Well Bhai, this is practically the same Indian team as last year when they defeated Australia in their own backyard (except Prithvi). Batting first at this pitch was tough but i didn't expect India to get out under 200, Some poor cricket from Mayank, Rahane and Pant because these 3 batsmen did all the hard work but failed to convert their inning and got out on very average deliveries including 1 run out. Having said that I feel that Indian batsmen going to perform much better in the second inning because as game proceed its becoming batsmen friendly wicket.
Hmm. I was talking about the team which comprised of players like Rohit, Rahul, Dhawan etc actually. Mayank is the only decent test player among the newbies at present in my opinion. You are right about the manner in which they threw away their wickets though.
My only concern is Bumrah, he looking rusty after long break and he's going wicketless and taking 20 wickets is key if any team wants to win the Test match. I really hope he gets some wicket tomorrow as lead already crossed 50 runs if kiwis managed to get 100+ lead then its no brainier that India is in big trouble.
I share similar concerns. Bumrah is still economical, but he is not taking many wickets. Ishant was splendid along with Ashwin. Also, what is up with Indian bowlers not being able to remove the NZ tail-enders quickly these days?
