...then let's create the actual league with all of the rules/settings as discussed, pay the entry fees, and agree on a draft date/hour. It's a lot of work, and it may take some time to get everything in order, so why not start early? Smiley

We haven't talked about the forum league in weeks. I thought it is a good time now with the Hall of Fame game next week and pre-season there will be only 4-5 weeks left. We should probably figure out the draft order first, i'd really want to know my draft position, i've been drafting against the cpu on fantasypros for the last week and a half.

I started reading some articles after reading your post and I am very shocked to learn that Russell Wilson is now the quarterback of the Denver Broncos. Has anyone posted about this trade in this thread? I might have not paid attention. Who will be the Seahawks quarterback? Geno Smith? This will not be good for their season.

It also appears that Jimmy Garoppolo might have another chance to be first quarterback for a team that might be satisfactory for him.

Wilson is a huge upgrade for Denver but don't go for he is being over hyped again.

I don't want redacted to go to Seattle either, that's too close.  I can just imagine Carrol building a line that makes redacted look like Brady and haunt us for the next ten years.  Roll Eyes

The thing is he's not that bad when he can stay healthy, and with a coach like Carrol he might actually be able to win a super bowl.

As of right now Drew Lock is the Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback and that’s sure as shit not going to be doing that team any favors so I think “redacted “ (I’m still not really sure why we are all calling him that right now lol) would be the best bet for the Seahawks. They essentially have to sign him unless they are trying to tank for a future QB in the draft.  I think Carroll has lost his edge, and don’t see him turning Jimmy G in to much more than the game manager he is. But of course I could see them having some decent success, after all they still have a potent offense outside of QB.

If I understood the both of you correctly and assuming redacted is the same player I am thinking, for the excitement for this season redacted should be traded to the Seahawks. Redacted had a good season last year considering that his team was not as good as the Cardinals and the Rams hehe.

There were so many factors that contributed to the Niners making it to the NFC Championship game last year.  I don't think redacted helped much, but he certainly didn't hurt either.  I have almost no doubt that Carrol would make a move on redacted if the timing is right, and right now it looks like the logical thing.  It really wouldn't be bad landing spot, other than for the Niners and their fans.

No dude, I did not know that. I should also try to keep up on such things, though I know in the long run it really does not matter as it pertains to Fantasy Football championships.

BTW, congrats on your new rank  Wink

You can keep in mind who helped you when it comes to trade deals this season  Wink Wink

Big blow for the Bucs, Ryan Jensen could be out for the year with a knee injury:

source: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/buccaneers-ryan-jensen-feared-to-have-significant-knee-injury-after-being-carted-off-at-practice-per-report/
Quote
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen was carted off the field during Thursday's training camp practice. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles revealed during his press conference that Jensen suffered a knee injury, but did not go into detail. Jensen is still undergoing tests to determine the severity of the injury, but the NFL Network reports that the fear is that he has a significant injury. Meanwhile, a source told ESPN that it's "not looking good."

He was apparently injured during an OL drill, non-contact injuries are the worst. I know they haven't confirmed/announced the exact injury, but very likely an ACL tear, which means he'll be done for the year. It's going to be tough for the Buccaneers to replace him because they do not have anyone else at that position. They would be forced to play some second-year guy with no snaps at center, or seek a trade/sign someone else. Either way, things are not looking good for their offense, run game, etc.

@DireWolf- I have YouTube Tv too. I’m pretty happy with it overall. They don’t offer the Chicago Cubs Marquee network which ticks me off but they offer most everything else I care about. They definitely have Redzone and that’s what matters most.

Ooh. Might have to check out YouTube TV then. I like Redzone, its kind of like if the NFL was on Adderall.

Only a couple weeks to go before preseason...

Like Direwolf was saying, YouTube TV is a little more than half the cost of normal television providers (cable/DirecTV) and is pretty darn smooth. I don’t watch a ton of regular television outside of CNBC and major sports games and they tend to have all that stuff (NBC/ESPN/ABC/CBS/NFL network, MLB network/NBA network etc). I love it.

