Lions Bucs may be the best game in terms of having no clue who may win.

This will be a fun one to watch, for sure. If Mayfield continues the trajectory he's on, they have a good chance of winning. I shoulda paid more attention to the trajectory that Jalen Hurts was on before making my last bet, LOL. Kind of an opposite direction.

As for the other games, I agree with you -- I don't see the Texans letting the Ravens beat them by more than 9 points, and I don't see the Packers letting the 49ers beat them by more than 9 points. Not putting my money where my mouth is, but all 4 games will be fun to watch, regardless.
Playoff football, these lines are ridiculous. Almost like they're saying the Texans and Green Bay are trash.

The 49ers and Ravens are 2 very good teams, but I think the games will be very competitive. Baltimore are the favorites to win it all, but I'm liking this CJ Stroud.

I’m on my cell and too lazy to copy paste from your last post lol, but agree Jerry is his own worst enemy quite often. That said Lamb is elite, top 3-5..Cooks is pretty darn solid, and Gallup isn’t horrible for a #4. Their number #2 receiver is their 2nd year TE Ferguson who’s a baller with a very bright future, so it’s not a terrible receiving core by any means really. Even if they had salary cap space this last year, wasn’t much WR help available at all. Not too many guys got traded. Hopkins woulda been a great fit but his contract that carried over was very sizable. But just like Bill B , Jerry playing GM/coach etc doesn’t help anything. Btw Pollard still had 1k yards rushing and avgd 4ypc , so he wasn’t horrible, but you’re right he declined in play as he looks to be best suited for a split role. All that said, losing to GB was pretty sad. Tho of freaking course Love looks to be a rising star. My god, GB has some sort of QB drafting cheat code.

Ravens Texans will be interesting! Here’s the issue for Baltimore, no Marlon Humphrey who’s their stud CB who coulda helped big time w Nico Collins. The Texans offense is pretty ehhh outside Stroud and Nico without Dell and Noah Brown  (Schultz is solid but not special). It’s a big blow for Baltimore but prob not big enough to change the outcome IMO.

I think the lines are fair, both Houston and packers are quite trash when it comes to playoffs time this year. I think ravens will cover by 2 TD's at least tonight  Grin

It appears everyone in this thread was correct. It was announced that Mike McCarthy will be the head coach for next season.

Owner Jerry Jones explained his decision in a statement:
"I believe this team is very close and capable of achieving our ultimate goals and the best step forward for us will be with Mike McCarthy as our head coach. There is great benefit to continuing the team's progress under Mike's leadership as our head coach.

On the divisional games, I worry for the Ravens, the Lions and the Bills. The Texans defense are not to be underestimated and we have already witnessed the difference between Lamar on the regular season and Lamar of the post season.

On the Lions, I am not very optimistic on them after the wildcard game vs. the Rams.

On the Bills. Patrick Mahomes and Taylor Swift.
Jerry Jones is delusional. They paid Dak and lost all their receiver talent when they did. They now have Cee Dee Lamb who is good, but cannot do it all. Yes they have other receivers, but none that are awesome. Pollard is declining, guy looked great when competing for playing time with Zeke, but has dropped off since getting the starting job. The defense is solid, but didn't show up in the playoffs.

I'm not sure if the problem is 100% McCarthy, but the guy isn't doing a great job when it matters. Look at all the teams the Cowboys beat and look who beat them. They played terrible vs teams with a winning record. I would have probably let McCarthy go and got me an offensive coach.

Their defense falls completely flat when they need to show up too.  For a giants fan this is amazing.  Watching McCarhy coach with fear amd desperation is going to be fun to watch.  Ceedee to me is a top 3 wide out in all of football right now.  I'd take him over everyone not named JJettas and Tyreke hill.  Honestly until Jerry homes gives up the day to day ops they aren't going amywhere.

Starting to take a look at the games for this weekend to place my bets, and man, only 8 teams left is depressing.  I mean every season tends to go really fast, but especially this one for some reason.

The more fun it is, the faster it goes...

I've found the only way to slow time is by enduring pain  Cheesy

Ravens > Texans -9.5
Niners > Packers -9.5
Lions > Bucs -6.5
Chiefs> Bills +2.5

The only one of these I really feel confident about is Chiefs. I think they will win it outright. Nobody beats that Reid/Mahomes magic in the post season (except for Belichick/Brady back then). Feels like the other contests will be closer, especially the Lions/Bucs game, but that's just my gut feeling.

My solitary bet for this weekend:

Yeah ain't that the truth.  This season was a really good season, but sort of an odd one.  So many QBs going down with injury was a bummer.  Of course the number one guy I drafte (Chubb) was maybe the biggest injurty of the year, and in weeks 2 lol, I have the worst luck.

I like the Chiefs too.  Of course getting 2.5 pts is pretty nice.  I def feel the niners and ravens winning, but those spreads are so high.  Lions Bucs may be the best game in terms of having no clue who may win.

I don't feel nearly as confident making picks for this week like I did last week.  The games just get so much more competitive now.

That said, here's my early picks..

Ravens > Texans -9.5
Niners > Packers -9.5
Lions > Bucs -6.5
Chiefs> Bills +2.5

I like all of them but Houston.  I'm putting some money on them at 9.5 amd also putting a money line on them.   CJ has the juju going and can see him airing it out in Baltimore.  They need to stop the run because baltimore could just pound it on them but I'd stack the box and let Lamar beat you through the air..  Can't wait for the games just glad none are on peacock this week :/

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
@yahoo62278. There is something inside of me that will certainly not be surprised if CJ Stroud and the Texans give the Ravens fans a panic attack. Lamar on the regular season is a different quarterback from Lamar during the playoff heheheheheee.

