Is it only 5 minutes before your draft? Good luck to everyone, please share your draft picks later hehehehe. I very much regret not joining this year.

https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/595995/draftresults

shit man you should have joined us in discord.

was a good time, would have like to see you there.

Hehehe I have forgotten about this. Is the discord presently more active? It was very silent before.

I will find my password and log in again. There will certainly be live games that will bring laughter for this season. This might be the Chiefs vs. the 49ers for the AFC vs. NFC games, this will be on October 20. The Chiefs will not be lucky again similar to their luck during the superbowl.

Also, thursday night football might tell the fans that in the regular season, the Ravens will standover everyone in AFC.

It was pretty funny, here's a snippit.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
No, my bad yes we have 2 IR spots just like last year.

The only settings that were changed can be seen on the league main page at the bottom where Yahoo displays any change made by the commish.

snip
Just checked and I could add two players to the IR without dropping anyone.

The only season in which we had one IR spot was the first one, in which you and I got completely decimated by injuries and this was the first rule change we asked for.

The one big move this year was Saquon Barkley moving to the Eagles.  I think that'll be huge for his numbers this year compared to last.  If Breece Hall had not been available it would have been a tough choice for me between Saquon and JT.  Both are a bit of a gamble this year anyway.  I figured you might have been struggling with the same indecision.

I was hoping you would go for a receiver in the second, and leave Kyren Williams for me.  I had him above Isiah Pacheco, actually.  And for the third round I knew if I took Deebo you would have taken Allen, so I took Allen left Deebo for you.  Grin

I was 100% determined to get two RBs first. We'll see how that works out. JT over SB... I think both have a substantial chance to miss half a season with injuries so it's a roll of a dice.

I would not have taken a QB until round 6 though, but thanks for being so considerate and leaving Deebo for me Smiley
JT will get a lot more touches if Anthony Richardson goes down again for the season. I think if both stay healthy, JT gets less touches as more passes will be called and AR will be running a little.

2 more days!!!!

Btw, didn't we have two IR spots last year, or i'm tripping?

Haha, nope, your not trippin, Reading comprehension failure on my part.

I thought I read that we didn't have 2 IR spots last year.

Weird because I had 2 IR spots in 1 league for sure, guess it was the other one.

I don't know if you guys saw this; sportsbet has a prediction contest for Thursday's opening game, and giving away free bets to the three most accurate predictions.  Usually you have to be enrolled in one of their pools to participate, but there's no such restriction for this week's contest.  I'd like to see how your predictions go.  Tongue

Cool, i'll have to do this tomorrow while checking out the other one.

I only remember one last year.  Maybe the first year we had two?  IDK.

With 12 players having two IR spots would be nice, but with 10 players 1 seems plenty.  Going back to 10 players after having had 12 last year makes it so obvious how fewer participants allows you to stack your team.

Not that it makes that big of difference in the long run, we all have stacked teams so it'll just result in higher scoring games.

I love my team, but when i check at what everyone else has, i see stacked teams everywhere...man, i hate 10-team leagues.  Cheesy

Don't worry, by Week 4 we'll all have lost at least 1 star player, some of us will be more hurting than others. This competition is a game of attrition & the talent scouting of replacements is just as important as the draft itself.

HAHAHA, I took Mosert over Achane, should be interesting at the end of the season to see how bad a decision that was! Cheesy

Given that Mostert and Monty are typically taken in the sixth or seventh round, seeing them both drafted so early and ahead of Achane/Gibbs is unexpected.

There is no chance Mostert sniffs anything close to 20+ TDs again. Achane has been getting crazy praise in training camp, citing "being involved in everything", he is likely the Dolphins' third-best pass-catcher, and Jaylen Wright has also looked awesome in preseason.

I love my team, but when i check at what everyone else has, i see stacked teams everywhere...man, i hate 10-team leagues.  Cheesy

In the mock drafts I did Josh Allen would always be gone before my 4th pick, and since I wasn't getting CMC (and passing Tyreek Hill) I figure I'd at least get the most consistently productive QB in the third.  I hope It doesn't come back to bite me seeing as how my WR corps need upgrading already.

For posterity, so we can look back at this later and laugh at how inaccurate it was (like every season):

Would have really liked to pick up Achane and J. Allen but as the Rolling Stones once said, "You can't always get what you want."

BTW the strategy of not picking a Kicker or a DEF... interesting.

I never keep the same defense throughout the year so I never worry about drafting defenses.  Rather draft more receivers or running backs amd figure out the defense situation at game time.  Definately went a different direction than I wanted but I guess we will see where this lands.  I like my top 3 wide outs, jjettas, Garrett Wilson and advantage Adam's isn't a bad trio to roll out weekly. Running back has to over perform for me this year to compete.

I got tripped and almost ran out of time at least on a couple of picks when at the last minute I realized that the guy I had queued up is in a different team this year and I don't even know who the coach or the QB of that team is... serves me right for not keeping up with the news.

My team is kinda meh, feels "stronger" than last year but that's of course misleading, because of the switch to a 10-team league.

Is it only 5 minutes before your draft? Good luck to everyone, please share your draft picks later hehehehe. I very much regret not joining this year.

On the argument that the 1st position in the draft and last position are the easiest, I disagree. In my experience the 1st position is easier, however, the last position is very difficult. But from my mock drafts, the easiest might be from 2nd to 5th places.
They all have advantages and disadvantages and as you already know from experience in last years draft, these guys are going to steal whomever you were going to draft any ways lol. Don't know how many time I had my eye on a guy in tonight's draft and someone snagged them just before my turn.

Real winners happen throughout the season when people pick up scraps and make trades for their players who have been underperforming.
I am a little bit worried about this, last year I was getting sniped left and right, but now with the exception of nultidah grabbing WR Xavier Worthy on round 11 and Hueristic getting RB Rico Dowdle on round 12, I got pretty much the players I wanted.

So I was the one sniping others or I went for players no one wanted, with the second option being the most likely.

Ayahuasca Brewers Dominates Draft with A+ Grade, Projected to Finish 1st in BCT-2024_HH_10-team

In a draft that sparkled brighter than a dragon's hoard, Ayahuasca Brewers swooped in with an A+ grade, leaving rivals green with envy. With a projected record of 13-2-0 and a forecasted finish at the top of the league, Ayahuasca Brewers seems poised to reign supreme. Despite facing the 8th toughest schedule, this team's draft prowess shines like a knight's armor.

The draft was a tale of triumph and tribulation for Ayahuasca Brewers. Snagging Mark Andrews at 57 was a stroke of genius, outmaneuvering the ADP by 8 spots. However, the misstep of selecting Najee Harris at 64, 7 spots ahead of ADP, felt like a dragon's fiery breath. With 3 players from the same team on the roster, Ayahuasca Brewers is set to create a fantasy alliance that could rival the Fellowship of the Ring.

What a fucking load of gibberish.  I hate it when Yahoo patronizes me, it feels like I'm getting smoke up the poop chute.  IIRC, I got a really good draft score the year before last, and I finish second to last.  Angry

I was actually worried about my receiver choices since I didn't take one until the 4th round, but I'm happy with Aiyuk and Metcalf.
