Zug, 22 February 2018 - The Tezos Foundation has unanimously appointed Ryan Jesperson and Michel Mauny to the Board. The two new members will replace Johann Gevers and Diego Olivier Fernandez Pons, who decided to voluntarily step down to optimally support the Foundation in the advancement of its mission.

The two new members of the Board will join Lars Haussmann, who was appointed to the Board on 31 January 2018. This new Board looks forward to expanding the number of board members in the near future. Ryan Jesperson will replace Johann Gevers as President. He plans to relocate with his family to Zug, Switzerland. In addition, he looks forward to assisting the Crypto Valley ecosystem and helping to further establish Switzerland as a center of blockchain technology and innovation.

With the appointment of the two new members to the Board, the Foundation is preparing itself to assist in the timely launch of the Tezos network.

Ryan Jesperson, who became a leading figure in the Tezos community in recent months, is looking forward to joining the Board at this important time for the Tezos project. «To serve the best interests of the Tezos Project, Johann Gevers and Diego Olivier Fernandez Pons have voluntarily offered to resign from the Foundation Board. They are committed to the success of the Tezos project and will continue to support its development towards a bright future. We thank both of them for their service.»

Ryan Jesperson and Michel Mauny, who will join Lars Haussmann as new members to the Board, are both accomplished professionals. Ryan Jesperson is a dedicated member of the Tezos community. Most recently he was the Chief Operating Officer at Divvy, a FinTech company. He received a BS degree, cum laude, from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Prior to his work at Divvy, he helped launch the Self-Reliance Services initiative of the LDS Church and was an executive, turnaround specialist and tech entrepreneur in the healthcare industry.

Michel Mauny is a senior researcher at Inria (Paris, France). His scientific interests are mainly in the field of programming languages: design, implementation, semantics, static analysis and type systems. After his PhD at Paris-Diderot University, he joined Inria in 1985 and worked on programming languages, in the research group that designed and developed the Coq proof assistant and the OCaml programming language. From 1989 to 2005 he led the research team that developed OCaml.

As I understand, we won't be getting coins yet until main-net launch? Just tokens?

First, you need to be clear with coins or tokens. Not necessarily if they plan to send all the coins to the investors and launch the mainnet after this.Boscoin has done this way and not sure if Tezos too could follow the same.

I think we will get the tokens when the mainnet will be launched, not a token which should be changed later to another. I think main net was planned to be launched long time ago.

Regular users will likely want to dump immediately after listing to an exchange, and avoid this token in the future.
Regular users, what are those? Wink

Well, I think it's the opposite. There is so much potential and limited risk. People throw their money at real shitcoins without spending a single thought on the background. So yes, this is the opportunity to get in. And if it fails, heck, buy another shitcoin Smiley

The only thing that bothers me is HitBTC as exchange. I would like to get the XTZ out of there, but to where?

Why does HitBTC bother you? There is just IOU market and I don't think it means anything important.
Nobody knows(except some bunch of people) Tezos will be listed after the launch but I believe many exchanges will try to get benefit of listing Tezos.

HitBTC bothers me too, since they have DEPOSIT fees on many coins (partly very high) I didn't use it anymore if I have another possibility. That's just outrageous.

I'm not fan of HitBTC either but I'm tying to say I don't think it'll have affective volume on Tezos.

here we go, the lunch is going to be in the next few weeks.
i have been waiting for this update for almost a year, and now my dreams came true  Grin

Well, your risk assessment is quite different than mine.
For me Tezos is in risk of endless war for money. At the time of their ICO BTC was at less than 3k USD, and now it's 11k, so instead of $250M there's now over $900M at stake, and even more incentives for such a nice piece of cake  Grin
For start we will be on 10 ROI (BTC, not USD) so number 6 on marketcap.
No. 3/4 we will see in 6months

That would be great for the holders, and it will be interesting to watch how the market is going to evaluate all of it.

HITBC is just selling XTZ futures. I don't think it will be by any means main or even secondary exchange. Bittrex recently started listing new coins again. I'm  sure its appealing for most exchanges to list Tezos cause it will draw more users and guaranteed high volume.

I am just looking for who is going to be the first to dump after the tokens are released for transfer and maybe if hitbtc accepts new deposit or still keeps in IOU mode. This would show the level of people who are pissed with the project.

The wait is very exciting. I hope it's worth the wait. We do not hurt BTC forklists.