On the Packers and Jordan Love, Christian McCaffrey is healthy and he rested during week 18. The 49ers will win the game and against the spread.

On Belichick, it might be better for him to be the head coach of the Cowboys? Dak Prescott is certainly a good QB.
The issue with Belichick and the Cowboys is Jerry Jones. Bill is going to want a lot of control and Jerry isn't going to give it up, not to mention he will meddle anywhere he can.
Belichick has been terrible picking talent from the draft for the last decade, and since Brady left he has been really bad at picking established players too, that being said if Belichick can put his ego behind him he should realize that maybe it is the time to just coach and let someone else do the work of a GM, the real issue Belichick will have with Jerry is his flamboyant personality, he likes to give a lot of interviews and if I remember right he even has a radio show and that is something Belichick will not tolerate.

@yahoo62278. After witnessing how the Lions played against the Rams, Baker Mayfield might win another playoff game, I reckon hehehehe.
I would like to see Baker, Jordan Love, or CJ Stroud win this year. I know the Ravens are the favorites, but the other 3 I just mentioned would be better stories. A rookie winning would possibly be history being made(I'd have to look that up), Baker was written off after Cleveland, and Jordan Love went from 0 to hero in 1 season.

Atlanta is being labeled as the favorites as Belichick has shown that he cannot win without a good QB. He hasn't been shit since Brady and honestly I think if he didn't have Brady he wouldn't have this Legacy of 1 of the greatest coaches out there. The Falcons have a QB that's not considered a top QB at all, but have the 8th pick in the Draft. They could trade up or decide to keep their spot and pick up 1 of the many QBs in next years draft.

Bill Belichick went to Atlanta and had an inteview with the Falcons. It appears that the sportsnews media are taking this and making it appear that the Falcons are the clear favorites for Belichick. I shake my head, we do not know what Belichick said in this interview and it is uncertain if the Falcons will give Belichick his demands as a head coach that also has responsibilities as general manager.

If he interviews with the Commanders, does this imply that they are the new clear favorites?

In a column published Wednesday morning, ESPN’s Dan Graziano predicted Belichick to be Arthur Smith’s replacement. The NFL insider also shed light on the mutual interest between Belichick and the Falcons.

“I think he is the clear favorite here unless another job opens that has a quarterback already in place and offers him a chance to win those 15 games he needs to pass Don Shula in short order — perhaps Dallas. Atlanta has already interviewed Belichick,” Graziano wrote.

As a giants fan last night was enjoyable end to end.  When the camera panned onto the crowd it was priceless lol.  I've never seen a more dominating beginning than that was.  Cowboys didn't even look like they showed up to play.  Now just need the eagles out of the playoffs and the world will be right again. Smiley
You got your wish, I loved seeing Baker Mayfield own the Eagles. The Eagles have been playing so bad and have lost 5 of their last 6 games, so I was pretty sure Tampa was gonna win. Only bad thing about last night was Jason Kelce retired after the game.

Had a pretty good weekend of betting. I just wish I would start putting more down when I'm feeling confident about my bets like I was this weekend.  I don't feel as confident about this coming weeks bets.

Texans > Browns +2
Chiefs > Dolphins ML
Bills> Steelers ML
Cowboys > Packers -7
Rams>Lions +3
Bucs>Eagles +3

Only got one of these wrong.  Even though it was a winner, I'm not so sure the ML was a good call for a 10pt spread for the Bills Steelers game.

However, if Jerry Jones wants to win a superbowl, he should give Bill Belichick everything he needs and he wants. If this is giving Bill to act very much similar to a general manager while also being a head coach, give it to him. Jerry Jones is 81 years old, he will certainly want a new superbowl to bring with him in the coffin.

Jerry Jones telling his assistant to call Bill Belichick

Jerry is about as hands on of an owner as any owner is in all of sports. He doesn’t like relinquishing control in terms of GM type responsibilities. Also, while I do believe Belichick is one of the greatest coaches of all time, I do not think he’s a very good General Manager. He’s actually quite terrible when it comes to making draft picks. His recent track record is quite poor. No Brady, not sure he has any rings at all right now.

Agreed, however, the argument is he is 81 years old and he might want 1 more superbowl to bring with him to heaven hehe. He might be forced to give Belichick what he wants. It might also be good for Belichick because the Cowboys does not have a slot in the 1st round of the draft.

But if it is not Belichick, who? There are articles mentioning that Mike Vrabel and Jim Harbaugh might be the best replacements for McCarthy.

@nutildah. The Eagles' defense made the Buccaneers appear as superbowl contenders hehehehe.

I mean I guess it's possible.  Maybe since he so old and time is a tickin, he will go outside his norm when it comes to hiring a coach.

I would be fine with that but I have a bet in on Eagles to cover 3. Turns out its not as easy as I had planned as they are down by 7 at the half. I forgot that the Eagles were 1-5 in their last 6 games. Sheesh. And losing to the Cardinals? Stunningly bad form. Mayfield is looking great. He is right where he needs to be for his career trajectory to resume, in a post-Brady Buccaneers.