Everyone getting excited as training camp is starting to open for teams?! How about Aaron Rogers showing up as Cameron Poe from Con Air today ?! Lol - https://youtube.com/shorts/4obLGpIdx2w?feature=share

I have not done the research on the players because of laziness hehehe. I also have not practiced on Yahoo's draft yet.

In any case, I might choose the same players last year with some changes in wide receivers and pick those more familiar and popular names. I was being too smart last season and chose those who might be underestimated. I was lucky to get Ekeler and Najee Harris, however, much of my players in the team were useless.

And there it is Jimmy is on the block, San Fran fully going with trey Lance this year.  Trying to think best landing spots for Jimmy.  Honestly the Seahawks could use Jimmy for a year and what better way to stick it to your rival than to go to Seattle.  Problem is I don't think San Fran will sign off on that.  What teams ya'll think would be Jimmy's best landing spot?

Yeah this really just seemed inevitable. Seattle is definitely imo the best place he could end up and the team who needs his services the most, but as you point out the Niners are not going to be keen to sending their division rival someone who could help them compete against them.  Had Washington not gotten Wentz that would have been a good landing spot. The Falcons definitely need a QB. Would you want him in NY?

Nope.  If Danny dimes doesn't do anything this year giants will probably be in the toilet bowl again and next years qb class has got a couple ringers.  I'd rather they draft then go for Alex Smith 2.0

That’s a good point I don’t know what I was thinking even suggesting or questioning it. He offers very little upside long term and is likely to only get you maybe a win or two more than current QB , plus I guess you gotta give Danny d one more go at it just to be sure (but let’s be honest he’s a backup somewhere sooner than later).

I also have never known NFL games to be free on the NFL App.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all.  It's honestly a perfect situation in that if he sucks they get a high draft pick in a loaded qb class needing a qb.  If he shows he is the starter for the next 3-5 years then great that was the goal anyway.  Either this is another season as a giant fan where ima just enjoy my fantasy team 😂

Shit you don’t have it even remotely bad compared to me. Your team took out the goat and the patriots twice in the past decade. Mine won a super bowl when I was 1 year old so I of course have never seen them win shit, and this year will be no different lol.

Are you able to connect a laptop to your mobile hotspot and cast to a tv?

Nope, I wasn't able to make it cast to a PC or to a TV directly, and google said that I'm not alone so I'm guessing NFL is blocking that.

Come to think of it, given the billions they're extorting from TV networks I'm surprised they are able to show any games outside of a $200 cable package.

True, I forget not everyone has the skillz. Tongue

Oh, so now you're going to get nasty?!?!  I see how you are!   Tongue

Meh, it's not about the skills (or lack there of.)  I know I could set up specific hardware, a VM, or a container specifically for the purpose if I really cared that much.  Or deal with streaming over tor...  Realistically, I get a lot of use out that evil service; sports of all kinds, not just football.  It's not cheap by any stretch, but it's a only a little more than half of what a typical cable package would cost if it included the same level of sports programs.  And it's nice to be able to reliably watch the Niners whenever I want, not just live if I choose.  The cost of convenience, I guess.

Guess I'll stick with pirating all the games. Cheesy

https://home.nflbite.com/#

Those pirating sites freak me out.  Not to mention that they make my script blocker go crazy, and to watch the videos you have to disable it.  I'm not willing to do that.

At least I know what evil YouTubeTV is up to with my personal data.  Roll Eyes

But apparently Game Pass is only letting you watch the games after they are over from now on?

Hmm...

I signed up for Game Pass once upon a time, and that's how it worked in those days.  They didn't want to compete with local broadcasts so they would have a live broadcast of at least one game out-side the local market, then let you watch all the games a couple of hours after they ended.  One thing I really liked about it was the "Game Film" version, which cut the broadcast down to around 50 minutes.  To accomplish that they cut everything out except for two seconds before each snap to two seconds after each play was over.  I don't know if they still do that, it's been over a decade since I used the service.

It should work on wifi, I didn't know you could watch all the nfl games on the nfl app. I thought it was only highlights and replays.
Not all games I think, just the "local" ones on Sunday but I found that using a simple location spoofing app I can pick pretty much any game.

And yeah the live games would stop playing if the phone connects to WiFi.

Are you able to connect a laptop to your mobile hotspot and cast to a tv?
