"altcoin" boom will not continue at this pace forever.
Ethereum foundation has currently close to $90 mil to work with and they are furiously expanding their team.
zcash has close to $20mil allocated to dev already and this number will most likely increase because 20% of mining goes to dev.
Once dev momentum accelerates in both ethereum and zcash, it would be difficult to compete.

Therefore, delaying raising money is NOT in your favor.
I am not sure what's up with the delay, but you have to do it (crowdsale) soon or fall behind.

We're keeping our nose to the grindstone. We'll have an ANN on BT as soon as we're ready to announce our ICO.

What's up with long silence here and elsewhere.
Is anything happening?
You cannot have certain dates mentioned, then passed without a comment.
BTW, it is not even early Q2 anymore...

Hi all, I'm heading the Tezos project. A few things about the project

 - We have real on-chain decentralized governance, i.e. we can upgrade the entire protocol without hard forks.
 - We support smart-contracts with a functional, statically typed language which we design specifically for formal verification. We presented it recently at the Stanford blockchain conference and the video should be online soon.
 - We're starting with a delegated proof-of-stake consensus model
 - We are headed for a crowdsale around late Q1, early Q2 2017.

We've been fairly discreet for the past few years quietly building our technology (our source code is available on Github). We did not want to go to a crowdsale without an actual working product. We're not a fork of any project, we built the entire thing from scratch in OCaml.

I'd be happy to answer questions about the project!

P.S. we're also looking to contract with translators and community manager.
Which is the video in the Stanford block?
I did not seem to find him.

This project is only prepared for big whales! Angry
Project is good, there will be a lot of big whales; project is not good, only some shrimp. Grin
Yes, I know this project is very good, but for us, it does not have any profit to invest!

I don't see any official announcement re their crowdsale; whatever is discussed in private (maybe on slack) is NOT official.
Their slack is not private, anybody can join and the main founders have repeatedly stated that there is no cap both in the slack and also elsewhere.
See this post of theirs on their tumblr: https://tezos.tumblr.com/post/159211476218/why-tezos-crowdsale-no-cap
FYI their slackbot is set up to automatically point you to this if you ask about the cap in slack.

It's not going to get much more official than that until the crowdsale actually launches.

why not say so on the official company web page?
1. when is ICO/ITO?
2. what are the conditions?
3. why nothing is updated since feb 2017?

why should i sign for a multitude of sites that i don't intend to use (slack and tumblr) to gather this info?
...and regarding claim that founders are not marketers:this very well may be, but hire somebody part time to do proper communication, which is sorely lacking so far.

Regarding the crowdsale...some other companies also did not have an official cap, but once sell commenced, turned out that they had a hidden cap. I would hate to see something like this. On the other hand, collecting like DAO, above 160mil on a project in test phase would not be advisable at this stage, in my opinion.

Very good project. I'm saving btc for ico.
Perhaps it is not using BTC investment, but with ETH.

or maybe both will be used in this project,
