I think he's going to be end up all time great WK batsman in the world along with Gilly. Sundar is also good find for India. He's just 21 yo so i hope that he focus on his bowling too. India need more Bowling all rounders, who can bat down the order.
Comparing Pant with Gilly? Seriously? Pant is performing well recently, but he is a bad wicketkeeper and a decent batsman in my opinion.

I like the way he shouts though and is very energetic, but he has a long, long way to go in order to be compared with legends like MSD, Gilly etc across all formats.
Considering the age factor still he is going to get lot of experience which may bring him like of the greatest WK batsman of all time but time will tell us.As cricket evolves people are concentrating more on t20 but they also need to be strong with the basics to become on of the great batsman which is still missing from Pant but surely he will learn it.

It feels like Pant and the lower order batsmen are the top order batsman these days. Australian players must be empathetic towards the English players since they faced similar issues in their recent series against India.

Okay ladies.... 125-150 runs lead is back on the card, Lead is already touching 90

Pant and Sunder again saved a day for India. This 113 runs partnership for 7th wicket could decide a match.

Tbh not surprised by Pant's success in the Test cricket as i'm already a big fan since his under 19s days. The way he's playing and considering he's just 23 yo. Pant has now 3 tons under his belt but he needs to convert his 90s to 100s as he already missed 4 centuries. Tons matter in the Test cricket.

Against Australia got out on 97, 91

England once again ruining the advantage they had by picking up the top order wickets and the tail end players are making a mockery which was evidently frustrating the Australian players and now it is continuing with England, Pant has become a main stay in the Test squad with his unorthodox performance once again scoring a century during a difficult period and pulling the team to a safe position and Sundar playing a mature innings after a couple of ducks in his last two innings.
India lost 6 wickets for 148 runs, I went to sleep after watching this score. I woke up and checked the scoreboard and I was completely surprised. India scored 294 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The England bowler at the start of the day showed hope of winning that match. Rishab Pant has completely demolished it. I think India will win this match as usual.

Once again the lower order rescues India. They were 146/6 at one point and I thought that England may manage to take the lead. But the partnership between Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar added 113 runs, and Sundar is still out there. Pathetic performance from both the England spinners. Both of them are unable to trouble the batsmen and this forced Joe Root to bring himself to bowl (without much use). Apart from James Anderson, all the other England bowlers were disappointing.
That is the beauty of test cricket, eat more balls as much as you can then you can bat at any pitch comfortably. Pant and Sundar proved it today because they were calm and playing long innings which took them to lead and India is now in great advantage, another 50 runs on the lead surely put pressure on English batsmen on their second innings as well.

It is surprising to see Indians struggling against the pace of Anderson and Stokes, while playing very comfortably against the spin of Bess and Leach. Anderson has conceded just 11 runs from his 14 overs and he has picked up 2 wickets. Stokes got the wicket of Kohli. On the other hand, the England spinners conceded 58 runs from their 17 overs, and got just 1 wicket.
It shows that bowlers who keep the tight line and length will get their wickets for sure. In 3rd test they missed to do that but now they are giving their best to make a comeback and tie the series atleast. Disappointed to see Kohli failed again and for a duck which is heart breaking moment for every Indian cricket fans.

Pant and Sundar is in the crease, hope they will take the innings as long as they can, so they can think about getting any runs as lead.
The middle order has again failed to deliver in this match. Look at Kohli he is out for a duck. Rahane and Pujara have been struggling although they did manage to score few runs. Ashwin can play and I hope he stays there till the end of this day. 156/6 I am seeing a big opportunity created by the Indian bowlers getting destroyed by the Indian batsmen.

I wasn't expecting big things from Rahane as he's only Indian batsman who has a history of struggle in India but Pujara and Kohli continuous failure is bit surprising here i guess you have to give credit to English bowlers.
Was surprised to see Kohli getting out for a duck. His form continues to go down the drain these days. Rohit is the only top order batsman performing consistently while Pant, Ashwin and Sundar are the consistent middle and lower order batsmen recently.
Don't know what's happening with the Kohli but he got out on excellent delivery today, Rohit as well. All credit goes to Ben Stokes.

I still think that India is capable of taking atleast 50 runs lead, only because Pant is there. He needs few good overs and India might cross the line but first he should try to get close to England's total, Sundar and Axar need to make 2 digits score as well.

All 2 session belongs to England.

How bad Indian middle order (Pujra-Kohli-Rahane) performing in this series?
The middle order is struggling in this series as well as in the last series against Australia, the tail end players put a good fight in Australia and Rahane did not play that well in the final two matches even though his captaincy was great.

Indian fans should forget about 100+ lead, would consider them lucky if it happens. India's batting line up is deep but i won't rule out another collapse either.
The fast bowlers are picking the wickets for England as James Anderson and Ben Stokes picked couple of wickets each and the fast bowlers are getting good bounce in this wicket which is amazing to see and the match is really tight as India is still trailing by 70 runs and the tail end players need to play well to safe guard the team.

India could end up giving them a lead of 10-20 runs or could even trail by 10-20 runs at this stage. Disappointing performance by several Indian batsmen.

Most of the times, it was the lower order batsmen who rescued them. Ravichandran Ashwin and Washington Sundar added crucial runs during difficult situations, while the top order batsmen such as Rahane and Pujara didn't lived up to their expectation so far in this series. When was the last time that Pujara scored a century? Rahane has scored 85 runs so far, from 5 innings.

Don't want to jinx anything but when game started i waged on 50s for both Rohit and Pant, let's see what happens.  Lips sealed

The morale of the England players is completely shattered. Moreover, they are not able to adapt to the environment and the pitch of India. We have never seen such a terrible performance of England before. I doubt if they will win the last Test either. Although England lost all their wickets for just 205 runs, I think they are able to win this match. They have the ability to win this match.
England is struggling with the bat but now they have picked two early wickets in the morning and Virat Kohli is gone for a duck and if England could pick the wicket of Rohit Sharma then India will be in the back foot if not Rohit Sharma have the capability of changing the match single handedly.

James Anderson is bowling a dream spell with 8 maidens and the pitch looks different from the last match as it is helping the fast bowlers as well.

What is going on? India in some sort of trouble, after a decent start yesterday. They are now struggling at 41/3. Rohit Sharma is still there, but he is also not looking in good form. Rohit has so far made 22 runs from 85 balls. I haven't seen him batting with such a subdued manner for a long long time. Ben Stokes is really bowling well, which is surprising. Because he hardly bowls nowadays and concentrate more on batting.

Except for the first match England did not show any chance of a fighting spirit and India looked dominating and India is repeating their performance they showcased against Australia in the last series, failing miserably in the first match so that everyone doubts whether they can be competitive in the series and then produce incredible cricket for the rest of the series Cheesy.

I guess their defeat in the second match was the turning point. After their win in the first match, the morale within the England team was high. But the crushing defeat that followed in the second match left a lot of despair and doom. Their selection policies were also not up to the mark. They were picking 3-4 pacers in the playing XI, even after knowing that spinners will be bowling the vast majority of the overs.

The way England team has been playing this match, it shows they have no idea what they need to do against India. I too agree after their morale is down and players are not so agressive on the field. Indian batsmen are playing well and both pujara and rohit should stick to the wicket.
