On the argument that the 1st position in the draft and last position are the easiest, I disagree. In my experience the 1st position is easier, however, the last position is very difficult. But from my mock drafts, the easiest might be from 2nd to 5th places.

That was last year, I'll have to find it all again.

Interesting!  Never would have thought there was custom FF software to self-host.  Probably wouldn't take much, a basic virtual instance would surly suffice.  Mind sharing the software you were looking at?  I want to take a peek at it myself.


Sleeper has a pretty simple interface, which is what I like about it.  Being as new as it is I'm sure it's not perfect and will likely improve as time goes on.  Not sure about the accuracy of the stats, I thought their claim was it was it more accurate and refreshed faster than the big boys.

I'm going to force myself to really dig into it this off season, I spent some time looking at custom software to possibly host our own site as well.

Really the only issue i had with sleeper was the incorrect stats and then ignoring my email, both deal breakers for me.

Also my main yahoo account is diamond and it pisses me off they sell my data so i want to leave with those as well not to mention making us pay to download and create cheat sheet lists now. The fuckers have just crossed a line.

Jesus that sucks. I would be absolutely livid.  This is why I’ve been trying to press the move to Sleeper. I think I’m about right at 17-18 years of playing fantasy football, most years playing in 2-6 leagues. The one constant has been these big corporate platforms are only willing to do so much. Yahoo was shit, ESPN was good, then ESPN turned to shit, and yahoo was better, mainly just by comparison, and now they both suck. Sleeper is about the only platform not owned by some big company where FF is far from their main focus. It’s just so different than anything we’ve seen before. I fear however that it will become so popular, as it’s on its way to being right now, that they’ll just end up selling it to some big company that will then, as with most great small companies that are taken over by big corporations do, turn to shit.

Me too done with mocks it is what it is at this point.  I've drafted for 3 leagues already though so I think I have my strategy down by now.  There is one guy I've been targeting in the 4/5 rounds that I haven't been able to get so hopefully this time around he lands in my lap.  It's those 4-8 round guys that end up with 1st or 2nd round years that wins leagues.  Have to nail those rounds.

You can always AUTO draft, we will clean/scoop the good players...don't you worry.

My best results have come from picking in the middle. I will put in a suggestion to have draft pick trades/swaps next year...it's fun, many leagues have it. I'd trade my 9th pick for 4 through 7 in a heartbeat.

There are tons of strategies, no rb is one where people stack wide receivers and then others that like snagging running backs early.  Not to reveal my strategy but I usually let the draft fall to me and do best player available so I don't force feed a team amd lose value where I'm picking from.  I don't mind the middle of the draft not so much time or picks in between each of your picks.  I don't like the ends 1st or last.  But here I am! Lol.

I've been doing mock drafts all morning, and had a similar issue,  kept clicking the draft button on a player that was available, but the site wouldn't respond.  Finally it worked, but I but I was running out of time, and panicking, lol.  I had to remind myself, it's a mock draft, so it's good for me figure out the bugs in software while just practicing.

Drafting in the middle of the round is pretty hard.  Very few times am I able to get the results I want.  One time Tyreek was available at 4th overall, so I picked him only to realize later that may not be the best strategy.  There are a lot of high value WRs, but only a handful of truly elite RBs.  The difference in point potential for top notch RBs vs. mids is significant, while the same is not true for WRs.  That's why we do the mocks, after all.  Learn when it doesn't count.  Ironically, I picked Tyreek with my first pick last year, and struggled with RBs all year.

Alright ladies, drop your cocks and grab your sox.  The draft is a little more than 8 hours away.

I drafted with it last night and it totally screwed me over!

In the 8th I had keenan in my que and since i was on the turn i had 2 picks in a row.

Now Keenan was my 3rd wr so i waited a long time to grab my third and did it specifically because I feel he is being way under valued this year.

But the guy before me was picking so i went into my que and he did not disappear when the other guy picked him and it became my turn.

I then picked him and the app didn't respond at all so i kept hitting the draft button saying wtf.

I was running out of time so i said ok since i have 2 in a row i'll take Gus and then keenan and when i picked Gus it went to the next guy even though keenan was still in my que and Gus was gone.

I then checked on my team and instead of choosing keenan which the guy before me had grabbed it drafted the absolute last guy in my Que, FUCKING STEELe !!!!!

this fucked me so hard as i had to wait another 22 picks to get a third wr!

It totally fucked my team over.

ALSO in the 10th round the app stopped populating the player list!!!

I had to close the app and reopen it repeatedly to get players to show up otherwise it was just blank.

I don't know if this was my connection or my phone or the app but my money is on the app as that should be the number one thing the damn app displays and it had no problem displaying the other shit like the draft order which is a retarded button to have on there taking up real estate for the entire draft.

after the 11th or 12th pick it didn't matter if i closed and reopened the app it would not display the players and i had to just use my que to draft.

Luckily i did have a defense in my que so i did get one but i took it in the 11th because i didn't want to not end up with a defense at all.

I did some test with allowing the auto to use my edited draft list and the fucking thing kept drafting multiple TE and QB's so i didn't want to just empty my que and let it pick.

I then deleted everyone out of my que for the 15th and let it auto pick hoping that it would be smart enough to grab a kicker and luckily it did even though it was a shit kicker.

I had 1st pick so grabbed mcaffrey but because of this fuck up I had to spend my next 3 picks on wideouts and lost my handcuff as well as a couple of dart throws i wanted.

I would recommend doing a ENTIRE mock draft on the app to make sure you don't have these issues like I did, I just did a test of a couple rounds to make sure the app worked and it bit me in the ass.


Also now I am supposed to be at the casino tonight 3 hours before our draft and can't trust the app so have not decided what I'm going to do.

Anyway maybe have 2 phones setup with the app just in case or make sure you have a computer handy just in case.

My laptop drops connection at the casino all the time so thats why i used the phone, maybe i'll set the phone as a hotspot tonight and use it that way.

anyho thought i'd let you guys know so none of you get blind sided like i did last night while i was covered in hot wing sauce!

I got the update that the draft was set, and if you open the app it'll show the date as well as the draft time (it will base it off your timezone, unless of course you're on like Tor or using a VPN. 

So guys I've been thinking long and hard about the first pick.  Gone over all sorts of scenarios , crunched some numbers, made a few phone calls and have officially decided that with the number one overall pick, Team ChiBitCTy will be selecting ...okay yeah I still don't know lol. 

Look like the yahoo app has done a little updating, which is nice.

Whatever we are choosing as draft time we need to figure it out. We have just over a week and the season starts. I keep getting notifications that we haven't set a draft time lol, got annoying so I silenced notifications from yahoo til we start.

Doesn't matter what time we choose, looks like someone will be fucked staying up late or not going to bed at all. Early am EST sucks for me, but i'm not a pansy like most of you seem and I can manage to stay up all night.

Lol, 6am would actually be the ideal time for me.  I have a mt bike ride planned for late Saturday morning and as it is I would have to rush to get back on time.  How about we trade?

9am EST (6am Pacific,) which would be 9pm for Nutildah and 3pm for Seek3r.  Does that work for everyone?
