes, and with every passing day a 5-0 whitewash looks likely. Had anyone even considered this possibility before the start of the series? I have followed most of the posts in this thread, and a lot of users actually predicted 5-0 in England's favor. And today morning they got bowled out for a two digit total, and that too without key bowlers in the Australian playing XI (Hazlewood, Richardson.etc).

This is a nightmare for the England team and fans. Something is seriously gone wrong in their team. No one would have expected that England will close the year on such miserable performance. They need to work out on something or make big changes in the team to be able to show some performance in the remaining last two test matches.

How will you explain the bowling by Scott Boland. He took 6 wickets in just 4 overs and gave only seven runs. I wonder how many records have broken by this bowling spell from Scott Boland ?
Australian looking in full form at the moment and their target should be to whitewash the series.

I won't give him all the credit. You cannot forget the English batting lineup, they have been struggling from the beginning of this series. Nothing new though in the past to they have proved that they cannot play in any kind of pitches nor can face new bowlers. That being said I think this series will be a whitewash.

It was not a simple inning lose but humiliation. This current England team sucks on different level and hitting new low every time they come to bat.
This i a new level of humiliation and i am expecting major changes in the team as this team sucks in the longer format, when i woke up today, i logged into my subscription app to watch the match live and i could not see them and i thought weather has stopped play and then when i saw one the notifications i came to know that England is all out for double digits Cheesy.

After playing through such dominance in the T20 World Cup, I find it difficult to accept such a poor performance. They lost by an innings and 14 runs against Australia. England are not a weak team that will lose by an innings. Players should be diligent. Not only playing well in T20 format, ODI and Test formats should be treated with equal importance. I have forgotten when England finally suffered such a humiliating defeat.
We are watching the similar kind of result like The Ashes of 2017-18. During that time Australia won, the first test by 10 wickets, the second test by 120 runs and the third test by an innings & 41 runs. And now they have won the first test by 9 wickets, the second test by 275 runs and the third test by an innings & 14 runs. England is a strong team but the players are having their worst form now. I think they will loss the next two test matches of this series too.

Other thing is now mostly local English boys have no interest in cricket they are mostly enjoying Soccer and Rugby but ECB is not encouraging them for having some better future here and many players from commonwealth countries taking some good advantage but hey are hesitating to bring them in main pipeline, so they require some good changes with open mind surely this can change but will take good time.

Recently I was reading few sporting sites and blogs sadly these all showing significantly fall in cricket popularity from local kids and youths even many good cricketers have not happy with this all because they are feeling this could be worst for them as their children are also not interested, and they are enjoying with some sports mostly love Rugby and Soccer with Golf and Tennis is also having some good market in last few years but cricket which was completely under their control now completely out from popular sports list. Recently they have 100 Leagues which bring some good interest, but test is going to be dead in the next few years.

I feel like this is their karma for their unfair World Cup win sometime back. Luck sided with them back then, but it isn't with them anymore clearly. England is still a powerful team in ODIs and T-20s, but they suck in tests currently.

Australia continues to rise back up across all formats. Betting on Australia in this series : Easy money!
Few years back they were one off best domestic cricketing system, but recently they are completely failure it's all about timely changes which they completely fail to achieve because of money greediness. Their system is now badly down and in near future it could be down, so they need some good things like Australia and concentrate on quality rather than quantity.

Having started the day at 31/4, England ended the day at 68. I wonder what England will be like after Anderson retires. He is still their best bowler at 39. The only exciting English bowler I've seen is Jofra Archer. A problem in bowling can't arise where lead is just 82. England loses by an innings. Australia makes a brutal attack. With the way the Aussies are dominating, the ashes will be won 5-0. England really needs to improve.

In one match after another, the English players are showing surprise by showing consistently poor performance. Poor performance and defeat in the first Test.
But played well in the second inning. In the second Test, they again performed poorly. Although the batsmen collected a lot in the first innings of the third Test,
England were not in a bad position at the end of the first innings with the help of bowlers. However, in the second innings, they lost all their wickets by only 68 runs, surprising everyone again.
I don't know what they will do in the fourth Test. However, even if they play well, they will definitely lose. Because, Australian players are all in the form now.

I wasn't watching because I'm really going through a lot of busy schedules these days. After watching your reply, I just checked and it seems quite similar to the first test of the 1996-97 test series in South Africa where Africa win the match by 328 runs. Maybe revenge? None of the Indian batsmen were able to score in two innings though Bavuma did it today for Africa.

It was not a simple inning lose but humiliation. This current England team sucks on different level and hitting new low every time they come to bat.

They can't bat bat a single session on spin track when playing in India.
They can't survive 60 overs when playing in England against Kiwis and Indians.
They can't even bat on Aus's bouncy tracks.

This is second time a debutant ripped their complete batting line up. First it was Axar Patel and now Scott Boland.

Would say ignorance, mediocrity and poor leadership played a major role. I saw majority of their statements (Captain-Coach). Every series they lost in recent time, they downplayed every defeat and refused to make any changes or improvements by saying that its a preparation for the ashes. What they end up with their so called preparations in last 2 years?

4 seam bowling attack with similar style, led by 39 yo old. Virtually no spinner. No openers, no middle order. Everytime someone failed miserably they replaced him, only to bring him back again. More like dhandiya competition between Roy-Crawley-Burns-Bairstow-Buttler-Leach-Bess-Pope-Lawrence. Last 2 are (Pope-Lawrence) excellent player tho but one of em doesn't get much chance along with WK Ben foakes.

There is nothing to say specific, because in the same pitch Australia is playing. As it is home ground for Australia, we can say it has got an advantage. However the climatic conditions between Australia and England is almost the same. If any of the Asian team is playing, then they'll find difficulty. England need to work on different things, if this continues further they'll fall even against the small teams.

Meanwhile there is another test going on between South Africa and India, India bowled very well in there first inning. South Africa top 4 players are gone by just scoring 32 runs. Second day was washed out by rain but still game is very much on India side. If India bowl out South Africa today with lead of 100 runs they have bright chance of winning this test.
