UKYO has left the US, and "bitcoins are simply not there anymore"

But guys don't worry it's not a scam.

My theory is that he's investing all the coins on Just-Dice to make that quick and dirty 10% return before he gives back the coins.. easy way to make a quarter million.  That's what labcoin was doing except they fell into the temptation of gambling it rather than investing as the house.   Cheesy

Just-Dice a way to earn bitcoins? oO Till now i thought youre a serious investor... but this kind of thoughts dont match...

You can invest into the house, meaning the odds are in your favor.  It would be the same as investing in a company that's running a casino.  Very reliable investment income actually..

Didnt know that till now. Thanks for explaining.

He's responsible for more than 2 million bucks here, and he doesn't even feel enough pressure on himself to warrant his time even explaining what he did with all this money.

I'm wondering why more people haven't offered to chip in on a P.I.  Huh

Because how do we know we're not throwing extra money away (on top of the Ukyo robbery). And how do we know it will be beneficial.

Perhaps, but someone should still have a talk with him "mano-a-mano", he could find out a lot.

Why don't some of you Americans that are near pay him a personal visit?

If I was in Texas, I would absolutely love to. I'm in LA, though, and the ticket there would cost me more than I am owed by him (I only have ~.2 btc at weexchange).

That said, I'd be more than happy to chip in to have a reputable private investigator look into his assets.

I am sure it would not do any good.  Having the sheriff give him a visit with a summons would be better.

Or another option could have been to sell all the coins on the market, which should cause the market to plummet a few hundred dollars as people would panic and think the bubble's bursting, wait an hour or two and then buy the exact same number of bitcoins back at the lower & falling price. Ukyo pockets the cash difference then releases the same number of bitcoins back to the community... win win scenario!

At this moment we know that Ukyo was handling at most a couple thousand BTC. That's definitely not enough to cause a panic. But it's still possible that he thought bitcoin was at an all-time high and sold the coins hoping the price would drop. Unfortunately it did not and somehow "technical issues" with the bitcoind occurred.
But also that is just speculation and meant for entertainment only.

Of course.... all speculation.. if it's falling under legal issues then there's probably a few issues of ownership of the wallet, coupled with the private keys etc etc.
