Does it by chance include RedZone?

Yes, it does! RedZone is always an option during the regular season.

Does it use any IP or GPS location tracking (if so guessing a VPN can be used, or prob is required regardless)?

For most games they have 2 options: those with an IP inside the US and those outside the US.

Btw hows the picture quality?

Its great! It was good even for the one Thursday night game on... what was it... Peacock? that had all the streaming issues. It was fine.

Wait so it's $40 all in for the whole season?  That's insane given cable and the football package.

Yep, including playoffs and Super Bowl. With any luck it will still be around by mid August.

But yeah I just saw that Netflix partnership yesterday and thankfully have netflix, but it's a bit annonying how much football is starting to be played off basic cable.
Yeah same with baseball.  It's real annoying that you.have to have multiple subscriptions to watch one team.
...

They are definitely trying to milk us to death... but what are we gonna do, not watch football? No way. I'm gonna be renewing this service I used last season that was for a relatively reasonable price: $40 to watch any game, including preseason, playoffs and Super Bowl.

The best part about it is you can rewatch any old game, from any week, whenever you want. They also cut out all the commercials & downtime from those games, so instead of a game taking 3-4 hours, its only ~1.5 hours. Funny enough, the only method of payment they accept is BTC.

If you want to know more about it, shoot me a PM and I'll send you a invite link.

Wait so it's $40 all in for the whole season?  That's insane given cable and the football package.  I never used any of those streaming services for sports but it's looking more and more like the only viable option.  How do those services stay online and not get booted?  Honest question because I've never used them just always paid for cable and the football package straight up.

I have to have a tv services for sports, CNBC investment news and umm..about it , 85 a month for YouTube TV.  Fuck google.  This also doesn't include any Chicago Cubs games which have Marquee network, their own like Wheelz yankees have as well as the Dodgers (pretty sure just those 3 teams, all teams would if they could, but baseball is no NFL in the States).

For me if the Bears are on I'm watching on YT TV and if not, RedZone..this is the way.

Btw hows the picture quality?  It's half ass on YT TV or any service for that matter, and high end TVs are almost worse (minus lag) I've got a very high end TV and it's just ehh.  "4k games" look sick, even though it's not real 4k, and only Fox Network has them during playoffs and then the SB has it.  4k on YT TV, which has extremely little content, $15 a month lol.

Besides thinking in college when I sold my books on amazon since they paid more than local book stores and thinking "this co just sells books, they are def going out of business before long" , "a la cart tv will be amazing" is prob my 2nd worst prediction ever lol.

Lots of NFL news today:

The NFL now has games on Netflix, Peacock, Amazon Prime and ESPN+, while Sunday Ticket is on YouTube TV.

Add Netflix to the list of streaming services you need to watch the NFL. I mean this is getting ridiculous, you can't expect regular folk to have all those subscriptions because some you only need for a game or two, it's so inconvenient.  PPV when?

HBO, NFL Films, Skydance Sports, and the New York Giants are joining forces for HARD KNOCKS: OFFSEASON WITH THE NEW YORK GIANTS, a brand-new iteration of the groundbreaking franchise that will document the NFL offseason for the very first time, announced today.

Interesting. This is not the training camp version of Hard Knocks, kinda looking forward to this tbh.

...the complete 2024 NFL schedule will be released later today, which i guess is what everyone is waiting for.

Oh yeah, I was waiting for the schedule release last night with great intent.  The Sunday Night football game between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans is what I'm most excited about right now...two young up and coming franchises with a star QB (and a potential start QB in Caleb Williams).

Yeah same with baseball.  It's real annoying that you.have to have multiple subscriptions to watch one team.  Even worse is the announcers those apps use.  I know for baseball it's almost unlistenable.  When they play on those channels I have to mute the game but the lag time between radio and TV is too big to listen that way either.    And giants play in Germany.  Not sure if it's a home or away game but having a home hlgame in a another country sucks.

I am taking a look at it with special attention to the Bears and I must say I like what I see, other than the Texans which are a good team, the first 10 weeks are full of winnable games which could help Caleb Williams to build his confidence and get comfortable at the QB position, so it would not surprise me if the Bears could go 5-4 or 6-3 during that span and with this newfound confidence Williams could meet the challenge that constitute the remaining 8 weeks of the schedule which is much harder, given that he will have to play all his divisional rivals twice.

Most strength of schedule rankings i've checked have the Bears in the top five easiest schedules for 2024.. The Chargers and Falcons have it easy, top of most lists too.

Ravens might have one the toughest schedules around and opening few couple of games: @KC, LV, @DAL, BUF, and @CIN...sheesh.  It looks rough but in all honesty they had a terrible schedule last year and still finished with the best record in the AFC, i guess i wouldn't worry about them. Speaking of Baltimore, the Harbaugh Bowl is in Week 12.

Jets get plenty of primetime games, hopefully Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy.  Russ vs. Payton in Week 2. 👀

Got this email 5 days ago:

One of my friends really misses the NFL. He's really jonesing for action, even though we've still got a long ways to go.

Betting it all on the Chiefs to win the SB again. /s

I thought that these emails were automatically sent out by the leagues, but I guess if they are going out right now, then the league manager probably sent them out ahead of time..which is kind of funny.  I can't say I totally blame them, I'm jonesing for some NFL football myself.

Been a heck of an offseason for my Bears, and at least as of right now I can pretend as if nothing but great things are ahead for us!

If everything falls into place they are gonna have a rocking offense in a couple of years.  Can't believe they picked up Keenan Allen, dude is a reception machine.  Would have been a nice pickup for the giants.  Having a rookie quarterback is always fun because you don't kmwo what you are going to get could change the franchise for 15 years or be another bum lol.

What bothers me about this is that I remember the days in which the Patriots were good and the Steelers and the Colts stated openly they will not trade players or picks as they were their direct rivals, but during the previous draft the Bills, 49ers and Cowboys traded with the Chiefs, and the NFL as a whole allowed the Chiefs to pick WR Xavier Worthy, the fastest player on the 40 yard dash on the history of the NFL Combine, did they forgot already about Tyreek Hill and Mahomes throwing bombs to him every other play? If WR Worthy makes good on his last name, NFL teams will have to deal with a younger, faster and cheaper version of Tyreek Hill for the next decade, so I cannot believe this happened at all.

Falcons GM Suggests Michael Penix Jr. Could Sit '4 or 5 Years' Behind Kirk Cousins

The Falcons pulled off the biggest stunner of the 2024 NFL draft so far, selecting Penix with the No. 8 pick. The move came roughly a month-and-a-half after they signed QB Kirk Cousins to a massive four-year, $180 million contract.

In '4 or 5 Years' Michael Penix Jr. will be 28+ years old.  Cheesy

I imagine NFL owners can't fire their general managers during the draft, right? It hasn't happened before? I mean, drafting an injury-prone quarterback in the first round after signing Cousins to a $100 mill guaranteed contract is completely insane, beyond the realm of brain dead.

Six quarterbacks selected in the top 12 screams desperation, and it's not like this year's QB class is anything special outside of Caleb Williams.

"4 or 5 Years" is just him being diplomatic, they will be lucky to get 3 good years out of cousins before age takes him down and a few years behind a QB like cousins will give them a Franchise QB for the forseeable future so it looks like a great move to me.

All these tard coaches that run out a rookie QB from the draft are killing the qb's as well as the teams chances for years to come.

Greenbay does it right and the other teams need to learn from them rather than saying they keep getting "Lucky".

Also, they might be forced to make this rookie their qb1 because according to some articles Kirk Cousins has not yet healed to 100% from his injury on his teared achilles. If he is 100% healed and he will play on week 1, I speculate that it will not be an assurance that he can play for the whole season.

In any case, how to follow college football? Where to begin? I am very much confused because it appears to have different leagues.

Yeah it would almost seems that there is something about Kurt Cousins that the Flacons are just not letting us in on (ie potential injury woes).  I am still shocked and we are coming up on a week later already.

As for college football there's genreally 3 different teirs.  It use to be division III as the lowest (small schools), and then Division 1 (Big 10, Pac 12, SEC etc) and Division 1AA which was for schools such as my own that are mid-major type schools. Southern Illinois University, Western Illinois. Appalachian State, etc.  I think it's call FCS as Div 1 is called FBS.  Kind of confusing but jus think of it as 3 tiers. 1 of cour being the highest.

"Atlanta must have been on autodraft."
  Lol

I'm not sure there was a single sole on the planet that understood what the heck was going on with the Falcons last night.  Talk about coming out of no where.

So Terry Fontenot, the Falcons GM, his first-ever pick for Atlanta in 2021 was drafting a Tight End at #4??? Falcons 1st round picks the following years...22' - WR, '23 - RB, 24' - QB. This is just not serious people.

In my previous post, i mentioned Michael Penix Jr.' is injury-prone, but i only knew about his shoulder problems...it turns out it's much worse than that:

I don't get it either... For the life of him, dude can't win in the playoffs. Two years ago he was a subject in that Netflix documentary, the one that followed Mahomes, Cousins, and Mariota. At the beginning of the documentary, Cousins admitted there was a stigma around the Vikings always crumbling during the playoffs, and that's exactly what happened that season.

There is maaaad money around the NFL right now. It is by far the world's biggest sports league in terms of revenue. I mean its not even close.

I guess that explains part of it... Maybe should I apply to be a waterboy or something, wonder what their starting salary is, probably more than my net worth.

In other news, for a Bears fan such as myself..I'll never have that feeling again at a draft.  At least for the evening, I got to dream like no other, got the guys I wanted, I mean the #1 pick in a year where the QB class is strong and you needed one.  Then getting on of the 3 stud WRs, this team is just getting more exciting by the day.  It's a very unfamiliar feeling.  Cheers to ya'll.  Have a good weekend!
